Ethn - I actually bought that issue used. It's date was April 1990.

Ovation1 - What?

Phrygian Dom - I do have that issue. Did it feature "Titans of the Tele" on the front cover? And Joe's section was titled Exploring a Crystal Planet? Well that's the one I have and it has lots of sections from CP in it.

Joe - Any chance of Memories or Hordes of Locusts for August 31st?

Ethn - No prob man. Glad I could help.

Phryg Dom - Hey no prob man. If you still want the whole section scanned, let me know. I will when I get some time.

Gruskada - That's awesome man. You should play Hill Groove for them. I'm sure they'd like that. I guess they would like almost half the album but maybe not the whole thing. Who knows, maybe we're in for a suprise. LET ME KNOW what they think when they hear more. I'd like to know what they think of "Thinking of You" ... gotta be one of my all time faves.

Ovation1 - Brandos Costumes... you got that right. Have you heard the rest of that cd? I'm glad I own it. It's something else.

Speaking of Paul Gilbert, check this out...

I have posted this before but it's good enough to post again. I strongly recommend Fly me to the Moon and Wonderful Finale.

Joe - Was it planned for you play with them on stage or spontaneous?

Joe, any chance for Memories or Hordes of Locusts for the August 31st Toronto if not the N.A. tour?

Satch3d - Joe comes to Toronto before he comes near Jersey for your show. You could send your demo to me and I could hand it to Joe. This way it gives him a chance to listen to it by the time he meets up with you. Just a suggestion.

I hate computers. I Really do. More specifically I hate Windows (Windoze, Winblows)

In Flames rocks.

Well I traded my Jem555BK in for a S540LTD. This guitar is amazing. I played it only in the store for an hour or so but when I got it home it had everything I liked. Mohog body, a trem setter and an Edge trem. Beautiful neck and bound fingerboard and headstock.

The weird thing is, the serial number is not engraved on the neck plate, it's not an AANJ and has IBZUSA pups instead. The 1995 Ibanez catalog has the same model but totally differetn specs other than color, neck and body. Anyone familiar with this model?

Cabrao - Oh for real man? How long was it until you found out what happened?

Edit - Barrie, you posted about 2 seconds before me so I didn't see it.

This guitar is amazing. I haven't foudn one thing that I don't like. The 555 had been sitting in the case for several months. I'd say about half a year at least. I still haven't done anything with my 7V but I think I may soon.

It's pretty much set up but out of tune because I tried to block the bridge. I was thinking of taking the trem setter from my new S520LTD and installing it in my 7V. 3 small holes in the rear route is no problem but then my new S doesn't have one.

Can anyone help me with setting up a tremsetter on my new S540 LTD? I am experienced with Edge setups and other Ibanez tech stuff but the tremsetter is new to me.

Quantam - Weird, mine has an Edge. The specs on my S540 LTD are different than the ones i'm reading about. The tremsetter is this little device mounted in the rear route (the spring cavity). It fits under the middle springs and has to springs itself around 2 small shafts that press against the trem block to give it tension. It gives it sort of a dead spot where it's harder to move. It prevents strings detuning when you bend one and let one ring or even if you break a string. Still stays in tune. Tuning is more stable and the tone and sustain is slightly improved as it's not completely free floating. I'm just unsure as to how to properly mount it. Under the springs, there is an extra route that is not on Jems or JS's. If you look under the springs of a Jem orJS, you'll notice the floor under the springs is flat. This has another small tier where 3 holes are drilled for screws to mount the tremsetter. I'm not sure if it's mounted on an angle or not. All I remember was that when I disassembled the guitar when I got home, I was so thrilled that I found a tremsetter, I took it out and leared how it worked and didn't bother to remember how it originally was... so dang.

Minus Human - Joe said himself, a good teacher doesn't try to influence the student but shows the student what he/she is capable of and showing them the best path to take to grow as a musician. Something along the lines of that.....

Joe - Any chance of MEMORIES or HORDES OF LOCUSTS to be played at the August 31st show in Toronto?

Iambic - What? Change trems? I don't really understand what you said.

Death Cube - Hipshot.com is something else. I don't know what the hell it is.

This tremsetter says Ibanez on the back of it.

Minus Human - I think Friedman rocked in that band and I haven't even bothered to listen to Megadeth after Friedman.

Phryg Dom - The S have different tremsetters. It's a unit that goes underneath the springs and has 2 spring shafts of it's own.

Joe - While you're in, I was wondering if there's any chance of Memories or Hordes of Locusts being played at Toronto August 31st show? If not, i'm sure the SBM material and Crushing Day will suffice. Also, Joe when listening to SBM time and time again, I noticed one of the influences in some of the tunes. Joe Satriani. Were you listening to some of your previous albums? Flying in a Blue Dream? Maybe even the self titled? A lot sounds familiar from the older days. When I listen to your later stuff, it does sound quite a bit different from the older days. I guess that's why I want to hear Memories or Hordes of Locusts live becaus I miss a lot of your older styles.

Climber - Sounds cool. SRV rhythm over a technoish rhythm.

Colin PATTULO - I listened to that track Restless. It was really good! I loved it. The guitar tone was a little harsh for that kind of song but I really really liked it. Were those your vocals aswell as all instruments? It was all very very good. Let me know when you get more up.

SBM... it's hard for me to comment on it still. Joe continues in his modern directions but I hear a little bit of old style Joe. I miss those days. Still though i'd have to say, What Breaks a Heart is one of the most powerful tunes i've ever heard. Oriental Melody is gold.

MEMORIES AND HORDES OF LOCUSTS FOR AUGUST 31ST. JOE???
