Super Colossal is ... simply another super release! I've been a fan since 1987 Surfing with the Alien release. An FM station in Toronto used the title track along with Steve Vai's Attitude Song as an introduction to their daily Rock Report broadcast, and I simply had to find out who created those songs. I started playing guitar when I was 14 and soon after I started my engineering career, I purchased an Ibanez RG 570 and I play Surfing with the Alien practically every time I pick it up (at least as well as my amateur hands can play it as I am 95% self-taught). My 3 duaghters aged 7, 10 & 12 like the same music that I do and they want me to teach them how to play the guitar. I told them to learn piano first and guitar is something you can learn later when your hands & arms are bigger and stronger. What do you think? I also play a Takamine Jasmine accoustic/electric and I told them to learn the accoustic guitar before the electric. Again, what do you think?
Finally, from your Tour dates, I see that you couldn't squeeze in a stop where I now live, in Ottawa (Canada's national capital, population ~ 1 million). There's many great venues and festivals here like the Blues Fest. Oh well, may be next time. Keep on rockin'.

Hey Joe! It was great to meet you and Steve and then watch the benefit show at the HOB Sunday night in Hollywood. The VIP ticket price was worth it to meet you again, but to know that the proceeds were going to a great cause was awesome. It's too bad that I didn't have the UV777 that I just bought with me for you both to sign like how you signed my RG570 in Montreal on my birthday in 2008. I live in Ottawa and I'm really looking forward to the show tomorrow at the Bluesfest. Is there anyway that I could meet you to get my UV signed? You are the inspiration for my interest in continuing to play and learn, so I would really appreciate it. See you at the show.

Hey Phydeaux_3: I live in Stittsville as well and I do have Back Bar Concert Passes for tomorrow. But, I really don't want to risk bringing my UV777 with me unless I know there's a good chance that Joe will sign it. I met him and Steve Vai backstage at the HOB in Hollywood on Sunday and I told them I'd appreciate it being signed. I told Joe about Bluesfest when he signed my RG on my birthday at the Metropolis in Montreal in 2008, so I'm just glad to see him performing here. He is a really cool, down to earth guy, so let's hope he is generous in that way. See you at the show. Cheers,
Mick

I was watching from the Back Bar and it was like watching a 3-D natural disaster movie unfold in front of me. Too bad the show was cancelled but good news that there were no serious injuries and no fatalities. I sure hope Joe and the band come back another time.
