Thanks for the birthday wishes gang! :-) Freaky And What?!?! LOL

Hay Rich, that 350 reminds me of Chef's parents in South Park (the Loch Ness Monster episode)... "tree fiddy!" "i gave him a dollar" "you gave him a dollar? well no wonder he keeps coming back! Damn tree-fiddy Loch Ness munchies!!!"

OK I think I should go now ROFL. Later all, Dave, and happy Xth to you all :-)

EDIT: Non Smoking Dave: a bird feeder? Some places here in Blighty call that a credit card ;-) ROFL Well done (I think!) on your win, and yes - it's weird about the ex!!! One time I offered my (still-then) wife's new boyfriend a lift home!!!

crushingday62: I have three Joe bootlegs. One is called Surf On This Earth, and was recorded somewhere in Europe in 1988, one is called Lead Guitar (who names these things?!?!?!?!), and also appears to be from the Surfing tour. The third one is an album by someone called Phil Frazier and it's called Cruisin The Strip. Joe is listed as the guitar player. email me for trade conversations ;-)

I understand Joe endorses / supports boots as long as he has a copy, and as long as nobody makes any money out of it, and I understand that he has copies of all of these, so I guess I'm not being naughty!

Invigor: how are you getting along so far?

MegaBoyd: don't worry I haven't forgotten about you!

Later, Dave

EDIT: Congrats d c k!!!!

EDIT2: Mark Your icard message length is too short! I got CubeBecomeI, will listen later / tomorrow - it's 920pm here and I've not eaten all day!!! I can't keep this big belly without food and beer! Later dude

Rich: seriously sorry dude :( How about if I get everyone to take back my congrats and pass them to you? You know why I have so many posts? Cos I'm so full of (oh! watch for shell!!!!!) s**t!!!!! Of course we all know it's quality and not quantity anyway! Well, except for Austin, who has both!!!!!!!!!!!

sparrowI'm interested in that!

XCPX keep your thing in your pants!!!! And check your email from this afternoon!!!!

dyer: I think you already have my email from a week or so ago - send it if you get time! Thanks!

Nick: I didn't have anything to trade before I got these either! So I had to part with that green stuff! Email me your home address, and promise me a (non sexual) favour for the future. I'll post em to you.

I bought the LISF video for a very special friend. I've been watching it tonight to make sure it's error-free. So far so good. And yes, the people who know me - SIABD made me cry again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oops! EDIT (I always forget someone!!!! - no offence!!!!): Paul - yeah the succubus!..... "it was about that time that I realised the girl scout was about fifteen stories tall...." etc. LM-mother-FAO!!!!!!!

Clone1: now that was funny!

/\/\ike: I'm not sure, I think so. He's also mentioned it here. Clarky: your Zoom - is it the little palm sized thing? Or a rack one? Sounds lovely and smooth!

Mr Nick: now you do! Roll the bones, Dave

Paul H: I read that Joe doesn't mind boots as long as two criteria are met:
1. He has a copy!
2. Nobody makes any money from it
but I agree with crushingday - if that's not the case somebody please let us know and I'll stop! Trading boots usually means swapping. Unfortnately I spent nearly a hundred quid getting to the position where I can trade, and I've not traded yet either, but I guess that's the only way to "get into it", as it were.

Anyone who emailed me today, I'll reply tomorrow! Later everyone, Dave

Clarky: thatks for that. I think the conversation started with me describing my overly elaborate gear-hoarding fetish(!!!!), and I made the example of your more minimalist setup achieving cracking results. It's always good to hear what people are using, and yeah - you're right PCs certainly aren't portable and they can be *so* moody at times!!!

Morning all. Shell - got your email, will reply later. Dave

I agree. I'm sure the only wanking Joe has done has been far away from his guitar ;-) (please not another BOP!) and for another point (from several interviews), Joe doesn't play patterns anyway. Wanking in the patterns for G3.

IMHO you should stuff the committee and tell her, after you tell the RSPCA. If your friend *does* shoot the messenger then at least you have more insight into that "friendship". There is no excuse for animal cruelty. Like I said, it's just my opinion, and yes - you did ask for it ;-)

How's the pup now?

I've just been looking through my hard drive and found some MPEGs I didn't know I had!!! LOL. I just watched Steve Vai & Billy Sheehan do the most insane version of ShyBoy, and then I fast-forwarded to The Animal. Man what a solo section! With Mike Keneally harmonising too. Jaw-dropping!!!

Clone1: to a certain extent it doesn't matter about those four months. Get yourself 100% (and I mean 100%) and go chase your dream, your life. I let mine slip away, and I have a feeling r6r will say something similarly deep and wonderful (jeez who need oldies?!?!?! ROFL). Go for it dude, make sure you're healthy and go for it. When you can't play so much, you can still write (which is what I do). It's always there, constantly bugging you, nagging you. It seems it's *in* you, so let it out in whatever way you can.

Man that sounds SO pretentious!!!! I didn't mean it to be - just go for it (as Pia has said!!!!) - but take care of yourself as you do it dude ;-)

r6r bring it on baldy ;-) ROFL

Hey speaking of getting up and down the strings, if anyone here's tried Frank Gambale's technique... I find it quite easy to get from the 1st string to the 6th string (ie each string starts and ends on an upstroke), but I'm only about three-quarters as fast going in the opposite direction (ie each string starts and ends on a downstroke). Is it just me? (Probably!!!) Maybe because I play a right-handed Floyd bridge upside-down (so the bar's always in the way) could be affecting my picking hand's anchoring? Ideas? TIA, Dave

/\/\ike: I actually have an old guitar lying around that has a Kahler-copy trem on it. The internal springs died years ago so I literally bolted the bridge to the face of the guitar!!!! I'll clean it up and put some new strings on and see how I go... gonna miss those flappy strings though ROFL... now to hook up that Whammy pedal ;-) Later matey

Hey guys, I just watched a little more of those MPEGs I found... I've heard DT, but never really liked them, but JP's set sounds pretty amazing! He's pretty good ain't he?!?! The show I have is from Toronto 2001.

Enjoy your weekend people!!!!! Later, Dave

EDIT: Chris and traders: I got my music PC back on the network this afternoon and have been burning... PLEASE guys save me trawling through my inbox and REMIND me if I'm supposed to send you something? I've sorted Boyd, and Chris & Mr Nick are ready to go too. Austin - check your email! USA is different ;-) Was there anybody else? email me if I forgot you (and sorry too!!!!). Thanks, Dave

/\/\ike I was so young when I built that guitar! And stupid LOL!!! It's got a solid mahogany body that I painted bright green :-| There's a 24 fret ebony fingerboard on there too, and because I got someone to do that body for me I can reach all the frets!!! (I'm a lefty). There are a few dead spots, but I'll mess with the truss rod and see how I get on... and maybe tune it down to C to get the flappiness ROFL!!!! Man, it's a sad state of the times, being out of work (lack of fundage!), I'd love to send you a CD but my nicotine addiction won't let me :-( LOL If you can spare a few dollars (or Yen!) place a donation on my site for the postage and I'll send you one! btw the MP3s are clips, so they're not too big ;-)

One last thing - that guitar only has one pickup, it's two stacked single coils (humbuckers) in a humbucker shape, made by Kent Armstrong. I kid you not, but it's called a MotherBucker!!!! LMFAO!!!!

OK it's 0555 here, and my network is goosed... better get some sleep and then get the cable cutters out LOL
Roll the bones!!! Dave

Actually /\/\ike it's not that heavy because it's so thin - that why I went for a flat mounted trem! Yeah it's kinda like a Green Meanie but I put EVH-y stripes on it too. Dumbass! Such a lovely piece of wood! The pickup is basically a PAF+ and a Super Distortion in one humbucker. It's pretty neat :-) I have a huge slab of Padauk wood here, waiting to be my next mean machine ;-) Thanks re: CD. I *really* appreciate that! Do you want to have my children by any chance ROFL!!!!!!!!!

Phy3 - congrats :-))))))

It sucks about your over 21 shows! Here in England even though they sell beer at some (maybe even all) venues even little 'uns can get in. I'm sorry for you guys. JOE can you do anything about it?

OK, so I can write tunes, and I can play pretty well... but going through my MPEG collection I just watched Joe Steve & JP at G3 (which, don't get me wrong, was amazing), then I watched Malmsteen (wanker, but good player), and THEN... I just watched Paul Gilbert play Into The Night, Motor Man and (OMG!!!!) Scarified live at the Whiskey. Don't be surprised if you don't see me here too often... I have a lot of work to do!!!!

OK guys, sorry for the long post.... I'm off to bed now (0630!!!!!) to enjoy my "extra hour" :-) Enjoy your Sunday! Dave

/\/\: it's an African hardwood. Very dark and very heavy! Go for the Racer X - it's amazing! One thing though - for me personally, there's nothing sillier-looking than a singer with a hands-free microphone who keeps trying to hold it! LOL Later all, Dave
