Mr Nick: If you list the order of tones and semitones that make up the lydian mode you'll be able to work out which notes make up B lydian. I wouldn't advise thinking of lydian as "starting on the fourth note", perhaps more in terms of "B major with a sharpened fourth", but really each mode has its own personality and so IMHO B lydian should ideally be thought of as just that - B lydian.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, there *is* a major scale with B as the fourth degree ;-)

Mr Nick yes B lydian has F instead of E, but it's actually E# and not F (remember Clarky's notes about only using each letter once). The major scale with B as the fourth degree is F# major (6 sharps).

hey Nitsua: as a bass fan (from the NG, but I knew anyway!)... what's your opinion of Billy Sheehan's sound? Personally I love Geddy Lee's Rickys with the Badass bridges... and i really love the sound of a Status through a Trace Elliot, but I'm keen to hear your (and any other bassists here!) opinion on the "ultimate" bass sound......

OK Sharon.... I can't make the housework do itself!!!! but I have done something that will perhaps make you dislike it less ;-) Ouija boards.... I'm sure everyone has a cool and/or spooky tale to tell... and I'm no exception!!! IMHO they work if you / the people using them have the right frame of mind (and yes, skeptical *is* allowed as a right frame of mind!). Don't worry about me doing anything bad - it would cost me much more to have done something like that! Just chill and see if there are any changes...... and let me know of course!

hi all, back in blighty now. Been catching up on boring home stuff today.... I have a feeling I have some new tunes waiting to be written! I had a wicked time (thanks r6r and Naty)... kinda good and kinda bad to be home now!
