whoever asked regarding T2J CD booklet... I guess it's up to Trutina and the quotes he's received. If we go mad with artwork bios life history etc then the production costs will probably go up, meaning a) retail price might have to be hiked so we may lose potential buyers or b) each CD makes less profit so either way the Red Cross get less money just cos of the extra stuff in the booklet.

I personally suggest we have track name, artist's real and screen name, and a link to email and/or website for each contributor. The rest of the booklet can describe what and why the CD exists, etc But, of course, that's just my opinion ;-)

OCPS I remixed it earlier... will listen to it tonight and probably tomorrow morning. If I'm happy I'll upload it somewhere for you to go and get.

If any UK peeps are having trouble / are worried about getting their track to the USA, they can send it to me by Royal Mail and I'll upload it somewhere for OCPS to go and get it.

Cheers all... just getting towards the end of a dayus horribilis!!! LAMO Man, I'll be glad when it's tomorrow... Dave

Clarky no, and your usual bollocks is (pretty much!! ha! ha!) always appreciated - it's the one-handed "Original Power Cosmic-esque" section he asked about. Except in your (and my) case it'd be the left hand over the right, shutting the strings up ;-)

Techty if Joe *did* I bet it'd be a green one!!!! Reminds me of Bruce Lee <sigh>....

Ethn sorry I bailed on the theory yesterday... it was a looong day... glad you sorted your Windows out!!! And a .dll is a dynamically linked library ;-)

greg m yes, and no!!!!! check out Clarky's past posts.... jstrat is right... but they're *not* the same! ;-) and Jelly Dude is also right - Fm7 is a chord, *not* a key or scale.

Chris Woodland yes, it's very cool and I want to go... hope there's room on my credit card.... I checked MK's site last time you mentioned it and there was NOTHING about tour dates... man was I (and am I still) pissed off!!!!

Jelly Guy it's not so much as good enough for Trutina... it's good enough for worldwide law (if you're a Brit) so go for it! It's all you need to do, seriously!

OK I'm really going now.... honest!!! Later all, Dave

well if *somethng* happened to vai.com i'd certainly appreciate it! most of us know sv is delaying the release of the live dvd because he feels he needs to "do a grammy"..... you said in one of your posts (regarding the Astoria)... "Hey, it takes me as long to get there as it takes you guys"... and so you know where we all live? man! Eat your heart out, GPRS!!!!! You also said "What a waste of web space"... only the person who owns the server can say whether what we talk about in here is a waste or not... and from all accounts Joe thinks it's great, so go figure :-/ And earlier you said "I'll let you know if and how it works out! Laters people"... so how was your non-permitted cover version....? you also said "plllleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaasssseeeeeeee!"... and I have no comment on that.... and at some (recent) point you said "he's just started touring", and that was Feb 3 2003... *just started*?!?!?!?!

It sounds to me that your little dream world is just divine.... give me a pint of whatever the f you're smoking.... oh, and sort out your spelling while you're at it.

hey trutina if you *were* a deciding force, could you stop them charging ridiculous amounts of customs charges when i buy things from the US?!?! I'd definitely do a BIG StewMac order if that were the case!! LOL!!! OK re: booklet/cover stuff. Let's see how many tracks we get and take it from there. We still have the website for extra artist info too, as Clone 1 suggested. Part IV of a trilogy, release backwards... sounds definitively Rush-esque!!!

migupais I hope you find something good about copyrighting.. it would be an awful shame for you to not make it because of some beaurocracy / administrative nonsense!

CD name the name will be our agreed/best voted name when the cover is finally done... I guess the artists are just putting *something* on there to give an idea. The covers page should really be looked at in tandem with the names page... nothing's final yet!

techty yeah that F#m add9 can be a hand-killer!!!

Benneee if we could sort something out that would be awesome! Real drums and I don't have to mike up a kit!!!

Benny and Paul yeah I fed the troll... sometimes I just can't help it!!!

Getting the keys to the new house today... lots of dogs to walk... and a physics assignment due by Friday!!! Argh! Later everyone, Dave

Good stuff!!!!

Now it's Mike Patton's take on The Exorcist theme!!!!

Erotic Nightmares: it was something about a permanently horny cat Steve's flatmate had when he lived on Fairfax Street (man I have a knack of remembering the weirdest things!)... their vet told them they had to, ahem, "relieve" her with a thermometer, so Steve recorded it while his flatmate did it....

OH WAIT NO! That's the orgasmic strangled note in The Riddle.... sorry guys!

greg m flying visit.... the cat thing (thanks SpazGuy - sorry forgot your screen name) is definitely the orgasmic note in The Riddle. Erotic Nightmares sounds to me like plain old guitar noises... string scraping, using the trem arm as a bottleneck, effects, etc... Adrian Belew's been doing it for donkey's... gotta run mate... later! Dave

migupais I replied to your message, it mustn't have made it to you... the link worked but there was a 404 error (File Not Found). Please try (if you can) to send it from somewhere else... good luck!!!

Sorry if this message is against the rules of the self-appointed Talk To Joe Police (who, I might add only *seem* to post on Fridays... perhaps it's beer night for the teenagers???), but according to Joe and Jon the Talk To Joe section (and I quote) "is sort of a free-for-all stream of consciousness that all registered members can post to. " So shove it up your arse, once you've pulled your head from it. Having a life is more important to me than abusing faceless screen names; having a life is what I try to do, and that's what I'll continue to do. I sincerely hope the troll hasn't been fed enough this time, and so will go elsewhere to swear at people it doesn't know.

cool stuff guys... but before I collapse in a heap of exhaustion (it's been a loooong and hard day.... [doing my "job" which sounds fun but isn't sometimes], moving house [alone! UFFAAAA!], taking money from a customer only to lose it before I get to the shop [AAARRRGGGGHHH!!!!!!!!] etc etc etc).... something good came from it this time........ I would like to Talk To Joe.....

JOE... you're dead busy doing your thang, making tons of people happy, your little book (btw you MUST put that on Ebay when you're done with it! For the Red Cross!!!!!!), is receiving its ideas for the next project, you have 2 DS1s!!!!!!!, etc, BUT.... tell us.... how are you?

Have a great weekend everyone... mine's gonna be more of the same.... is there some way I can order a nervous breakdown? Cos at the moment I don't have time to have one!!!!! Take it easy, Dave

EDIT: made it look prettier ;-)

miguel i haven't received it so far.... looks like it didn't make it again :-(

avarice good to see you again..... but "that canadian" stuff is getting very boring (for me).... got anything else? ;-) your CD comments are more than welcome.... my own track sounds like nobody but me, but hey, even if all xx tracks sound like Joe (or people trying or wanting to sound like Joe), who cares? There are needy people all over the world who will benefit from this CD, and even though you pledge to burn yours, at least you bought it! So the good cause appreciates you! Perhaps you should think out your next attack as carefully as you did the shreduniverse thing.... it seems you're full of holes these days, old bean!!!!!!!!

EDIT: I put "our" instead of "out" ;-)

Avarice IIRC you have a 3/.4 size woolworths strat copy, right? I guess it makes it easier to rip those arpeggios! So if you're *really* gonna submit a track, what's it gonna be? Flying In A Mystical MindStörm While Sitting Around Crying About War With Echoes, And Thinking Of You With Jupiter In Mind? ;-) heh heh oh, and don't forget woof woof!

Clarky you could send me a copy of the minidisc and I could record it into my PC so OCPS can download it...?

Later all... I need to try and find a girl called Rubina so I can marry her!!! LMAO!!!!!

trutina i've emailed lord god king luini a coupla times.... the first time he was cool (although it took days!!!), saying he couldn't give me what i wanted (which was more than fine).... but my (pretty much immediate) reply has fallen on "deaf eyes" (LOL), as it were....i'm sure he's a busy boy, but is there any way you can, you know, ask him politely to pull his finger out...? There's no point in people submitting ideas if we can't vote on them fairly! Thanks dude..... OCPS should have my track by now.... how many peeps have submitted a track?!?!?! I'm keen to know!!!!!!!!

Austin, good call, but you get my meaning... normally it'd be "deaf ears" but seeing as I wrote and didn't talk.... ah, well, either way responses are either not there or unfashionably (too) late!!!!

but, now for the real reason I came back up here to my pc......

O
M
G
!!!!!!!!

one of the lamey tv stations here just showed Woodstock (I guess they made a movie relatively recently???) and I knew JH would show so I thought I'd watch....... MAN!!!!!!! What a performance!!!!!!

I tell ya what... you can shove your arpeggios and your two handed nonsense and your non-diatonic accidentals right up your jack socket!!!!!!!! Even now, 35 years later, widdling and widdling means nothing once you have seen something like that.

And He died the day my birth certificatre was written, and I play stratty guitars upside-down too..... if only <sigh> man... you 24 fret 7 string guys don't know you're born!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh how I wish I'd recorded that movie!!!!!!!

EDIT: another BR for effect ;-)

Cheers, Dave
