to my ears I always thought Kirk Hammet was playing his solos to a different backing :-/ I *know* who (at least one of) his teachers was, but hey.... (and this is true) a friend of mine's grandmother's school music teacher was Gustav Holst and she's tone deaf!.... go figure. So you reckon that in order to not "blow goats" there should be guitar solos? How so? Gay names = your opinion, but come on.... who really needs all those piercings? And why? To be a better musician? Horses for courses. So you disagree (I'm on the fence here - I think sometimes kOrN [or however it is typed] sound like they want to be Trent Reznor, sometimes they stink and sometimes they sound pretty good)... so effing what. Grow up and live with it. Just because someone differs with you doesn't mean they're "righter" on "wronger" than you, it just means they are human for at least having an opinion (IMHO).

trutina... opera... hmmmm.... can't stand it myself.... but (seeing as you mentioned it)... Clarky's well up on the old orchestration thing... maybe he could do an opera about farting pigs!!!!!! I agree with you about opinions though... it's just a shame that some people like to shove theirs down other people's virtual throats! Mr Nick (my tuppence here) if you're using a computer to record and you don't have the outboard required for such detailed EQing you can always use a plugin. HTH

Mr Nick it depends on the software you're using.... Cubase has some built in, Logic does (but not Micrologic), and Cakewalk / Sonar come with loads! What are you using? (yeah, you're right Invigor ;-) heh heh

Mr Nick I have SoundForge on my music PC, but it's dismantled for the house move at the mo so I can't check it.. I'm pretty sure there are effects included with it,and it can also handle DirectX plugin effects. Try recording something, selecting a section and then choosing Effects from the menu and apply an EQ to your selection. If you don't like it there's always the Undo option (CTRL-Z or Edit-Undo) ;-)
I just added a full track to my site... it's one of the first mixes of a track that's on the CD... kinda dry sounding, and the "real" version is arranged a bit better too ;-)
