clarky, mike, shell and everyone else: you're right, i've not been myself for quite some time and i realise the last thing i should do is take out the fact that my world is falling apart on my friends, and so i apologise. i hope that didn't sound tongue in cheek - i really mean it. my fan has stopped going round because so much shit has hit it recently, and i'm really sorry i took out my frustrations on your guys. cheers, dave
ps - it's got nothing to do with alcohol or jealousy either - things have been going from bad to fucking bad over the last three months or so

nonsmoker: yeah, booted out of this flat. since making myself redundant there's no money coming in :-( but at the equivalent of $2100 a month for a flat above a shop, i guess it's better in the long term. ovation1: lmfao! you think he'll know??? ;-) XCrystalPlanetX: I'd get a Behringer V-Amp2 and plug in into your hifi. It's really expandable, has great modelled sounds, and you can use it with an amp, recorder, PA, etc when the need arises.

now because this isn't a flame it'll probably get ignored, but i'm getting used to that <sigh>, but here's my take on the scales thing.... write the keys down like (i think) matt said, then play for 30 minutes in each key on one string at a time. don't get stuck in boxes, you might end up sounding like everyone else <lol>. it's a suggestion, not an instruction ;-) if it gets boring stick with it! remember you've still got hammers, pulloffs, trills, harmonics (natural an artificial), two-handed techniques, open strings (sometimes), whammy (sometimes), dynamics, speed (really slow to really fast, of course!), etc. find yourself - you're in there somewhere ;-) after one string at a time do two adjacent, two non-adjacent, then three, etc. all keys and all combinations will probably keep you busy for some time ;-) but IMHO it's better than getting stuck in boxes and wondering "how do i connect position 2 to position 5???" Well, enough of that it's only 7.30am here... Later, Dave

tapper5: please try to stop worrying, and chill out..... all *will* become clear, wherever it's from it doesn't matter, but all will become clear, i promise. Take it one step at a time.
Chill man, and more important than that shout if you need help!!!!!! (just like you did!!!!)
Did you read Clarky's intro? if not page back a little, it might help. But as I say, SHOUT for help - otherwise peeps won't know you need it :-)
