The Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara is a beloved landmark. 1931 Mission Revival the interior simulating a Spanish Courtyard cumplete with stars shining overhead. If I was not link impaired I would post some lovely pictures.

That being said the acoustics are difficult and I would say marred the first set.

Billy Cox opened with Stone Free. It's a little early in the morning here for me to recollect all the impressions and the exact set list.

Stand out moments for me.

Living Color really putting their energy and heart into Crosstown Traffic. The Santa Barbara audience has a reputation of being cadaver like and they would have none of it.

Eric Johnson doing "Are You Experienced?". I had never seen him before. I loved his tone and his spin on the vocals.

Kenny Wayne Shepard has the most amazing guitarist. I don't know the kids name but my God his Voodoo Chile Slight Return. I did not think anyone could top that. Totally awesome and intense playing. Very well done.

Johnny Lang also played and sang his heart out. All growed up now.

Joe came out last with Living Color. Third Stone From the Sun I feel suffered from the acoustics it was pretty fuzzy and the feedback was a bit much. I know, just the way Jimi would have wanted it. That's just me. Great version of All Along the Watchtower one of my all time favorites. The crowd was going insane. Many people dancing in the aisles and taking pictures. I did hear one woman calling out "Joe Joe". Joe it wasn't me in case you think I am some kind of nut. I think he made some new fans here last night. The encore was Red House and I think Foxy Lady.

I think the performers and the audience had a great time. The entourage bow was nice. Sorry I did not take a camera.

Each act built on the previous. People with tickets - you are in for a treat!

More later on my personal crazy concert neighbors. Ha Ha. Mr. Bottomless Popcorn Buckethead.

Forgive all spelling errors it's not even light here yet.

I thought he was exceptional on that song. If he could sing the world would be at his feet. I did not know most of the people that played. I'm not even that big of a guitar fan. I know, what am I doing here? Anyway good night on the town.

A big thank you to EH and Joe for playing in my town. What a delight it was. We are still talking about it every day.

McDave - that is cool. I like to walk so that would be a good hobby for me. Lots of sandy beaches here.

The census will still be incorrect and incomplete. There must be a better way.

Congrats on the job McDave. I can easily get into hating mine but soon enough I may consider this "the good old days". The whole company is hanging by a thread.

The Santa Barbara show was totally loose. Almost no security once the playing started. We were remarking how much better we liked the Arlington than the Santa Barbara Bowl where we go through a metal detector they thrash through my purse and pat us down before we even get in. Then inside Mission Security are a bunch of goons. No dancing in the aisle, lighting anything etc. Sort of takes the fun out of a show to have a flashlights scanning the rows for "violations".

Since Los Lobos had to play after KWS there was bound to be a slight deflation. Everyone around us was saying "wouldn't want to follow that".

Austin - Have you ever been to the Santa Barbara Bowl? Not that far from you. It is beautiful setting only 4000 and some seats with an ocean view from the "worst" seats. Actually not a bad seat in the house. They have some good shows. DMB has played there a number of times.

ITLIS is the recording that made me a Joe fan. The tour he did with that release blew me away. My husband already had all his previous recordings. Then I bought LISF. That sealed the deal. Where had I been all that time?

My husband is self employed and he pays a fortune, as will I when I am laid off. I don't hear much about how to cut health care costs. The rising costs are the problem and the way it is structured so that those who have insurance or private pay are forced to pay for those who can't (or won't). I see far too many illegal aliens headed to our local hospital at 5 for their free "emergency" care. I think lawsuits and insurance companies are adding to the costs. From what I hear of the current bill, these problems are not solved. This is just another tax.

I want the Congress and the Senate on the plan they approve for us. Notice how that is not on the table and that we pay for them and their families? They have not been serving us well.

Cappy - my husband says Hendrix took the blues and put in into outer space. He was unique. Too bad we never got to hear all the places he would have gone over the years.

Ax - lucky you

I think there is some kind of lesson in this recent experience.

I am late paying my father's assisted living bill because I was afraid to open the envelope. Last month, no bill came but I sent a check anyway. Had a feelling I was up for a big increase because he has gotten so much worse. The bill came this month and I could feel there was a letter in it. I finally got the courage to open it yesterday. There was indeed a letter. A letter thanking me for always paying on time and even when no bill was sent.
