I usually don't do this, but one week after seeing Joe for the very first time, I can't stop thinking about it and talking about it to all my friends, family and co-workers. They are starting to shun me and this is the only place I have left to go. My husband has been asking me to go to his concerts for over fifteen years. I always thought it was a "guy thing". OK, who is the "meathead" here? Anyway I saw him 4/8 at the Ventura Theatre. All the adjectives involving praise have already been used. Let me just say he is a ray of light. I was so utterly moved by his obvious joy and dedication to his work. his energy, originality and professionalism are so rare that the only term that comes to mind is - genius. I had to keep leaning over and say 'what song is this?". Previously I had said "what's that noise/". not that Joe is lacking in amusing song titles - that would make a good one.

I need to amke a contract with myself that I will go the entire weekend without mentioning him or the concert to anyone. Or else an intervention is likely. Thanks for listening. Joe, thanks for the recharge. I will see you every time you play in the Ventura/Santa Barbara area. To all you great people around the golbe ( a special greeting to the people in India and Iran who have posted) I am so glad to have found this commonality with you. Regards. Dianne in Santa Barbara.

Hi Stevee T. Yeah it's nice. We live by Earl Warren where my husband saw all the greats in the past. Hendrix Led Zepplin cream. Etc. I bet Joe can do a killer "Pipeline".

Thanks Cheese101 I am so stoked about Joe and seeing him every chance I get. It's a new lease on life. Thinking of moving to Brookings or Newport. I assume you have been to the Rose Garden.

civgeek - Well obviously Santa Barbara is one of the best places on earth but I don't want ot work unitl I am 70. I can handle the rain. This year was the best for me we had a huge amount of rain. Morro bay is an option we are thinking of building in Cambria. Again - expensive. I need extra money to travel and see the shows. Ha Ha.

Steve T - I grew up in So Ca in the 60's too. Glad I am not the only one on the board. Those were good times. You do the Shrine and Rose Palace at all? Golden Bear?

Cheese 101 - I thought Brookings had that micro climate with a sort of south facing beach - like Santa Barbara - had not thought of the mold. I have always lived near the ocean. After coming to the US from Canada that is.

SteveT - I saw the Beatles in 65 at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto - still have my ticket stub. The price was something like 5.50 Canadian. I remember everything about it. Lennon was shouting "shut up and listen to the music". I was lucky my parents allowed me go from CA to the concert by myself when I was only 13. There was a lot of pleading involved.

We have listened to nothing but Joe all week. Today I am getting tickets for the Eagles. Nostalgia.

SteveeT - It's been over a week and the show and Joe have been the non-stop topic at home. An impromptu search of our entertainment archives turned up joe's first four recording on vinyl - UNOPENED. Very cool. Now I have a shrine at my desk as well. Love to anwer the question "who's that guy?".

SteveeT - that is an excellant answer - "the worlds greatest rock guitarist". And apparently a pretty nice guy.

SteveeT - Lucky you to meet him! I like that he is focused on the music, not the pose. A genuine person.

Stevee T - He is doing a great job of managing his career and maintaining the artistic integrity. As for the fans - just play it and they will come.

estrela - Thanks for the greeting and hello to you in Brazil.

Cheese101 - Is that nickname realted to Tillamook? So now I have mold AND rust? My husband is never going to go for that! Am I stuck in this 65 year "box with utilities" in Santa Barbara forever? Can't really afford it either. Glad you were able to see the shows with your son and see Joe twice. Someone said he may tour again starting next March sure hope he comes back to Ventura.

Have a great day all. Off to work and yes I am late again.

Estrela - I live in California - Santa Barbara. I am a recent convert to Joe after seeing his show on 4/08. My husband is a long time listener having seen him many times from the 80's on. I thought it was a "guy thing". Now I find my husband has all the recording. Taking a crash course in Satriani. His songs play in my head all day. AWMAWY - Flying in a Blue Dream and almost all the others are pure magic. So excited to find such a skilled talented artist with the ability to tap into a seemingly infinite energy source. It's been a long time! Can't stop thinking about the performance. I feel transformed. Saw the post from ka girl that said it changed her thinking and that's when the metaphysical aspect popped into my mind. It really is beyond a logical material explanation.

Also saw a post from a person who thought there was not enough "entertainment" in the show. Something about a better light show, vocals and more interaction with the other band members. Wow. I witnessed such a high level of concentration and note for note perfection I was completely swept up into the show. It was a virtual journey.

mikesb - Thank you! I enjoy everything I can get to read about Joe. Yes that was a memorable trip for a little Beatle maniac. I have not been a "fan" of anyone in a long time. I envy you your acquaintance of Joe. Of course I would be too thunderstruck to say anything. Since I am not a musician what could I possibly say to him? Again best regards and now to the reading.

Estrela - Yes "Lifestyle" and "I Like the Rain". Came home Friday to find my husband had two new DVDs. Took two days to get through "Live in SF" which ends with the most beautiful rendition of "Rubina". It brought tears to my eyes. I cry in museums sometimes too. I love many forms of art.

A little known De Niro film that includes a very young Leonardo DiCaprio - "This Boy's Life". Interesting.

Anyway, I am almost afraid to watch "The Satch Tapes". Will talk about it too much to my friends. I am starting to worry them. Ha Ha.

"Blade Runner" some parts of LA remind me of that now.

estrela - Watched "The Satch Tapes" fairly late last night. It was interesting to hear him talking. I enjoyed the comedic moments with Spinal Tap. The MTV videos ... first reaction there are things from the 80's I am still living down too. One I liked and I saw them before but it's all a vague memory. I will watch it again. One thing for sure he is so much better in every way now. I definately like the current look.

Stevee T - I will check out Reel Satriani. Not something I have heard of before. I am late to the party it seems.

Big Bunny - "This Boys Life" I should have figured it was someone's real life story. So many little details in the characterizations.

Johnny Depp - I liked the movie "Blow"

Greetings to all and have a great day.
