Hey Rocker, Get the Joe Satriani guitar secrets book. It has all the scales..harmonics..3 note riffs..skipping strings. sweeping..well you get the point. As a guitar player of many years..this has been more than helpful..it's a must have. Another tip..learn the pitch axis. This will free up your improvising by oh 100% increase. One more thing..go to vai.com and study the little black dots. It has helped me mentally as "I am that". Not all that but am that. There is a difference as you'll read. If i had all the ready made DVD's , booklets, tablatures, and so many websites with scales and chord figurations..i would have learned at a more rapid pace then i had. I can play vai, joe , and anyone i feel i really want to play. There are millions of musicians that play what we do. The difference is ..can you write? Practice , practice, practice....I do about 5 hours a day. Be it scales, my music, or 2 handed tapping. There is no substitute for practice. Good luck to you and remember.."Youth is KIng"!!! I'm 47 and Joe is an inspiration to me that we can still fly in a blue dream on the guitar. Although on crutches at the April 5th House of Blues show in chicago..I floated out of there on Joes wings..incredible!!! what a show..what a guitar lesson. I'm waiting for the G3 to get here. God Bless to all and Happy Labor Day!!!!

First of all..Merry Christmas to all and a safe New Year!! I've heard that story for a while now, it's still a tear jerker. But to share a few things with ya all on how I remember Christmas. As a father of 6 kids the spirit always lives on ranging from 8-25. It's so kool each year. My sister who just turned 46 on the 17th of December wasn't given the chance to pass age 11 years ago. She has downs syndrome and lives in assisted living in her building in a one bedroom and works for opportunity enterprises in Valparaiso, Indiana. A place that gives special people the chane to have lives of thier own, productive lives at that. Each year they have a Christmas party for all who wish to attend. I have had the priviledge to not only attend these functions, but help in the early years of the special olympics when it wasn't kool to be there as the understanding of these wonderful people were by far not known. The opportunity to compete, be part of something special, and help your fellow competitors and finish were the goals. It was'nt to win, just to be invloved. But for the Christmas party each year, it's the cheer they carry everday like most of us don't. It's the treating of each other as we' d like to be treated daily that we the supposed smart ones tend to put on the back burner until we hear a Christmas song on our car radios that takes us back to when we were kids and the innocents that was the best thing we had going. But more importantly, the anticipation..yeah that's it!!! It's never the gifts, the dinner, all the relatives that adorn our homes on Christmas Day. My sister's party showed me what it was really all about.."The Anticipation of what it could be"..becasue it was then that the sky was the limit We should want that everday for everyone. we tell our children they can be anything they wish, and that treating people with dignity and honor thier persons with the respect everyone deserves. It's truly amazing how just one day can change us all huh? It's more than a season, it's more than a day..it's a life time. If we could bottle this feeling and sell it we'd make more money than we could ever imagine. Yet again we all get a dose for free year round, we just choose to use it this time of year, for this one day. I wish all the Satrianites a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thanks for reading this, and I hope that when your in your car in February that you remember that not long ago in December you had a special feeling that would love to be felt year round...MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Has anyone thought of having a robot waking up in a junkyard after a crystal hail storm with a newspaper laying on his metal chest with a gentlemens club add next to a free oil change coupon and he decides to venture to what would be a robots dream of being human and attending the message parlor for robots at the oil change establishment? I'm not good at putting things like that together, but it would be an idea after the beginning of one robots dream his eyes were to open!thanks joe for all the free gutar lessons on the new dvd. simply the best!!!!

Hey guys, As if everyone wasn't busy enough after the Super Colossal tour adding the Satriani Live CD and DVD to the fold, and then heading out on the G3 tour, I had a request. I saw Joe at the House of Blues 04/05/06 and again 03/24/07 on the G3 gig my first G3 show. I started receiving injections in both feet 04/03/06 for nueromia's in both feet..I'm a remote control crane operator and was on crutches at the house of blues and they took great care of me, and managed this last congress theater show in Chicago on the 24Th of March to get seats as standing for a long period of time is not part of my everyday life anymore, this made it virtually impossible to wait outside the venues for a possible autograph. Honestly I'm not much into those kind of things. But this week I was told by my son who turns 26 on 04/15/07 about a slipknot mask he'd love to have for his birthday which just so happen to be on eBay. I of course won it and await it's arrival. But I decided to check out some memorabilia on Joe. An auction advertising a G3 set list caught my eye. So I checked it out, and as fate would have it, it's from the March 24Th, 2007 show at the Congress Theater that I attended and I just so happened to save my ticket stub from the show. So I bidded and won!!! Yeah the big winner I am huh? I wanted to frame it with my ticket stub. Yeah I'm a huge Satch fan and yes play guitar and would really love my JS1000 back that a separation caused me to sell, but child support for 5 kids says not right now. BUT!!! It would be pretty kool if I could get Joe to sign it as a little reminder of the great nite I had!! Oh yeah the good part..of course I'll pay for shipping to and from, no matter where that would be. I just would like it signed. I will also add a JIMI HENDRIX Live at Woodstock 2 DVD set of Jimi's performance at Woodstock..It's in very good shape.Songs include Message to love..Spanish Castle Magic..Red House..Lover Man..Foxey Lady..Jam back at the house..Izabella..Fire..Voodoo Child (slight return)..Star Spangled Banner..Purple Haze..WoodStock Improvisation..Villanova Junction..and Hey Joe. Disc one also has the never seen performance of "Hear my train a Comin".Jimi's press conference held at Franks Restaurant, Harlem Sept 3, 1969 2 weeks after the show, Eddie Kramer details the recording of the entire epic festival...also includes band members Billy Cox and Larry Lee recalling their friendship with Jimi and their shared journey of their Nashville roots from the fabbled R&B chitlin circuit all the way to the greatest rock festival ever conceived. Produced by Janie Hendrix and John McDermott for experience Hendrix LLC..Co-Produced by Bill Rush of Warner Brothers. It's a complete uninterrupted original performance sequence of Jimi Hendrix's performance at WoodStock. I always stop in at this pawn shop and there it was so I bought it beings they had no good guitars. I've never listened or watched it. It is however used but in a collectors box and in more than good shape. Free to Joe for just signing the set list..I'll pay for all shipping involved getting the items there..the set list and the DVD nothing more...and the shipping it back to me. I known he's a huge Hendrix fan, and as much time as he takes with all his fans to let them know they are very much appreciated humbles the rest of us. I will put this request on the satriani forum in case he reads it. I can't afford to go to any other G3 shows or even drive to one of the venues as I simply can't afford to, otherwise I would. I know Joe gets some crazy requests, but if he could do this I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks again and God Bless, Kevin Rosko

PS Is there anyway Joe you could play Hordes of Locust on the next tour?

Js tony..are you religious. If so Joseph would still be a great name but you would have others like..satch for instance lol!! Just kidding. I have 6 kids and love them all. No matter what you name them it's always precious. Although I will admit i didn't want another Kevin running around the house for those terrible two's. I hear my name enough around the house thank you very much!! So reconsider with tony. Hey Joe. thought I'd let ya know I'm going with the premium this year when you come to Chicago. Bringin my son to his first concert. He absolutely loves my new guitar a 1999 WHITE JS1000. I'll be bringing it so you can sign the back of the headstock. This guitar though a collector will be played and played often. Can ya give us a hint about the NAMM show and the new 20th with Ibanez you mentioned on the bone in SF? I'm looking forward to that. To all a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Kevin

Yeah Js Tony, time is a good thing. As a former hockey player I was able to get a hockey name in when my first daughter was born. I know I know, YOUR DAUGHTER!! I'll explain. When my first daughter was born (have 2, delivered the last one myself in a hotel bathroom and have my name on her birth certificate to prove it as attending physician, no check as I refused to bill myself) I wanted her initials to be the same as mine KJR. Wife already had Kylie. So that left a "j" girl name. I didn't want anything common like Judy, joan,ect..Even trying to fit a Joe (remember Twister?) in there was to no avail. So I mentioned the name Jari (yar-E). It just so happened to be the name of Jarri Kurri of the the Edmonton Oilers. We got adventurous and removed one r and Jari it was. The Rolling Stones once sang "Time is on your side". So your still in the game. But they also wrote " You can't always get what you want". so maybe just maybe, if you try some time, you just might find..you get what you need...oohh baby!!! starts in C going to F if you want to try the opening chords. Good luck and you all be nice it's Christmas time here!!!! Joe, If you happen to be heading in a familiar direction that has inspired you to a new beginning..that you've rediscovered from the SWTA days. A great name for the CD would be ANOTHEN..or aanwqen from the new testament Greek lexicon meaning from above, from a higher place of things which come from heaven or God from the first, from the beginning, from the very first anew, over again. Just a thought. Remember that every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end. Face it Joe, Your not of this earth so the terminology would fit right into further explaining to the rest of us just how it is done and where it really comes from. You'd be getting us closer with some insight of where you call home. Like a K Pax kind of thing beam included. Hope all is well, B good and God Bless.

Kevin

Bmadd4..I saw joe talking about modes with his js1000 BP with white colored sketches of alien beings similar to the guitar straps. A buddy of mine has the rain forest design and it's I think that's awesome. I would love to have that design. I have a 1999 White JS1000 but won't custom it with anything as It's no longer made. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good nite!!!
