Hello. First I'd like to say Joe Satriani is an amazing guitarist, and this ... "Message" is for him. My name is Shawn and I am a self taught guitarist that has been playing for about three and a half to four years. I've always wanted guitar lessons but on the other hand I have always thought "Why take them since I've reached my skill level at such a short amount of time". I've come to realize (After watching and listening to some of my friends guitar work) That I need help. I don't know much of really anything. All I know how to do is read tabs. I call myself a rhythm guitarist but something is wrong with my pick hand (Right). You know when you hold a pick between you index finger and your thumb? Then go up and down on one string, or a set of stings really fast? I think it's called tremolo picking?) Well I can not do that to save my life. I try but my hand and my arm get tense with in seconds. Also, my fret board hand (Left) my fingers will not move as fast as I would like them to. They too tense up. It's really starting to get to me because I feel like a horrible guitarist. My other problem is getting lessons. I know I have to pay some one ... But with what? I'm not too good with money right now. It’s really bringing me down. Please, if there is anything I can do let me know. I really need help. Thank you.
