I finally got my signed SWTA booklet today, which means I'll now be giving away a signed copy of the Surfing Legacy edition on SatchNotes.com.

Everyone (non-US included) can enter by just emailing me any song or album info I don't already have on the site - it just needs to be attributed (and verified by me). The contest ends November 1st.

Sorry, I would post more, but Wolf2 keeps taking the words out of my mouth :-)

Here's an idea - Jon could make a real T2W that just works when Wolfie logs in. He would see some automatically randomly-generated messages from the familiar names here along with all his posts, where T2J would remain Wolf-free :-). And anyone who misses the Wolf's posts could also log into a special page to see all of his current thoughts.

slanshroom - just a joke. I really don't care. I read his crazy posts from time to time.

Ok, here's a better idea - you can check in your profile whether you want to see Wolf's posts or not :-) Actually, an "ignore user" feature might not be a bad idea...

BTW, anybody order the new Dream Theater book - Lifting Shadows?

DreamTheaterBook.com

It's expensive, but I broke down and bought it yesterday.

dream3 - cool. Yeah, I missed my name being in there by a good month or so :-)

There should be a similar book on Joe. I'd pay $300 for it... Even a book on instrumental guitarists would be awesome, with a chapter on Joe (kind of like the "Bang Your Head" book for 80's and 90's heavy metal with chapters on GNR, Metallica, etc.).

michelle - they're pretty good - seems kind of like a cross between The Outfield and Jimmy Eat World to me. That's really cool that your whole family is involved.

I promise this will be the last time I ever mention this, but contest entries have been sparse, so here's the spiel again, with a listing of songs I have no info on:

I'm giving away a signed copy of the SWTA Legacy edition CD/DVD over at SatchNotes. I'm having a really hard time finding new info now, so to enter, you'll need to send me verifiable song background information that is not already posted on the site (email me at webmaster@satchnotes.com)

I currently have no info at all about the following songs:
- (You're) My World
- Banana Mango II
- Belly Dancer
- Brother John
- Driving At Night
- Engines Of Creation (the song)
- Headless Horseman
- Hill Groove
- Home
- Hordes of Locusts
- The Journey
- Lights of Heaven
- Luminous Flesh Giants
- Mountain Song
- New Last Jam
- Oriental Melody
- Secret Prayer
- Seven String
- Sittin' Round
- Slow Down Blues
- Time Machine
- The Traveler
- What Breaks A Heart
- With Jupiter In Mind
- all the Nascar '06 tracks

A lot of these are from SBM, which Jon Luini is trying to help me out getting the listening party audio for me, but he's been busy and hasn't found it yet. And some of these I have info for somewhere, but can't find, but still, there's way too many songs here with no info. Please help!

boardbear2003 - I know I'm not Joe (far, far from it :-)), but Joe seems to be away at the moment - anyway, here's all I got on the song "Time" - the quote is from a 1996 live chat with Joe and the band, introducing the song for the first time:

"There was this tune that I did many years ago. Started out with Jeff Campitelli and John Cuniberti. We were working on the Surfing With The Alien CD, and I just couldn't get it together to finish the song. Many years later, I handed some tapes over to Eric Valentine to do some stuff with it. He put some drums, keyboards, fooled around with an ending. I put some extra guitar on it. We did this really crazy mix. It's a really cool song, but it didn't really fit on the new album, but I figured this [the web] would be a great place to put it out there. The name of the song is 'Time'. It's got performances on there that started in '87 and culminated in '94. Check it out."

Satriella - that's awesome that Paul Gilbert wrote to you. I keep thinking that Joe has written to me, but it's always "Joe Satrini" (you're killing me, Phil!! :-)).

boardbear2003 - here's the link with that interview:

Archive.org is so cool for that type of stuff, though they usually don't have working media links.

Joe - New album title suggestion: "Verbalize", 'cause your instrumentals are so lyrical :-) Or, "Lyrical" for a title might be good as well - the definition fits pretty well, I think - "Expressing deep personal emotion or observations". "Lyrics" or "Lyric" would work too, but that album should be all-instrumental :-)

Another suggestion: "Blue Traffic Lights", a take on the lyric from The Wind Cries Mary.

"Blue Text" would also be cool as a nod to T2J :-)

BTW, I'm glad to see you're working with Eric Caudieux again!

cheese101 - "We like our Mike, and this is why. Mike does all the work when the hills get high". Sorry, just catching up on all the posts...

Congrats to mouhsen (Satriani Forum) on winning an autographed SWTA CD/DVD over at SatchNotes.com.

BTW, I've added user comments back to SatchNotes, so feel free to comment on any song detail page.

Album title suggestion:

Disturbance of Mechanical Energy

(aka sound...)

You've also got the added bonus of having DOME as the acronym... :-)

Austin / Cheese - yeah, everything is fine personally. I just don't use this account anymore, and was an idiot and posted my real name on the bottom of almost every post, and ran into some problems because of it. Using the name "gruskada" was a bad idea, too.

Thanks for asking.

so webmaster, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could delete my account and all postings, etc.
