Just saying hi to everyone so...HI and of course to Satch an crew

Gotta say I only recently started learning guitar when I was 17ish (18 months) and a mate of mine said Satriani was "pretty good" After hearing my first Satch song "Summer Song" I proceeded to BEAT that mate with a large wet salmon for UNDERSTATING how awesome Satch music is. Ever since I started learning its all i've wanted to do but alas, I'm stuck looking for 9 to 5 jobs "yay!" -Note the sarcasum-

Heres hoping I get money for lessons :D then maybe become a tutor myself lol

Anyways just wanted to say Hi and thanks to Satch and everyone who helps create the music, can't count the nights i've sat by with a Satch/Vai CD/DVD in chilling.

I will say I find satch music more accessable than Vai, But still see the unreal work both put into the music and love both music the same. Vais music needs a open mind and a careful ear in which to truely get. But everyone I know who hears Satch love it. Both truely skilled in there chosen brush.

To everyone who reads this: Hope you are all well Peace Zed

RockChild

You don't need Joe to tell you how to become a "Guitar God" :)

Practise, Learn your Theory (scales etc), Make up excercises. get lessons. These few things will help you, If you want to be the best you can be it helps if you can practise alot.

Also use a Metronome and play with other people, It helps with timing and makes for fun practise sessions.

Also a passion for the instrument is the main thing you need, or at least should have.

For free lessions try http://www.cyberfret.com Thats your basic theory, scales, arps, chords etc. Also teaches some nice licks.

Good luck with that.

Shocking i actually take good care of my guitars but never lending them to friends again

Right, Panic...Shoot me please PLEASE... *sobs over sentimental strat*

962: No idea, all I can think of is that it was already damaged...Brought off a friend of a friend by my mum in USA. 18th birthday present... She sent it over and it cost a bomb to send.

Split up the neck-absolutly beautiful neck Wizard II is the best next i've used so far... Only got it in june-ish and i treat my guitars like my life depended on it. always in the case when out of use...

Girlfriends enjoying me moaping about... Won't be able to get a new guitar til next year now...Kills me it really does, especially as i played at least 6 hours a day everyday...

Still...life throws you the odd brick gotta roll with it, ill take up another hobbie...like...Cooking!...or....sleeping! lol

DelfinoPie

Well i lent both guitars to a mate but they wouldn't pay for a new one. Not exactly the greatest friends in the world... And sadly the wait for a new guitar will be very long, At least 4 months.

So it looks like im just going to have to wait really.

Well im going to go wrap up its like -1 here and im freeeeeeezin, might move pc closer to bed lol

laters all

I wish lol be a few years before i can get them... besides RGT's are very nice guitars the Prestige are somewhat beautiful. Just a few PAF's on them and you'd be shocked lol laters

962: Yeah I really like the sounds of the JS series its got a classic rock mixed with a punchy tone an the sound feels edgey when listening to it. Suits my playing style. I like the Jems sound but prefer the js Whats the JS neck profile like?

I did some upgrading to my strat before it broke i shaved the neck and put my RGT pickups on it etc was about to put a Lo-TRS II on it but the guitars scrwed :'(

i liked the Jem for its neck profile i did want the EVO pickups an all but would of probly put a couple of PAF pros or EMG 81/85 set on it. Altho recently i find EMG 81/85 way to sharp sounding...

I've come up with something to do while im guitarless.. before i found my love of guitars i taught myself about computers... As i will now be without a guitar for a very long time im going to take up a computer project.

I read some of Joe Satrianis posts talking about pirates....

I am going to see if i can come up with an uncrackable Audio CD... I keep on top of these issues always looking into them and play video games when times like these come up...

Starforce CD Protection is the best thing that i've ever seen UNCRACKABLE and beautiful creation in itself but denys people who buy the game to make a backup... I've damaged a few cds in my time and it hurts when you can't backup cds but alas its worth it if it stops pirates i suppose...

Musics different its hard to stop pirates. But if its possible i may be able to solve it.... I'd much rather be playing guitar but if i can create something of value it'd help artists such as Satch as well as upcoming people who lose money on these things. If the artist and corperations lose money it will result in stopping of production to a certain extent...

hope i can find something to help if i do i could post to webmaster and see if they can make use of it

The only other reason i'd go for an RGT or Jem is the neck-thru/aanj I find them more accessable but i tend to find bolt on heels more confortable and gives of a slight more classic rock tone.

Still it'll be awhile before i get a JS, i would go for an ol' fender but i really seriously got used to the floatin bridges Could get an RGT again that was a truely beautiful guitar, new pickups to replace the stock INF's and it would of been even more so. anyone in the UK want a RG case? lol no use for it perfect condition... I think its an M100 case...

Hi all Hope you'll doing well Just wanted to ask anyone with a JS1000/1200 ARE the bodys as THIN as they look??? I saw a pick of one and thought how the hell can a body so thin have sucha full beautiful tone.

I know its down to amps/effects/etc as well but that guitar has susTAIN with all those capital letters.

And new on my guitarlessness My girlfriend wants to get me one for christmas... Now all i gotta do is talk her out of it lol

as much as i love her, and love her thoughtfulness i can't let her do that.

My first guitar was a birthday present so was my second..my beautiful RGT42 that got damaged.

But this time i need to earn a guitar (if someone hires me...aspergers syndrome ain't a thing people like to hear)

But anyways back on the JS subject I just watched the live in frisco dvd, i almost cried on Love Thing... won't be the first time i've broken tear over guitar...

Also people WATCH OUT on ebay... JEM7VWH selling on there for CHEAP in the 200GBP... Its MOST PROPABLY A FAKE... BE CAREFUL IF YOU BID I hate it when people get ripped off or scammed over a guitar its heartbreaking...

Peace people take care

Also to add something STU!!!! I mean...damn he really is a great player! Moonlight sonata on bass... i tried learning that on guitar when i first started playing... Ain't attempted it since lol :P I love classical music... LOVE classical...i only admit that here because my friends are "Death metal heads" or "punkers". None of my friends listen to anythin i do lol

'Also i'd like to qoute one of my friends stupidity... "Hendrix wasn't all that great...He was just black and high at the right time"

I almost KILLED this person who said that...

Hendrix was an awesome guitarist (RIP) and his IDOL who was Dimebag (Also RIP) he was partly influenced by hendrix.

Hendrix was a great blueist and a true musician....and i love that guy....He had a soothing voice as well... Anyone here seen woodstock vid of him playing?

Awesomeness at its most awesome

**PS that qoute was not made by me, but by a foolish person and it probably will bring offence to everyone who loves music. i just wish to say im just showing you how thick one of my friends is and i apologize on his behalf....for him being hollow....and if you wish to beat him with a large wet salmon i can tell you where he works :P**
