HI all! Brand spankin' new fan here so be gentle lol

I'm a long-time Bowie fan, got into Earl Slick when I saw him with Bowie on the Reality tour, and his work got me interested in so much more (so here I am). I hope that's ok to say on a Satriani site, but why not eh? If you're a music fan, then you eventually get to the good stuff, even if some of us took too long to get there. Thought I'd check out this site and was blown away by some of the stuff I've heard so far... so much more to go.

I dove right in, registered and bought tickets to the Toronto show -looking forward to it.

Any tips for a newbie? Where do I begin? Can't buy all the CDs at once :( any recommendations?

Cool site too, but a lot of stuff here to check out, so any advice on that would be welcome too.

Oh, and I already know "I'm a newbie" posts aren't cool, co you don't have to tell me that one -sorry if I piss anyone off for that.

SteveeT -I know, I'd like to get them all, but I've started with ordering Anthology, Satch Tapes DVD and Surfing with the Alien. Of course, pre-ordered Super Colossal. wtf with living in Canada though, looks like it'll take a while to get some of them here. :-(

Satriella -thanks also for sayin' hi; one never knows how different boards work, there are some mb's that I've been on that are are quite nasty. Good to know Joe's fans here are cool. Checked out your work btw, WOW, I'm impressed. Really love the Bowie sketch and many others too!

Holy S*it! I come back to this site and there's pages and pages of posts. Sheesh... not enough time to catch up, but I did catch a few show reviews... sounds promising. Just a couple of days before my first time ever seeing Joe live. Can't wait!!!

Oh, and SATRIELLA, cute how you're trying to get Joe to post here. I agree it might be nice to get a hello, although I'm sure the lad is a bit busy these days. ;-)

I’m a new fan and it was my first time seeing you live, so I’m not familiar with all the work, but I have to say… you rocked my socks off! I was a bit worried about my hubby… I drag him along to concerts, but we both had a blast. I’m not too familiar with your audiences and I thought the Toronto crowd seemed a bit laid back… took a lot to get them to their feet at the end, or was it just that I was antsy to get up and move to the music? ;-)

Not only did my ears get a treat (they’re still buzzing) :-), you’re also a pleasure to watch on stage. You seem so comfortable and totally "in the zone". Most importantly, you genuinely look like you’re having a great time and that translates to the audience. I know I had a huge smile across my face the entire night… what more can a person ask?
