Met Joe for the first time in person last night at a Guitar store in San Diego down the street from my house. It was even cooler than I expected it would be. And JOE ?..........well what can one say about how cool he is. There was a long line of perhaps 500 people or more and they finally had to stop letting people get in line because Joe had to go talk on a radio show later in the evening. I got in line at about 4:15 and Joe came on at 5pm and stayed until at least 8pm I would guess. he started by taking questions from the crowd. He must have signed his name more than 1500 times at least. I left at 7:30 after the drawing for the signed js1200 was over. When it was my turn to meet Joe I sort of got star struck and tounge tired. I had trouble believeing that I was actually shaking hands with the master himself and talking with him. All I could think of to say at the time was " Hi Joe". Then I got my composure back and he signed some stuff for me and I managed to ask a question. I asked him where he gets those totally cool hats of his and he told me. I said thanks and goodbye and went on my way. It was worth every second of the wait in line and I would do it again tomorrow. He is the very coolist ever in my mind. What a great guy and an awsome guitar player. May he live long and prosper.

Went and saw Joe from 4th row tonight .....awsome show. I knew all the new songs and he played the like the master he is...............sorry but he made Eric Johson sound like a garage band and I like Eric a lot. Erics version of Hendrix was exelent as well and many of his tunes..........still,Joe burned the house down with his perfect playing and stage presence........the alien was surfing in San Diego like there was no tomorrow...........The 7 friends that I got tickets for and talked into going Praised me for my brilliant idea of going to see the Best Guitar player on earth........ok the best in the universe...let's best honest shall we? Joe was as cool as ever naturally and I relish the day when I can go again and witness it in person.....You just have not lived untill you see and hear him when he really cuts loose in the flesh with the sound of real Guitar speakers and a Fat venue in which to see it up close.

I see ya down there Magnason.........your Right. The sound man was blowing it. I could hardly hear Joe's Guitar the first three songs. Bass was way to loud. It seemed to get much better as the show went on....at least from where I was sitting...........other than that blunder Joe was bitchen.
