Hi Joe, I caught your concert in Los Angeles on May 6 at the Wiltern Theater. I was the African-American woman leaning against the rail just a few feet from the stage, grooving like mad at your extraordinary playing. It was the fourth time I had seen you in concert. What was so cool about it was when you looked over at me while you were playing "Surfing with the Alien" and said to me, "I see you over there," while I was going ballistic with excitement. That comment made my year! I lost an opportunity to meet you back stage because I was unable to make the connection with a woman named "Kiki," whom I had never met, but who assured me through a mutual friend that she would be able to take me back stage. Alas, it didn't happen. But, hey, your acknowlegement of me from the stage was good enough. I have loved intrumental rock guitar for many years. My father is a blues guitarist and I literally listened to the blues while I was in my mother's womb. My maternal grandfather played guitar for the late 30's, early 40's quintet band called The Five Jones Boys. They were featured at times on NBC radio and even closed The Gene Autry Show from time to time. So the guitar is in my blood. Keep up the extraordinary work. Your band is one of the finest bands I have ever heard. I was just below the bassist (at the Wiltern). Let him know that I think he could give bassist extraordinaire Verdeen White of Earth, Wind, and Fire a run for his money (smile). Your music moves me, warms me, turns me on, makes me reflective, makes me dance, and makes me play air guitar like nobody's business! Love ya, Rosalind

Thanks for the info about Jason Becker. Watching the video conjured up so many emotions within me, ranging from anger, to pride, to inspiration, to hurt, to sadness, to love. It all seems so unfair for such a guitar god to have been stricken with that crippling disease. So, yeah, I'll use Jason's story to propel me forward when I feel like giving up. Jason didn't give up. His mind is still super active. His physical body is limited. But his mental and spiritual prowesses are way ahead of any physical limitations he has.
