Joe- Very excited for new album. Thanks for the sneak peeks at the songs. What inspired you to use an acoustic guitar so much on this album? Do you find yourself turning to other instruments than your trademark JS for different ways of expression?

Joe- SBM is one of your best records. I enjoyed listening straight through it last night. Starry Night is going to win that Grammy for you. I'm amazed at how you continue to increase your boundaries and switch between styles so swiftly. You're an amazing musician and you have blown me away once again.

Joe, I have to know!! Where did the song "Engines of Creation" come from? What inspired it? That is one of the deepest, most intense songs ever!!! Please let me know.

Joe, any idea who will be on G3 in 2003 with you? Also what inspired you to write the song Engines of Creation? Sorry about Pearly. Did you ever find Donnie or Rainforest?

For Adun- "I am become death" is a quote from the Tibetan Book of the Dead. The guy who invented the atom bomb quoted that the first time he saw the bomb tested. "I am become death--the destroyer of worlds"

dragonchild- I agree with the resemblance of Joe and Jerry Seinfeld (Nicholas Cage too). A friend of mine who lived in New York for a while. Anyway, I showed him a picture of me and Joe and he said, "that guy's from New York."
I'm not sure what that meant, but apparently Joe resembles a lot of people, from New York.

r6r- what stuff did you start off with playing? It was Metallica that originally got me to pick up the guitar. Then, when I found out that Kirk took lessons from a guy named Joe Satriani, I figured I'd look into it. Needless to say, that took me into a different world.
Tendinitis sucks!!! I always have to start off slow and simple when I play and then gradually build up more speed and stretches. And my wrist still hurts sometimes!!

NWOBHM? Yeah! Diamondhead, Blitzkrieg, Misfits. I wasn't really aware of it when it was happening (I was in grade school). But I've read about it. That's what influenced a lot of my influences (so I'm a 2nd generation NWOBHM'er)

r6r- gotcha. I was a wee one at the onset of NWOBHM and I only learned about it in retrospect.
Lately I've really been into the NWOJS!
Joe- Was listening to "I Believe" last night. My wife's comments on it were thus, "I think that's one of the most beautiful songs ever written. It's just a normal person singing out what they believe. It's not over produced, it's just sincere." So, good job!

Joe- I've been watching LISF again over the last few days. I agree with you: a live DVD is the best instructional video anyone could do. Keep 'em comin' (with a twist).
