You will never guess what I stumbled apon today...

Guitar Legends, EXPO 92: Sevilla.

I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it, and its amazing how different joe looks and how different his playing style was back in 92. He has come a very long way since then for sure.

I'm totally hanging out for when Joe makes an appearance down here in New Zealand. Front row tickets, hell yeah!

I've owned a guitar since I was about 12, which was 7 years ago and I've only really been trying to learn properly in the last 2 years. See... I have this problem. I'll pick up the guitar and sometimes spend hours playing, improvising or what ever... I might do this regularly for a couple of weeks but then I reach a point where I just don't know what to do, what to play, what to read or what to learn, or even how to. It's because of that, that I end up putting the guitar down and by the time I pick it up next, I'm back at square one!.

Its been like that for the last 2 years and I've come to the conclusion that I'll have to get proper lessons otherwise I'll just be stuck in this same hole for more years to come.

Anyway, enough of that.

Basically I just wanted to say (if you stumble across this Joe), that I'm very impressed at how far you've progressed and I'll be happy if I could ever be even half the guitarist you are.

Keep on rockin and I hope to see you down in kiwi-land some time.

I have just returned home from a great weekend in New Plymouth (New Zealand). I live 6 hours north (by bus) in Auckland. I attended Club Joe as well as his stage performance last night at the TSB Stadium.

It was the first Satriani concert that I have ever been to and it was definately worth it. During the show it felt as if there wasn't enough preperation before the show for the band to sound test but still a great show considering. The turn-out was great (in my opinion) and everybody was reasonably well behaved. Thanks to Club Joe I now have my beautiful Ibanez guitar signed and I will forever be playing it day after day.

To all those who havn't yet had the chance to see Joe in concert I really hope the time comes when you can. He does such a great job at entertaining and manages to express through his music the way that he feels and has felt at times.

Its late now and I have work in the morning but I couldn't resist posting some feedback in the hopes that during Joe's busy schedule he may stumble across this message because I'm sure all the positive feedback and encouragement will help keep him inspired so that we may all continue to enjoy his music for years to come.

I sure hope Satriani does come back to New Zealand because I would very much like the chance to see him perform once more.

Thank's Joe for Inspiring me to play. Through your advice I will overcome my nervousness and I hope to share my music with the rest of the world as you have done.

Best Wishes and a late Happy Birthday. Owen Moore.

Joe, If you happen to read this by any chance:

It would be really great if you followed along the same line as Steve Vai with his Naked Tracks. I love your music so much and would really like to have some "quality" backing tracks to play along to.

I'm sure there are many others who also share my opinion.

Right now I'm currently spending time working on Down Down Down. Such a great song to learn. Not too fast, plenty of feel. Tons of emotion.

I'm not likely to see any responses posted here as I rarely keep up with all the messages. Email me though, if you ever respond to my request.

Regards, Owen.
