Personal apology to Joe, i played Surfing With The Alien at my 8th Grade talent show yesterday and my wah batteries died, so when i got into the mid to treble region it sounded like it was plugged in backward, i finally turned it off during solo #2 and all sound went away, so i had to play it all with a muffy bass wah sound.....sorry i made people think you sound bad......personal apology.........and also,..........i realized people at our school don't respect music for music......as in........we had a guy play wolfmother....it was awesome......no one liked it.........girl played simple little metallica power chord stuff.....it wasnt good,.....just really distorted......everyone thought she was the best...........girl played a prelude and stoccata beautifully.........no cheering........it was really sad joe, im quite sorry

anyone know if "One Big Rush: The Genius of Joe Satriani" is an official Joe release or just a compilation?

nah, Gustavo Guerra's good, but he shouldn't be considered for G3.

Dude.....sorry for the snubbing at the grumpy awards Joe, Springsteen's song sucked and shouldn't have even qualified for best ROCK instrumental.....wow....that was sad and disturbing. Oh yeah, not to mention the performance on the live CD you did......was amazing, did you just write that on the spot?!

Ok, has anyone else ever though about this?.......Joe should do a jazz album sometime....because he could easily be the most outstanding jazz guitarist ever if he recorded it....and maybe give ZZ some early attention on that sax.....

Hey, just wonderin, is there any chance that Joe's fans will get to be hearing Joe's solo stuff or maybe a G3 tour anytime in the future?...or has Chickenfoot completely taken over the world?

scubadaz: Yeah, thanks, i found that out too. I'm just really yearning for some good old (new) Satriani stuff. Chickenfoot's great, but I just need to hear the master be the master again. And maybe bring Petrucci out on a G3 Tour with him:) I'm too young to have ever gotten to see Satch before. And I want to see Satch, not Chickenfoot, you know?

scubadaz: yeah, i'm sure it's incredible. Its just I need to see my favorite artist for the past few years, who's never come close enough to North Dakota for that to work at my age. Now that i'm getting old enough for that to be a possibility he's found something he likes better but it's not my favorite musician's music if i see that. Sure, he wrote pretty much everything Chickenfoot did, but it's different. You understand right?

Scubadaz: Agreed. I don't practice enough. I do have some nice prolific 9-12 hour days, but my daily routine is way too short. And I never do warm ups. I just get the blood circulating other ways and maybe run through Petrucci's Glasgow Kiss once and then i'm off to my terribleness.

minimoog: thanks dude, it's actually a great song to practice real slow and speed up because of how Petrucci alternate picks across the strings.. ...and i still use sheets a bit, cuz that last solo is ridiculous if you think you're going to play note for note. But you should take a look at the main riffs. Intro is great practice for alternate picking, little hard rocking bridge before soft section is awesome for rhythmic displacements, and otherwise, the rest is just great for melodic ideas. Promise you you can play it too, it's not like i picked up and played it out of nowhere, lots of practice goes into that song.

Alright, i'm probably the only satch fan who doesn't know this answer, so could one of you t2j'ers tell me what "S.M.F." stands for? I heard one idea, which i don't think i'm allowed to write, can anyone tell me for sure?

minimoog: i'm in total agreement. Vai, Malmsteen, are the two biggies. But what about guys that aren't amazing? What about when some rock guitarist comes around and just thinks he's Jesus Christ on the guitar? At least Malmsteen's got the chops to show for it. And yeah, I agree with the taste thing. I can listen to Vai, not watch him. Satch, Johnson, the humble ones.....awesome. And John Petrucci....that guy almost looks scared on stage. I have to think that's a fine bit of humility in him.

Agreed TURBO. I'm especially interested in the plans after the CF tour is over.

I'm glad to hear the Coldplay case is over, i just hope it went the right way. The fact that it ended while Joe's on tour worries me a bit.
