ciao Joe! I just want to thank you for your music which has been such a good companion to me since I knew you until today. it wishes me goodnight, provides me with new energy, tells me that happiness and ease are always within reach, proves that tenderness has its own strength and it's not something invented by my brain to lessen restlessness. so thank you for all this! now two questions for you: 1) do you know anything about your italian origins? there are at least two small villages in southern italy called Satriano and I'm used to to drive thru one of these in summer when I go to the seaside and see my grandma. could it be that our ancestors played briscola together? 2)what do you think about Fripp's music? do you think you will ever make some music together? he's always been one of my favourites and it was not at all enough to see you in Milan during G3 2004: too many notes remained unsaid by Fripp's guitar. can you (or would you like to) persuade him to play as he can do together with you? but for now I count the days to listen to your new cd and see you on stage in milan. a big kiss and have a nice xmas!

Dear Joe, your music is really too much beautiful to make it run so fast! Thank you for last night in Milan! Listen to Adrian Belew was great too! Thanx also for the night in Masada. I know you weren’t, but I was there last August, in a hostel, at the foot of the mountain. We had planned to move at four next morning, walk up to the top and see the dawn from there. That night I couldn’t get a wink of sleep. I got up and started reading, trying to get some, but nothing to do. At two I suddenly realized I had some of your music in my cellular phone. I took it and went upstairs, out on the terrace. Why should I’d fallen asleep? I took a chair, put my feet on the table and earphones on…That was fine! The gentle insomnia, the friendly bad cough, the black and white cat looking for something to eat was rumbling rummaging into the trashcan, hot wind blowing, pale stars dimmed by damp, silence all around, your wonderful clear notes filling the black wide sky and running jumping thru all the Judean desert, from top to top of rocky dunes…I think those stones still remember "The forgotten"! What a great night!...and after having seen the dawn from there, I went up to the top of Masada smoothly and easily by cable car! Many kisses, Caterina.
