if there are people out there that have not been joe fans for long some other really cool guitar players are Steve Vai, john petrucci (dream theater), eric johnson, yngwie malmsteen, and paul gilbert. there are a lot of bands i would never have heard about if my neighbor didnt tell me about joe satriani. we got into an argument about who the best guitar player in the world was. i said jimi hendrix was the best and my neighbor said joe satriani was the best. Jimi was the best guitar player of his era but it is hard to decide who is the best when there are Steve Vai, john petrucci (dream theater), eric johnson, yngwie malmsteen, and paul gilbert to chose from as well as joe satriani.
i cant wait till the new album comes out.

i have been going through some of the posts people have put up and the posts joe and i would like to say that there are a few people that actually care. i live in a town with a bunch of rich snobby people and my family doesnt even make $10,000 a yaer this is a really cool websit and i am going to post often.
joe you are a great guy to actually care enought to talk to people when they have problems.
thank you.
i hope i can someday see you live. i hope you come to a state close to maine. (maine is not mportant enough to have big band concerts)

canchito----- i dont have a computer at my home so i didnt get to check if anyone had written me back. i just wanted to say thanks for tyhe names of the other guitar players. i love listening to any music with a guitar. i agree with what you said about jeff beck i have one of his cds but i didnt know any quotes he said.

does anybody know how to explain rythm on guitar i can play a lot of songs but i have to listen to the songs while i play or my timing is way off. the only things i can play with good timing are fast and quick licks or riffs

thanks how long have you been playing guitar? i got one of john petrucci's guitar books that comes with a cd and he says the same thing i just dont understand rythm my neighbor used to make fun of me i cant even tap my foot to the music.
anybody seen the movie the jerk?
