Wow, you guys post fast. Thanks for the welcome. Someone down the line asked me about favorite Satch songs... I'd say Always With Me, Always With You, Summer Song, Satch Boogie, Friends, Home... it's a long list. Each song has merit in some way, and there's something to learn from all of them. I like a number of the other virtuoso guitarists: Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, etc. I can listen to most things, but I gravitate towards rock/blues/jazz mostly. Just saw Rush a few weeks ago, that was a good show.
So anyway, how's everyone doing?

I have not seen Satch live yet, but I just bought a Club Joe ticket for his Atlanta show in October, which just so happens to be on my birthday.
What's the problem with mentioning Rush?

They should be on the cover. They should also be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Favorite album by Rush... Moving Pictures of course, and I really love 2112 as well.
What kind of guitars/basses do you all play?

All good albums. I really like Signals, even though it's kind of a random album. They played Digital Man at the show, which was cool. Second on the setlist actually.
Is anyone else here seeing Joe in Atlanta October 26th, by any chance?

Revan- I'd recommend Moving Pictures; that has several of their biggest hits on it. 2112 is considered their first masterpiece, and a definitive album. There's also a "best of" kind of a thing; either Retrospective is great.
Stu- I've heard good things about Washburns. I have a white Steve Vai signature that I bought very barely used for $400. I saw the ad and jumped on the opportunity.
Michelle- That is one of the best things I've ever witnessed.

The Jump solo is indeed awesome. Isn't Eddie back in rehab?
Been learning "Tears in the Rain"... very well put-together song, I think, and a little different from Joe's usual style. I'm always glad to see versatility in a musician.

Sweet. I may use it for an audition to a music school here in a few months, I dunno. Do you guys think Eric Johnson would qualify as jazz?
Hooray, I get to redeem stuff for my ticket package. Yeah, Farnoush, I'm excited about seeing Joe also. Even though it will be in October for me. It's my first time.

Keniko- I'm doing good, how are you? I'd love to hear your version. You can email it to me at jgmurphy@students.berry.edu. Thanks.
Zinc- What'd you think of Batman?

20th anniversary Ibanez video; that's a lot of awesome all on one stage.
Buckethead is a strange man. I used to listen to him a lot.

Buckethead is really eclectic; there's really no telling what you're going to hear when you put a new album on. I like Buckethead well enough when he puts his mind to being a little more melodic, rather than just thrashing.
Anyone here know of Neil Zaza? Another very good instrumental guitarist, not too many people I've talked to know of him.
