I can see putting Solitude on repeat with Z.Z.'s Song, Brother John, and Baroque... maybe Tears In The Rain too

BSAWW IS IN THE HOUSE!

Actually received it about an hour ago and had to run some errands, but I cheated and went straight for Wormhole Wizards. Awesome track, and I think it may possibly remain my favorite from this CD. Listening to the rest now! I have the afternoon off, and now have this. What a great way to kick off the weekend!

JOE
Thanks so much for offering this autographed copy of the album!!!
Thanks for sharing another great work of musical artistry!!!
Thanks for giving us the opportunity to get our hands on it early!!!

Can't wait for the live concert in Chicago!!!

I'm on my second listen of the whole CD & I'm thoroughly digging Premonition & Dream Song. The Wind In The Trees is a great song. I think that is the only one I hadn't heard at least a snippet of...
Heck, there isn't one less than stellar track. I think this is quite a diverse selection.

Bravo Joe.

Freaking genius

5 STARS

I've been wanting to post all day but have been too busy....

Went to Best Buy as soon as they opened this morning and bought my second copy of BSAWW (with the bonus tracks)!
Both Heartbeats and Longing are great songs. I have listened to them about 30 times each and I think Longing is now somewhere near the top of my favorites list for this album. I think he nailed the feeling he was going for, and I agree this is some of his most expressive playing on this track.

JOE - PLEASE include Longing and Heartbeats in the concert setlist! They are too beautiful to exclude.

What is it about the bonus tracks? Just call them bonus tracks and I think that almost instantly makes them faves. Ghosts and Dog With Crown & Earring are good examples :)

Man, another great day in the world of Satchtopia.

Austin
Thanks for the info from the concert!
It's crazy the list of older songs he's playing, and WHY is absolutely one of my favorites too.
I hadn't been on the board since last night, and just a short while ago I put the Not of This Earth album on after listening to some Dethklok.... quite hilarious considering Hordes of Locusts is on that one, and no joke... about 20 seconds after reading your post, Memories started playing.

I'm really anxious to see which songs from BSAWW will be included.

Guess this issue is pretty minor considering I have been able to get the autographed preorder CD (4 days early), and the Best Buy release with bonus tracks on release date, but I just noticed something really strange....

I put the CD w/ bonus tracks in our PS3, and it only recognizes the first 11 tracks... I made sure I had the right CD in... how weird. Oh well.

Pretty thrilled to hear that Joe played (and sang) Big Bad Moon last night.

Is it December yet?

Tracie,
Thanks so much for the report and setlist!! Glad you all had an awesome time. I hope Joe decides to include Longing. Surely sounds like a mind blowing show. Do you have a pic of the concert tee and/or beanie hat?

That's hilarious! Our family's first Joe show was the exact same one at the Chicago Theatre. I believe we'll actually be sitting next to you at the December BSAWW show.

Finally had a chance to sit down and tinker around with working out bits of the new album on my guitar. Got my JS tuned down to E flat and started with Wormhole Wizards, Wind in the Trees, and God Is Crying. Just working on main riffs and a bit of the melodies.... having fun just figuring out where Joe's at, how some of the songs are put together, and perhaps what might have been going on in his head when he wrote them. Has he said what gauge strings he's using on this one? I thought I remember hearing that he went to 10s for Chickenfoot. I'm using D'Addario XL 9s.

cosmic_ape - take a look at the podcast for Wormhole Wizards. That's where I was able to really see they're in Eb (including Allen Whitman on bass)

I still think it's my favorite track on the album, with Longing at a close second.

Austin - curious what you think of Longing, considering you're another big fan of Why (as am I)

turbo236 - I asked Joe about the single coil back in March after his performance at Sweetwater sound. I had seen him the week prior during the Experience Hendrix show in Chicago. I had been meaning to type up all the details about it, but did ask at the time if it would be coming out as a production model, but he wasn't sure at that time.
(I had also asked Mike Manning [Joe's tech] after the Chicago EH show if he thought it would be coming out, and he thought maybe yeah)

If I remember correctly, the single-coil was a prototype that dated back before the JS1200, but the 1200 just came together quicker. (I'll have to check the video I took with my phone to recall all the details)

The blue of the single-coil in concert is BLINDING (In a good way)

Peace, T2J crew!!!

EDIT:
Enjoy! - I asked him, and here is some of the general info on the single coil direct from Joe back on 3/22/10:

"On tour I've got an alder wood version one, and the blue one that you saw me play is the basswood version one, and that does sound better."

"Yeah, it's basswood, it's got these new DiMarzio pickups in 'em, a chopper and two fast tracks. It sounds really great, we didn't have those pickups back when we were working on the guitar originally, so it was really the R&D for the 2400 that led me to bring out the prototype and try these new pickups. So Steve Blucher from DiMarzio sent those to me and uh, I like the maple neck is nice. The frets are a bit small for me, so it's a little harder for me to bend notes, but it was no time to get the thing refretted in time for the tour so..."

finally picked up the December issue of Guitar World with JOE on the cover! Actually 2 copies (one for me, and one for my son) Still have yet to read it all, but lots of JS content including a video lesson I believe.

Though he's been playing over a year, I thought it was only fitting that my son's first guitar magazine had Joe on the cover... just like my first guitar magazine did. Feb '88 Guitar Player magazine (that I still own!) :)
