Grant - good news on the JS guitar! Sounds like you're keeping busy as usual. Is the race in Huntington a 5k?

Guitarman77897 - I've recently been a Buckethead junkie... Great jams. I'll probably see you in Chicago.

Hey Joe,

Can you please play WORMHOLE WIZARDS and possibly LONGING at the Chicago show? We truly enjoy those two gems and would be very appreciative if you would consider including those in the Chicago set list.

Thanks & Happy Holidays!!

I truly hope Joe plays WORMHOLE WIZARDS for the Chicago show... I think dissappointed would best sum up not getting to hear the title track from the album (and my personal favorite, along with LONGING)...

I wonder why it fell of the set list as of late???

Phydeaux_3 - have a great time and be careful pal! Hope you crazy Canadians represent and blow the roof off the place! My daughter read somewhere recently that Canada is similar to the USA, but that Canadians were "smug" haha :) We had a good laugh.

Mr Smooth - may have already been general info on the blue single-coil prototype guitar, as I've been off the grid a bit... here is a repost of some info I had and posted back in 2010 :)

turbo236 - I asked Joe about the single coil back in March after his performance at Sweetwater sound. I had seen him the week prior during the Experience Hendrix show in Chicago. I had been meaning to type up all the details about it, but did ask at the time if it would be coming out as a production model, but he wasn't sure at that time. (I had also asked Mike Manning [Joe's tech] after the Chicago EH show if he thought it would be coming out, and he thought maybe yeah)

If I remember correctly, the single-coil was a prototype that dated back before the JS1200, but the 1200 just came together quicker. (I'll have to check the video I took with my phone to recall all the details)

The blue of the single-coil in concert is BLINDING (In a good way)

Peace, T2J crew!!!

EDIT: Enjoy! - I asked him, and here is some of the general info on the single coil direct from Joe back on 3/22/10:

"On tour I've got an alder wood version one, and the blue one that you saw me play is the basswood version one, and that does sound better."

"Yeah, it's basswood, it's got these new DiMarzio pickups in 'em, a chopper and two fast tracks. It sounds really great, we didn't have those pickups back when we were working on the guitar originally, so it was really the R&D for the 2400 that led me to bring out the prototype and try these new pickups. So Steve Blucher from DiMarzio sent those to me and uh, I like the maple neck is nice. The frets are a bit small for me, so it's a little harder for me to bend notes, but it was no time to get the thing refretted in time for the tour so..."

Thanks for the preview!!! Now for the post of random thoughts!

I was cautiously optimistic after only hearing "A Door Into Summer" and had to give it a few listens before truly warming up to it as more than just a safe, happy song. It is a good track and certainly has a place in the lineup.

Everything else I've heard on the album is top notch, and definitely has classic and renaissance Joe. :) Assuming that the tracks in the preview are in the same order as they appear on the album, "Can't Go Back" is one of my early favorites.... KILLER USE OF WAH, in true Joe form! (I'm pulling the JS1000 out today and my 535Q and taking a stab at it! hehe) ;)

"Jumpin' In" is a solid jam as well and shines when he hits the bridge.

Portions of "Lies and Truths" seem to have some roots from a few of the Big Bad Wah demo tracks, particularly the last three JAM mixes:
VOX Big Bad Wah tracks

I think "Three Sheets To the Wind" and "I'll Put a Stone On Your Cairn" are both truly soulful masterpieces...

I really enjoy the full, warm, and complex melodies Joe brings to the table this go around. (Well, every go around I guess... hehe) It seems crazy it's been 2 1/2 years since BSAWW came out! Among others from that one, the bonus track "Longing" from BSAWW was a beauty and sang to the heavens...

I really hope some tour dates in the midwest are added! (think Chicago, Indy, or St. Louis)

Thank you Joe for another chapter in your story.

I hope you are doing well. I'm sure it must be very unsettling right now with the events in Ukraine. How do most of you in Donetsk wish to see your country sway? Are your countrymen in favor of less or more Russian involvement? May there be a peaceful resolution and positive outcome for you, your family, and your people.

Hello to all the other Joe fans (and JOE!) Glad to see the upcoming book release, will have to check that out.

Happy Birthday Joe!! (belated)

New album sounds like it will be another great one. Thanks for another addition to the soundtrack of our lives, for which you are always a part of.

Hey fellow T2J crew, hope all are doing well and enjoying life!

My vote for G3 is Buckethead... just sayin'

Hello all! Peace Lily, hope you are ok and take care to not have another attack!

As far as the album goes, I like it pretty well... one thing I am definitely reminded of is how relatively diverse (while staying in the same genre) some of Joe's music is (even across a pseudo-concept album)

My instant favorites on this one are:
If There Is No Heaven
All of My Life
Shockwave Supernova
Lost In a Memory
On Peregrine Wings
Cataclysmic

The others are enjoyable too, just need a few more listens to settle in. Funny to see other Joe fans' preferences as I sometimes find others that like songs I'm not as partial to, and vice-versa.. Yet we all agree on the artist. What a daunting task he has, putting out music with continued appeal over such a long career... no one-hit wonder here! LOL :)
