Pip55 - I keep my fingers crossed for a new Satch solo album asap. Hoped for end this year after summer recording, but it's true Joe releases mostly in Q1 of year before tour.
Alan - why don't you have latest Vai DVD yet? Buy 15 beers less and you have it.... Exellent playing and superior quality of sound and vision. Did you go to see him on that tour?
Jeff Beck - may he show how it's done for many more years!
For guitar geegs like us I recommend It might get loud with Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White. Just got it last week. The way the Edge and JW look at Jimmy when he plays it's clear who is guitar royalty, really funny to see. A warning though: it will make you want to buy more gear, specially stompboxes!
On the (rather old) subject of fav Satch tunes: -Up in flames- and -Overdriver- always get me moving. Hard driven stuff. Rattles my balls, so now.... I will play -Overdriver- from Live in Paris for the rest of the day! (Stu's bass sounds deeper than ever) Bye.

Youtube: Andulasia (Live In Paris DVD 2010)
(yes a lot of those bloody childish FX: sometimes it's realy beautiful coloring (4:43) of stage/musicians view, but covering all with "tie-dye" or fractal paterns (5:34), no thanks! It's too bad, because this DVD has some stunning camera angles and close-ups, so it's exactly the one that didn't need much FX added or "fast and exciting" editing)
Listening to the CD -all day!- doesn't have those distractions :-)

New Music Man JPX-6: very sexy.
This new signature model is being released to commemorate 10 years of collaboration with Dream Theater guitar player John Petrucci. But ehm... £ 2675 = € 3054 = $ 4260

Remember: you can always listen to the CD 8-)
but it would have been great if LIP was more the registration style of Vai's latest (HD), but with the cool on stage camera work on LIP
Blue Moon: do you also prefer the smaller 6105 frets on JS1200?

JS1200 specs:
Frets: 6105 frets
"The 25.5 inch scale length neck is made of maple and has a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has 22 frets with abalone dot inlays. The radius is about 9.4 inches (240mm) which is about the same as the standard necks used in Stratocasters. The frets are a little smaller in width of a Medium Jumbo. The fret wire used is 6105 which is narrow yet tall and whose width is small but the fret height is about the same as jumbo frets. They are larger than that found on the earlier Fender necks and a little smaller than the true jumbo frets." I remember reading somewhere Joe likes the feel of vintage necks with smaller frets, therefore the 6105. My jumbo frets on my RG2570 are to big for my taste so that's why I'm looking into the JS1200.

★ That baby cake is sick. Should eat it in a Stephen King kinda way..... or at least have bloodred filling
★ Haven´t listened to anything else than LIP since I got it, or as Skip says: 100% rotation. And I may add: LOUD
★ I´m over 40, Joe´s over 50, And I don´t think we´re gonna leave
★ In creative work, like a new dvd, it´s a good sign when loads of discussion arises. It means you´ve pushed the boundaries. After some of my lightshows people went berserk. When doing a show with Third World I used purple and blue next to red-green-yellow.... sacrilege!
★ Thanks for the link to the Grammy interview and that great Slims video.
★ If you like Mermen you may also like 35007. Turn that upsidedown and you have....
Trippy, stonerrock, call it what you want. Or like they write: "Be prepared, as 35007 catapults your head into the next dimension. 35007 is a state of mind." (also on iTunes)
★ The dimpled one :-)
★ ★ Sun shines, birds whistle, daylight till 17.45, can it be......spring coming??????? ★ ★

In AWM, AWY on Live In Paris I hear hints of Jeff Beck-style fragile emotional playing during the 'verses'. Góód signs of an ageing, growing guitarist!

smokintonye I'm no JSX owner or expert but it sounds like your footswitch has a crack in the cable, or a bad soldering connection in the footpedal or plug.

Skip it is usually a promotor contacting an artist's management. The promotor judges if he can sell enough tickets to cover the cost of bringing a band over and make a profit. How big is the potential audience, what is the artists' fee, what do plane tickets and hotels cost, etc. The other way around: sometimes a record company wants to have a band tour a certain area / country / part of the world and contacts and offers the band to local promotors to set it up. But being in demand comes first most of the time. Often just before or after release of something to sell. It's music industry.
If you google on What does a promotor do? you can find more. So if a band comes down under is determined by costs and size of potential audience. Profit. Business.

★ And than the best Roo speechless speech ever! ★
Ah we have a self appointed moderator again.....
Can't seem to find Rialtons request for his help though. Maybe Rialton understands my support for his chat revive attempts, since I answered his request to go there immediatly yesterday.
