i have a musical question.when you take the circle of fifths it contains all the chords of that key plus 5 others to complete the circle.i know that chords i iv v are major and ii iii vi are minor and vii diminished but what about the others, are the flat ii iii and vi chords major or minor.is the flat v chord major and the flat vii chord diminished,if i take for instance the key of A minor we have a flat 3 a flat 6 and a flat 7 to create the scale which gives us the chords Cmaj Fmaj and Gmaj.so does that mean if i look at my circle of fifths in the key of A the iii chord would be c#minor and the flat iii c major or is it just a matter of flatting the whole chord from c#minor to c minor.thanks in advance for any help with this. stuart

g'day everyone.I was wondering if anyone could help me.I play an ibanez rg370 dxz which comes from the factory with inf4 humbker pickup in the bridge and inf3 single coil in the middle and inf3 humbker in the neck.they are supposed to produce good harmonics but i cant seem to get any really good ones out of it so i was wondering if anyone knows if the pickup height would have an affect on how good the harmonics are,or if not what are some good choices of pickup that produce good rock tones and harmonics.thanks.

thanks guitarman,i was thinking dimarzio.i figured that if the inf was that good they would be in ibanez top range guitar's as well.i was also thinking that the js model's have freds or mo jo's and paf joe's so there must be a reason for that(there obviously better). and to skippygirl i was kinda hoping joe might answer the circle of fifth's question for me but never mind i guess he's pretty busy.i think its say the iii chord in A is c#minor and the flat3 chord is Cmaj(i think),this would take you out of the key of A,im not sure how to use the circle properly to create chord progressions but i guess i will learn eventually.

hey Joe,some set list ideas. The Extemist-Premonition-Back to Shalla bal-Friends-Summer song-Light years away-House full of bullets,Crowd chant would have to be in there somewhere, for the group jam how about La Grange ,Free Bird or even War pigs.Just thinking what tunes might be good for trading licks not quite sure what kind of stuff is included in the jam.Looking forward to the gig, thanks and stay cool man.

Ibanez make good quality guitars for lefty,s at a reasonable price.I'm a lefty so i know what its like trying to find a decent guitar in a left handed model.most of the time guitar makers seem to be like "oh we'll just give the lefty's that one"if they even bother making them at all.Ibanez i think make 3 versions of there rg series in lefty's the GRG170DXL which is the cheapest one but the quality is bang for your buck, the RG370DXZL which is the next one up and one premium model theRG870QMZL the ibanez prestige line of guitars is for the top line guitarists and as lefty's will never attain that level of skill(does my sarcasm come over well on the internet)we dont qualify for one of those(unless you buy an older second hand one thats in good nick,i think its more of an economic thing why they dont make them anymore).I thought they made lefty versions of the JS and JEM series though but couldn't find them on the website but i'm sure i saw it somewhere(maybe they stopped making them as well).Anyway if you get an Ibanez you'll be fine, dont get a cheap rip off guitar these things never sound good and you wont be happy.here's a link to ibanezand trylefty fretswebsite.this is a list of company's that make lefty's.

I was at the Adelaide gig and i will say that Joe's set was louder than the others,a couple of times it was just a wall of noise and i couldn't work out what was being played. My ears were ringing a bit after i left but soon recovered.
