Hey Joe, I need some quick advise. I am a beginner who used to dabble in college and recently decided to learn how to play for real last year. My friends think I am nuts as I just turned 48 and decided to learn some songs - your songs. They say I should have started with more 'simple' stuff, but hey - I've been a huge fan since 87' so why not learn some Satch tunes.. With Tab sheet music available now in addition to YouTube - its easier then in my college days to learn music like yours. My question, how do you remember the order of all the notes? Always with me...,for example. I have the entire first half of the song down now - but in pieces. I can play the first part, the second, third, the tap and hammer run (this is how I organize them in my mind). I can play them all well - individually. I am finding it hard to play the next 'part' in sequence - running them all together to play a song in real time... Do you have a technique for remembering an entire song that has hundreds if not thousands of notes and runs??? Is there a technique, or is it just simple practice, playing the song thousands of times, burning it into memory?

Any help is appreciated.
