why all the shows with dream theater? i mean, petrucci is great, but that singer drives me nuts. i just about bought 2nd row seats to the milwaukee show a few minutes ago (off ebay) - but, i'm not gonna drive for 8 hours to hear 5 joe songs and a bunch of 80's style metal rock tunes... i guess i'll see you on the "evening with..." tour in 2003 or 4. have a great tour!

THE TRAVELER has got to be the greatest instrumental song ever recorded... in the 21st century. the greatest in the 20th century... hmm, whaddya think joe? i can't decide... pali gap, born under a bad sign, flying in a blue dream, lights of heavan... something along those lines anyway. joe, i'm reconsidering the milwaukee show... i'm awaiting word on whether or not the tickets are still available. if so, i'll be 2nd row and waiting to chat with you afterward...... KOOL???

hey joe ~ are you gonna hang out after the minnesota show a bit so i can have you sign my JS6 again? your other autograph is a bit faded from those long hot summer night jams (you signed it 6.30.97 after g3 in mpls). my friends always warned me to somehow laquer or laminate it somehow, but i always said "...ahh, i'll just have him sign it again..." =) please negate their disbelief at that ever happening again...

thanks bro!

joe ~ it was really great meeting you again last night (medina). it was an evening i have only dreamed about. thank you for signing my mahogany JS6 (twice - for a total of 3 now). i hope you enjoy the hendrix mix cd i gave you (you seemed to be pleasantly surprised). it opens with a hilarious 30 second clip of an interview - the rest is mostly comprised of personally remastered live tracks from the fillmore, atlanta pop fest, isle of wight, and royal albert hall. i also threw in one great doors track for variety, and 4 selections from my band "mystic mint" - i hope you enjoy them - it means the world to me to know you have them in your possession. by the way, that was my wife sitting next to doug behind the mixing board - i noticed you took a double take when you saw her sitting there. she's an RN and rarely gets to cut it loose - i realized she was having a great time when i was helping her climb over the speakers to get there. i think i fell in love with her all over again! =) the show was amazing as always. i was at the bar singing the words to "catfish blues" during the hendrixy intro you did (which, by the way, a friend digitally recorded with some "stealth" ear pieces - hope you don't mind - apparently, not much else was recorded very well due to the volume - let me know if you want an mp3). i really enjoyed "time machine" - i've been wanting to hear that live since that record came out. and, your extended version of "friends" was phenomenal.

i didn't add my email address to that disc (i know you asked if it was on there)... it is bdahlberg@attbi.com

please drop me a line. thanks again for everything!

~bill

dreamboye ~ if you need a couple cd's of some amazing hendrix shows, that are of superior quality and sound, to change your rather negative attitude toward the guy, send me a message. i'd love to make you eat those harsh words. not looking for a fight - i just think you're dead wrong.

man - i wish i had known about the T2J cd much sooner - i would've submitted something. unless joe added something from that cd i gave him last december, i guess i'm out...oh well huh.

while extreeemely bored tonight, i concocted a collage of images over my guitar - i'm a huge doors/hendrix fan, but was initially inspired by joe. check it out if you want...

hi joe ~ thought i'd post this just for the hell of it... a little personal "tribute" i recorded for jim morrison - blended some satch sounding guitar in there. and, a fairly unorganized version of catfish blues - was kind of a drunken night. my amp caught some really strange radio interference so i captured it as the beginning - what the hell, there's a collaborative version of red house me and some dude from london did. anyways - enjoy! we need some more blue posted in here! haven't been here for a month - apparently neither have you - hope you're having a good break - you deserve it man!

hey joe ~ i went to THE DOORS show in chicago on tuesday night (6/24)... wow! this new band with ian astbury (singer for "the cult") on vocals, ty dennis on drums, and angelo barbera on bass (not to mention ray manzarek & robby krieger) kicked ass!! a long time online friend of mine and i, having never met before, got 3rd row center seats and backstage passes from the groups road manager. the post show meet and greet was unfortunately cancelled for some reason. however, being that ray is from chicago, he came down to the front of the theater and talked to some old high school friends of his soon after the show. he was gracious enough to take a picture with my friend alex and i (i'm on the right).

alex, ray manzarek, zonin

damn, what a night that was!! robby has really come along way ~ he had an incredible sound, and some amazing solo's. and, worth mentioning - ian was not my favorite choice for the band - but, he did a really great job in the tremendously large shoes he had to fill!
