Joe, any change still for a gig added for us Scandinavian fans on your European tour list? We are kind of left out of the European tour. Nearest gigs for us are an expensive trip away in central Europe and UK.

Austin - Yeah, I know the European tour is pretty much set in stone, but one can always hope eh? :-)

But hey, I can wait. I waited about 12 years to see Joe live for the first time on the EOC tour in Pori Jazz Festival in Oulu Finland. I can wait a little more to see him the second time. Hard it is though! :-)

Btw, I got myself a Japan made DS-1 from eBay a few days ago, but unfortunately after trying it 3 times now there doesn't seem to be any difference compared to a new Taiwan made model I bought some time ago. Well, the sound seems to be tiny wee bit more tight if you listen to it really carefully, but I'm not even quite sure about that either. I do have only a transistor amp though and my guitar doesn't have very good mics, so I don't know if there would be a more significant difference with a tube amp and good mics. Anybody here have any experience from both Taiwan and Japan made versions? Or could there possibly be Japan made DS-1's which aren't as good as other Japan made pedals? Or am I a victim of a rip-off? It says Made in Japan on the bottom panel, but of course the panel is easy to change from another pedal if wanted. Or the components inside. I'd really appreciate any comments from you people who have experience of both models.

I second vegabond's suggestion!!

Also I'd like to see generally better information of Joe's gear. Info about the amps, effects (pedals and rack mounted) etc. and good pictures of them. And if at all possible even what gear was used on each record. That would be cool.

Ibztone - Joe's mainly using the Dunlop CryBaby CB-535Q. I'm not sure about the Clyde Wah though.

Btw, I made a search on the http://www.guitar.com website, but couldn't find that Mike Manning interview. :-(

Listening to the broadcast now as well and I'm speechless!!! This album is absolutely amazing and I love every single note on it!! Strange Beautiful Music indeed! The name describes it perfectly!

What Breaks A Heart is one of the most beautiful and touching tracks ever! Oriental Melody, New Last Jam, Hill Groove, Sleep Walk.... Simply amazing stuff!! I love every bit of this album and I'm definitely going to buy it tomorrow! :-)

There will be a webcast of one of the European gigs? Thank you very much! It's not as great as been there on the gig, but it's good to see that we who can't make it to any of the gigs are not complitely forgotten. :-)

Hey guys and gals, any of you own a JS-100? I just bought one from eBay and it should arrive any day now. Can't wait!!!! :-D

Anyway, I'd like to hear what you think of the axe. And if anybody got experience I'd also like to know how it compares to JS-1000, which I'm planning to buy in the future. Any info/opinions etc. appreciated. :-)

Thanks for the info and opinions Satch72 and Cyberjoe!

Satch72 - very nice JS-guitars website you have there! If you need pics of JS-90HAM let me know. I just recently grabbed some from eBay when one guy was selling one of them. Too bad I didn't have the money to buy it. It's pretty rare axe and a damn cool looking I must say. :-)

Cyberjoe - I've also thought about changing Dimarzio FRED and Paf Pro pickups on it, but first I need to hear how those Axis pickups sound. I didn't know though that you can change the Edge bridge on it. Got to think about changing that one too, but what about Lo-Pro Edge? Would it fit also? And what exactly is the difference between the Edge and Lo-Pro Edge bridges? I read that the Lo-Pro is a little less stif than the Edge, but is there any other differences than that?

Well that's all for now. I'm really looking forward to play with the JS-100. It hasn't arrived yet, but hopefully comes early this week. :-)

I have 1Mbit ADSL connection and I can't get anything out of it! I occasionally get some majorly lagging sound and no video at all. I've tried connection speeds from 512kbit to 1Mbit. Going to try even slower speeds now.... :-(

I got the sound working after changing browser from Netscape 7.0 Preview version to IE and now to the Qiucktime Player from the browser, but there's no video at all only the sound! I've tried lowering connection speed even to 256kbit and still no video! And there's still some lag. :-(

Ok I got it working now with video too. Had to choose the LOWEST connection speed and I also shut down my firewall.

It was the firewall indeed! Now I can get the picture even with 1Mbit speed with some lag though, but at least with 512kbit speed there's no lag at all. So if you people have firewall and experience difficulties shut it down and it will work 10 times better! :-)

Hi everybody, unfortunately Joe's not the only one who's guitar has been stolen lately. Well kind of anyway, because I got cheated after winning an eBay auction and I'd like to warn you all about a person who uses a name "lynn einziger" (name was Luke Fletcher in emails) in eBay. His location according to the auction page is "SW Missouri" and Country/Region is "United States Kansas City".

Some of you may remember me when I talked about getting a JS-100 earlier in the summer. Well I won a JS-100 auction put up by this guy on eBay and payed him 400+ $US the 1st of July and I still haven't seen the guitar. I have sent him emails but haven't got any response (it was a Hotmail address).

However, the weird thing is, that this guy does not seem to be a cheater at all. He's got only positive feedback on his feedback profile page as a seller and a buyer. On the page there's also a link to one item (old Commodore Pet computer), which an other person has bought from him and there are pics of that item where can be seen the same background as in the pics of the JS-100 (I saved all the pics of the guitar on my HDD). So at least the guy seems to actually have the items he's selling and has taken pics of them personally. Also the guy who had bought the computer from him also had given him a positive feedback, so he seems to have gotten the item he bought. I guess this guy all of a sudden started cheating? Well I don't know, but I haven't gotten my guitar. :-(

Anyway, that's my story. I guess I won't be getting a new and a decent guitar for myself afterall, which I've wanted and needed a long time already at least until the next year at the earliest. IF I can get a new job and afford it that is. I rarely have money to buy guitars, even used ones. I hope you people won't get cheated like I did and loose your hard earned money. :-(

Austin - he's got 7 feedbacks, all positive. 4 of them as a buyer and 3 as a seller. Last of them is dated August 5th 2002, which was from the guy who bought the Commodore PET computer I mentioned in my last post.

Everything indeed indicated that he would be an honest guy. The auction page was well done too with many pics of the guitar included. And the way he wrote the emails he sent me after the auction had ended also gave me the impression that he would be honest. He even sent me an email after I had payed the guitar and asked if I'd like to get an insurance for it in case it gets lost in the mail. The insurance was only less than 6 bucks, so if he was a cheater that wouldn't add much to his "swag".

This doesn't make much sense to me, but it's still been exactly 2 months and 20 days since I sent him the money via Paypal and I have not received the guitar and haven't got any response to my emails, so to me he's a cheater, unless he would response to my emails and he would give me a believable explanation and deliver the guitar to me. But I'm not very hopeful anymore after this long time. I might still try to contact other people who have bought items from him but I don't think if it will help me.

Of course it's possible that he have had some emergency like you said, but I'd think he would still check his email and response. Afterall it's been a while since I sent the first email to him. I'll probably send him one more message through the eBay's Ask Seller a Question form, but I don't expect to get a response. I don't have much hope left.

Austin - I bought the guitar from the US and it was supposed to be shipped by Air Parcel Post. I know it's a slow shipping method, but 3 months is too still too much. I bought 3 other items from the US just before the guitar and they shipped in 2-3 weeks. Those were a big letters though and this is a guitar, but still I can't accept 3 months shipping time. And I can't also accept that he'd be ignoring my emails. I have sent him now 3 emails and specifically asked him to contact me.

Anyway, thanks for your comments everybody. I hope I have better luck next time.
