My partner and I are coming over to Florida in late March next year and was wondering if anyone could tell me when there are any bank holidays over this time? We are coming on the 18th March 2008 and are there till 1st April to get married!!!

I went to see Paul Gilbert at Leeds Rio's last Tuesday and have to say that it was a killer show!!! I took my PGM to see if I could get him to sign it and my camera with me where I was lucky enough to be able to blag a photo pass so I have some killer photos. Anyway about 10mins from the end I took my PGM down to the photo pit where PG saw me and said "You've got one of my guitars" to which I said "No... I have one of MY guitars - it's just your model". I then took a pen out of my pocket and asked him to sign it. He then said "Sign it? I wanna play it" and took it off me and started playing it on stage!!! How cool is that!!!! He signed it for me after the show also and I have pics of him playing it.

Its fair to say that I was like a kid in a sweet shop!!!

For those who want to see pics of Paul Gilbert I will try and get some uploaded at the weekend. Does anyone know where would be best to upload them to?

Thanks for the advise about what site to upload my photos to. I will endevour to get them online by Friday (fingers crossed...).

I have two guitars up for sale both of which are signed... The first is an old Squire Strat signed by Satch and Vai - fantastic signatures, very clear and BIG (photos of Joe and the guitar available on request). Also this guitar comes with a custom made frame to hang this guitar in and put on your wall. The second is my Ibanez PGM Paul Gilbert Signature model (rosewood board, floyd rose style trem) signed on the back by Paul Gilbert and his bass player. The big thing with this guitar is that Paul has actually played this instrument on stage during his last European Tour on the last night in Leeds, UK. I have photos of him playing it available on request.

Ovation - Yeah I am doing good bro and the gigs are drying up a bit as not a lot of time nowadays as getting married next year... I am getting rid of the 2 guitars as since they both got signed I havent played them at all. Also I have just bought a PRS 513 and need to pay it off.

Tulsachops - It would be so cool if I did need the bail money...What a story to tell the grand kids!!! Oh and you could still pass the hat round if you like!!!

Do The Stu - Well I have working for a bank and playing with a band doing a show called Through The Ages which is basically a trip thru musical history with costumes etc etc. Earns a few extra pounds for me... Nothing to shout about though... Hopefully gonna be touring it next summer so fingers crossed it comes off.

Thinking of getting a new amp to replaced some of my rack gear... What are people's opinions of the Marshall JVM 410h?

Oh and before you ask yes I did try the JSX and I didnt like the clean channel...

Although I dont post much I do read a lot of what is going on and would like to comment on the Peavey/Marshall debate...

In the video in Cork HERE at about 05:15 ish you can see Joe using 2 Marshall heads and on the far left is a JSX. Also the 3 cabs on stage are Peaveys also...

I'm curious about how well your guitars hold up to your playing. I've heard about guitarists playing instruments to death... Do you have a stock pile of spent instruments that you salvage parts from or do you have maintenance work "tune-ups" on your guitars often? Is your playing style even that demanding on your instruments - I've read of EVH completely wrecking the frets on his older guitars in one touring!

I think Becjr has a very interesting point here... Can anyone else add any input into this one? Joe or Mike perhaps?

NJBeast - I remember the G3 with Robert Fripp and I have to say that for me it was a refreshing change and I actually enjoyed what he did. Not to say that it was everybody's cup of tea...

SkippyGirl - I was on both of the T2J CD's and I do post from time... I mainly just check in daily and see what the topic on conversations are...

On the amp/emulator debate... I use a rack setup with a marshall JMP-1 and power amp with a TC fx unit going via a valve poweramp and 4x12 cab (or 2 - depends on the venue...). I have tried the emulator out on the marshall both live and studio and although it is passable it doesnt come close to the sound coming from an amp.

What you could try to see if it helps is having a monitor behind you just like an amp to see if that helps as guitar amps are naturally 'fuzzy' when right on top of them so having it behind you may be better for your ears...

Can someone tell me why the Club Joe packages are only available to buy in US Dollars for the UK shows? The reason I ask is that there will always be fluctuations in the exchange rate so those that buy a ticket could pay more than someone else... This does not seem fair to me...
