Thanks again to everyone for the Happy 100ths. I appreiciate it.

VERY IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING THE T2J CD - I sent an email to Neville Martin and Simon Bradley over at Guitarist (UK) to tell them about the T2J CD project. This is what I wrote:

Neville/Simon,

Hi there. Im going to cut to the chase and tell you about a charity CD that is in the throws of being created.

A few members of www.satriani.com have decided to to put out an original instrumental album with all of the proceeds going to the American Red Cross (a charity that Joe Satriani himself chose for the project). Also, Joe has said that he will let us use his publishing company for the CD.

All of the info is available at www.talk2joe.com where you will find info such as the contributers, tracks for the CD, cover suggestions etc etc.

Is it at all possible to put something in Guitarist to help promote this fantastic project and obviously help a well worthy charity in the process???

Very Hopeful Regards, Aarren Mowle

With any luck I should have a reply concerning this and as soon as I do I shall post it in here.

Finally got round to recording a Satch tune and it is now up on MY IUMA. Go and check it out and leave me some comments. By the way, I learnt this song entierly (sp???) from memory so I appreciate that there are probably some wrong bits in it but have a listen anyway.

Miguelpais - YThanks for your kind words regarding My IUMA. The way I get my tone is done 2 ways: 1, Close Mic'ing of either a Marshall 4x12 or a Laney Tubefusion, Boss DS-1, Boss DD-3, Crybaby Wah and plenty of volume; and 2, Use of a Marshall JMP-1 coming out of its speaker emlulator. With regards to tone I set up my clean channel like this (0-10 settings) - bass 9, mid 8, treble 3-4. Boss DD-3 (for Love Thing) level 12 o'clock, feedback 1 o'clock, speed 8 o'clock, type 12 o'clock. Signal chain - out of amp into delay, out of delay into ds1, out of ds1 into wah, out of wah into guitar. Hope that helps.

Ocps470 - Thanks for the kind words regarding my iuma. For info on tone see above. Thanks again and yes I did notice that my song was last on the T2J CD - cheers. By the way, what do you think of my track for the CD?

Trutina - Not a problem for the email that I sent to Guitarist. At the end of the day the more publicity we get the better. Now go to My IUMA as promised by your good self and dont forget to leave me some comments.

Plum Loco - Thanks for the kind words regarding my iuma and yes that is me warbling away in the tracks (you can take your earplugs out now - lol)

Ovation1 - Thanks for the kind words regarding my iuma. I have to admit that the drums are (quote) "quite jazzy". Dont blame me for that as someone sent me that backing track from in here - lol.

Mr Nick - Thanks for the kind words regarding my iuma - I do try!!! lol.

Crystal Planet - Thanks for your kind words regarding my iuma and where do you think I got the idea to put the harmonics in??? You got it in one.

Narface - Regarding your wiring problems. You said that you have wired it properly so your problem could be down to dry joints which would cause it not to work. Check it out.

Gregm - Thanks for checking out my IUMA and there are some mistakes in it but keep listening to it and you will, eventually, pick up on them. Thanks again.

Does anyone know how to make a virtual instrument in cubase? The reason I ask is that i noticed with the virtual drum kit that comes with cubase that the sounds are .wav files. I have some much better drum sounds and want to use them instead but without the farce of inputing each wav file individually.

Any ideas????

Thanks everyone for the congrats regarding me becoming an uncle. The way I see it, it is like being a Dad but without the responsibility!!!! (Nice!!!)

Crystal Planet - Right, problem exporting audio in cubase - go to main view>click Audio>click VST Mixer>just above the mains faders is a button called Export Audio - click it>uncheck Add This Song To Current Song (or something along those lines>name your song and click Export. Thats it. Hope that helps. Any more probs then come back to me.

T2J CD - Whats the latest regarding the CD??? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to know........

I see a lot of talk about the ACM in Guilford and just wondered what it is like compared to The Guitar Institute in Acton as that is where I went. Just curious......

Crystal Planet - Did you try what I suggested in Cubase and, if so, did it work???

Dragonchild - Thank you very much for the kind words regarding my T2J track. My idea was to create a song that wasnt too heavy to listen to but that was also catchy. Another point that I wanted to catch was to write a sad song but in a nice sounding way (if that makes any sense at all !!!)

Thanks again,

Aarren

Hi all. How we doing in here? I havent posted in a while, even though I do check in here on a daily basis, as Ive never really got that much to say but this one will be good (well maybe.....)

I see a lot of bullsh*t being thrown around from various people regarding their music. This needs to stop and stop now. If it aint your cup of tea then fine leave it there. I dont particularly (sp?) like country music but I wouldnt go over to, say, Garth Brooks and tell him its crap. This is supposed to be a place to talk about Joe and a place where he will be able to see what is being said. Do you really want Joe to see what is going on in here????? Have I made my point?????

In a lighter note I received this in an email and it made me laugh......

Anyone who has been in the hospital or had a loved one in the hospital can certainly relate to this -----

A woman, calling a local hospital, said, "Hello, I'd like to talk with the person who gives the information regarding your patients. I'd like to find out if the patient is getting better, or doing as expected, or is getting worse".

The voice on the other end of the line said, "What is the patient's name and room number?"

She said, "Sarah Finkel, in Room 302..."

"I will connect you with the nursing station."

"3-A Nursing Station. How can I help You?"

"I would like to know the condition of Sarah Finkel in Room 302".

"Just a moment. Let me look at her records. Oh, yes. Mrs. Finkel is doing very well. In fact, she's had two full meals, her blood pressure is fine, her blood work just came back as normal, she's going to be taken off the heart monitor in a couple of hours and if she continues this improvement, Dr. Cohen is going to send her home Tuesday at twelve o'clock."

The woman said, "Thank God! That's wonderful! Oh! that's fantastic, that's wonderful news!"

The nurse said, "From your enthusiasm, I take it you must be a close family member or a very close friend!"

"Not exactly, I'm Sarah Finkel in 302! Nobody here tells me shit!"

Made me laugh anyway,

Aarren
