WOW I'm away for a week and the paradigm has shifted!!! Crap, Webmaster, I'm trying to get used to the site all over again. Just spent half an hour trying to get un-lost. Personally I dislike changes that are this dramatic, but it looks good, and I'll soon get used to it. This is a test: <((/\/\IND STOR/\/\))> btw trying to check out the sound bits, but this machine is playing back too fast. later BEN

Ooooooowwwwwwwwww!!!!!!! I feel good...

Yeah! Stress was high, expectation was low, requirements seemed difficult yet straightforward... UNTIL it came time to do the deed, and edited

YEAH!!! Gotta love it when very important tasks are easy. I wonder how I can go through 23 pages of new posts to see if there's any blue text? Okay so I know there was one and I found it, but in future...

Only a week until new album...

Damn Straight, you're too late to discover...

You know, it's when they look you in the eyes, and they say: "No, I'm very very shy..."

NO NO NO NO NO.

Funny, about the Crushing Day bizzo, I had that on full volume this morning before I got out of bed. (My flat-mate hates Satch & Vai stuff so I play it to make him leave or go to his room.) It almost put me to sleep, and I'd been awake for hours. So long since I listened to it last. (Been into LISF and Vai stuff lately.)

You know, it's when they look you in the eyes, and they say: "I would love to!"

Correct.

Yep, yep, yep... well so far all I've heard of the album is what is on this site, except for some fooed reason all these damn machines have playback at about 115% so I haven't heard it at normal speed yet.

Sounds good though I reckon. So far Joe it's a hit!

Looking forward to hearing the full album!!!

Well it's after lunchtime and I haven't eaten today yet, so I'd better get going.

Later Ben.

PS has anyone else here ever tried reversing Steve Vai's Whookam? Weird. I recognised an excerpt from Sex & Religion in there. (Amongst other stuff)

PPS heh heh do I win a prize for making the 1000th post?

In response to the "USA deserved to win / USA played better / USA had more scoring opportunities" claims: no, no, and yes.

Germany had the ball much more than the USA did. Germany had better control of the ball than USA did. Germany showed exceptionally higher level of ball-handling skill than USA did. USA managed to fast break through Germany's defence more often than Germany did USA's. USA fouled more blatantly than Germany did. The end result was not far from what you would expect. I predicted 2-0, and it nearly was.

BTW Brazil were more convincing than England too, even if I was cheering the poms.

Crushing Day!!! Damn I wish I could be at a concert to see/hear that!!!

When are we going to get a "Talk To Austin" site? Stuff this Joe business. Who is he anyway? Joe who? and why do they keep booing Stu Hamm? He is a great bass player (heh heh heh - the bait is set)

That guy who was complaining before stop whingeing although the "not like i said the yngwie word" was pretty funny.

Thankyou Nick for stopping the bold caps, it really does come across as shouting.

Any ideas when SBM comes out in Australia? Could be ages. I'll check out every week or two.

PS Deutchland for World Cup!!! DEUTCHLAND DEUTCHLAND DEUTCHLAND!!! OI OI OI!!!

PPS Oliver Kahn for G3!!!

What is going on? I've sifted through 16-20 odd pages, decided that I should mark one post as the last read one so that the number of pages goes down, and now the same damn post keeps coming up as the last one I read, which is the one it was to start with. Be back later...

Okay solved the problem... damn cookies disabled AGAIN (how many times have I enabled cookies on this machine?)

Hey Austin, I had the same thing happen to me with the download thingies. Still no workee?

ON EOC 2000 Joe tried to go electronic with his music. Pretty well I thought, but not according to others. 2001/2002 Other rock identities eg Garbage and No Doubt tried the same. EXCEPT THEY FAILED. THEY WENT TOO FAR OUT OF THE PARADIGM. THEY LOST THEIR HARD-EARNED IMAGE BY GOING PURE ELECTRONIC. PURE ELECTRONIC IS ONLY ANY GOOD IF IT'S TECHNO. Joe still kept his lead guitar and rhythm mentality as a basis for the electronic stuff.

Music: Response

Music that triggers some kind of response.

Been listening to Chemical Brothers and Faithless lately. Good techno.

Any word on a release date for SBM in Aus? (Or a tour?)

RE Frequency range debate: Paul Huxley aka The Local Person is correct except one thing, megahertz is MHz not mHz. mHz stands for millihertz, and so 5mHz would be 5 signals per 1000 seconds. (One every 200 seconds! Significant difference!)

Just so no-one took his advice as absolute gospel and bet their life away on that.

EOC I definitely agree should not be a one-off however PLEASE people stop referring to it as "techno" it is in no way a techno album. Only a couple of songs are techno oriented. Devil's Slide, parts of Borg Sex, Attack, Power Cosmic 2000 Part 2. All the rest you could say has an electronic feel about it, however IT IS NOT "TECHNO" per se.

I like many different kinds of music, so frankly Joe can do what he pleases and there's a huge chance that I'll like it anyway whether it's Joeish or not.

PS Still waiting for SBM...

Death Cube K it says the number of total posts, so if you had another look at the first post he made, it would say 101 also. Next time he posts, they will all change to 102. Check it out, it's the same for everyone. (Always has been - well since Jon introduced them that is.)

<.>

On Sunday had some fools mucking around on the power amp, they were getting a run-up and jumping on the case so that they rode across the room on it. Naturally after a number of times they were doing stunts, one of which caused the amp to hit one of my toms sitting on the floor, which bumped a cymbal stand, (holding my most expensive cymbal) which luckily I caught. The guy "in charge" (not really but more than anyone else) commented that I didn't look too happy or impressed. I wasn't. The guys mucking around didn't even take any notice and went about being stupid.

NOT HAPPY, JAN!

gotta go, later BEN

Had a look at Gorman's Prophecy. What's the deal with the drummer? He's got a freaking mullet. And the bass player wearing tight-black bogan jeans. It's a pity I haven't heard them play, they're probably decent musicians.

By the way, I read it as slick, but I had no idea what it meant until someone seconded it.

Two days in a row I've had to crank "Surfing" album first thing in the morning while I'm still in bed to get Mr Flatmate to turn the TV off and disappear. I don't know if it'll work tomorrow though. I'll try Passion & Warfare instead. That's usually a winner.

I'd love to see a webcast that'd be SICK especially CRUSHING DAY yeeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh.

Austin... it's pronounced "poo kett" and not whatever you were thinking.

I didn't have to resort to loud music this morning because my flatmate didn't come home last night. His girlfriend's 21st thingy tonight. My query is why have a thingy for your 21st when you had a big thingy for your 18th birthday? Dress is SEMI-FORMAL so this will be my get-up: dark green shirt, dark blue jacket, tie, black and blue board shorts and either casual shoes/socks OR thongs!!! HAHAHA!!! It'll be a hoot! Well it said semi formal! Half of me will be formal!

Gotta go. I'll check out what's going on with SBM around here. (Probably nothing yet, just like EOC.)

Things are looking up ladies and gentlemen!

On the semi-formal front, almost all the people I spoke to were impressed by my "interpretation" and complimented my wit. My work there was done, and I hadn't even physically done anything. Heh heh heh.

Well, unfortunately semester number 6 starts tomorrow, and then it's re-assessment time at year-end. (Not rear end btw.)

Come on SBM! Come to Australia!!! (Joe you can come too...)

Hey hey hey!!! Love to watch webcasting! Sickness and things!

Heh heh here's my amusing input for the day: anyone remember UB40?

"Where did I go wrong to make it like this? No warmth in your body, no touch in your kiss. Holding you now takes more than it should, if you go girl, you'll be gone for good." dododododo dodododo. dododododo dodododo. dododododo dodododo. etc

I don't think any of their songs had drums in them. Only those little beat boxes!!!

JSClone, YaYo, Austin, Barrie and all you others, if you listened to the Australians on this site (or the bits Joe said on the listening party) you'd know about the "New Last Jam" story. Pete Mulas mentioned it above.

I think someone else spoke about it the other day, but not sure if they mentioned the double-neck thing.

btw What about Steve Vai with that crazy 3 neck heart shaped one?

Can't wait until the webcast.
