I have an original JS1000, Jewel Blue, I had it for one year and the neck started getting splits in the Rosewood on the higher part of the neck. Ibanez sent it to LA to have it fixed. When it came back they had stole my bridge and it had a bunch of shims in the warn out Lo pro edge they sent back with the guitar. They fillled in the split with putty and didnt even replace the neck. I love the guitar but its built out of crap. I bought one of the JS700's and I play the hell out of it.
It would be nice of the Guitar with your name on it which is great was available built out of quality materials.
I would love to have a JS700 with an Ebony Fret board, A PAF in the front and a Seymour Duncan Invader on the bridge. The Neck should be three piece maple. Like an Original Hamer Californian. Ibanez turns out the worst Crap. The bridges are made of Potmetal and wear out from heavy use in six months. The Gems they make for Steve vai have plastic on the fretboards with colored paper under the plastic on the inlays. I have replaced the Jack in my JS1000 as well.
I am ordering a new bridge to have the one ripped off replaced. I only let my local lutherier work on my guitar from now on. I have tried to contact Ibanez, but they make it really hard to get in touch with them.
