ariamac - when writing links, you don't have to put TEXT there - you can write anything you like in place... like this:

Make with the clicky here!

ariamac - i have to say that i've found power tab pretty decent, particularly with www.powertab.net. However, It's a nightmare for writing tabs, admittedly.

as far as bonus tracks are concerned, I agree with giving the Japanese one. Although, I assume that the extra cost is going into tax, and that is providing services for them/less tax elsewhere... if so, a cunning little ploy... but I'm not complaining.

However, I would like to complain at Americans complaining. Tumble is available on itunes. itunes store is *not* available in the UK. So i don't even get the chance to pay and download that one... until it starts in UK (I have no idea how long that's going to be).

I've kept quiet on abortion so far. I really don't think that there's any excuse for killing people, whether they are feotuses (eek, bad spellling?) or even convicted serial paedophile murderer-rapists. Now I can understand the view of killing the second one, although I don't agree with it. But I can't really understand why there can be any excuse whatsoever for killing babies. Rape is terrible, but it's still not an excuse for killing babies I'm afraid.

I love the way people come up with more elaborate ways of putting things that they're afraid of, or are morally objectional. I mean, "negative patient care outcome" is a term used in some hospitals. I've seen leaflets advertising euthanasia but not using that word. Anarchist groups never seem to explain properly what they actually are. Wake up, sleeper.

trutina - well, there are two simple possible problems as far as i'm concerned with doing it in the uk. Firstly, since the currency's that bit stronger, charging 99 pence per song wouldn't be roughly in line with the states, so they'd have to think of a different number. Secondly, since copyright laws and things are different in the UK, they may have more hoops to jump through. That's all I can think of.

do the stu - ah, but is it the high price that causes the low demand? surely japanese people enjoy music as much as anyone else...

anibur - i really don't know about virgin broadband. tiscali's a good service though.

Hey guys...

My Soundclick site has been updated with a new mp3. It showcases the first 1.5 minutes of a piece myself and a greek man have been working on. It's prog with a groove, I hope you'll download and enjoy it. Whether you do or not, thanks, and any feedback is appreciated. Particularly concerning the guitar solo in the 7/4 bit...

Thanks [/end ghastly promotion]

BotD (ballet of the day): Igor Stravinsky's Pulcinella.

BotD (book of the day): The Magician's Nephew (C.S. Lewis' Narnia book no.1 in reading order)

BotD (bog of the day): My old school's guys toilets which are actually on a website somewhere... really nasty.

edit: above linky now fixed...

zenfish - thanks... Oasis did write and record a pretty cool album (what's the story)... Bill (who I'm writing it with) said (having not heard it for a while) - man, that's as good as genesis, and on the second hearing said "that's better than genesis" ... i'm not so sure about that, but I do like it, and I'm glad other people do too :)

To be honest, with all the cadence stuff, it becomes fairly meaningless once it gets past the underlying harmony and bass notes. The voice leading is important of course, but that pretty much writes itself around the harmony 9 times out of 10...

Of course, knowing the functions of a perfect/imperfect/interuppted cadence is important, but I've got better things to worry about whilst going to sleep at night than the voice leading in the soprano. Oh, and Phillipians 4:6...

there are a few differences between uk pool (reds and yellows) and us (colours, numbered). For instance, if you foul in Uk rules, the opponent gets two shots. in US rules, they get one shot but they can place the cue ball. I'm not sure about other differences but there are a few.

dragonchild - billiards has lots of different types but I've never played one that has no pockets- you can play on a snooker table, where you've got to pot balls, go in-off them or cannon both of the other balls, and I've played bar billiards where you've got to avoid the holes...

i've never heard pool called blackball in uk... it's always called pool, but usually played with lots of reds and yellows, one white and one black. you've got to pot all the reds, or all the yellows, and then pot the black. If you pot the black before that you lose.

as clarky points out, from pub to pub different rules are played, though there are official rules too. Extra rules are ones like no two-shots on the black, having to get the black on a double (off a cushion), electing the pocket you're going to pot it in, etc.

I would also much prefer a game of snooker... particularly after the world championship... always gets you going, that one.

I've written and recorded a little song today... it comes with a few warnings though...

1) Lyrics do not represent my own view...

2) You may upon hearing it, decide that you don't want to come on T2J if there's someone that weird regularly posting on it...

3) Repetitive G major chord sequence... enough said. Watch out.

4) If you have perfect pitch, apologies for the slight detuning...

5) If you are allergic to hand claps, DO NOT download...

But if you do want to download it, clicky here! and download the song called Foreigners!

clarky - yeah, thorburn got the first televised 147. My parents happened to video tape the whole thing when first testing our video player (when it was first on)... I watched that video all the time man! it all started with a fluke, too. And he ended up with 151 I think cause he'd snookered Terry Griffiths...
