do the stu - so t2j cd mk 2- I might just be up for it fully this time (I recorded a song last time but in the end said I couldn't do the financial side). I'm just wondering if it has to be instrumental or not...

ibanez - on strange beautiful music, joe wanted to play with a bassist who had more rock n roll roots than stu. we all agree stu's a great bassist but since sbm was primarily rock, yet stu wasn't primarily rock, joe felt matt b would suit the project better. and that also allowed stu to go off and do music he's more inclined towards...

Click here and you can click to hear samples from Jordan Rudess' new solo album - Rhythm of Time. One of the tracks features Joe Satriani himself! Sadly you can only hear a bit of his rhythm work in this particular clip and some keyboard soloing (it is a solo keyboard album after all). Anyway, it's worth checking out!

js js - either because he isn't what people expect the third G to be, or because they have too narrow musical minds.

Master Yoda - call it the park barn blues...

Nitefly Rob - what can I say? I've got a girlfriend of 3 and a bit years and recently she kissed another guy (quite a lot) and slept in a bed with him - nothing beyond kissing but fully clothed... i've decided to forgive her this time (it's not the done thing to do, I know, but I have my reasons). And I know what it can hurt like from that. It'll get better.

SOTD - King Crimson - Starless (btw Kc fans... what's Starless and Bible Black like compared to this track? I know that they are similar... I love Starless, including *the* solo, and the theme (you know boo deee-----do do do do do deeeee)...

clarky -yeah - is that the song you sight-read the solo for in the David Cross band? I've had Red for quite a while but I've only just got into it. Really starting to get into non-1969 KC... (which I was already into)...

nitefly - you may not believe this, but 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me' (phillipians 4:13). i can tell you that without God I would certainly have thrown it out of the window... I may still, we shall see... technically speaking I am a saint (as are all christians), but I don't think I'm anything special for it. Anyway, that probably bored you. I just thought I'd share my position with you.

but then cuthbert, in the us, burglars are able to sue the people they're robbing if they trip over a plant pot and bruise their nose...

i don't know why i mentioned that...

lead guitar lick of the day... 4 minutes into King Crimson - Fallen Angel (yes, I've been listening a lot to that album lately)

did that last post confuse anyone apart from me?

1) Steve, not Joe wrote and recorded Alien Love Secrets.

2) I don't remember seeing Master Bamboo on the tracklisting of that album... though I could be wrong...

3) Is there love in space? has a track called Bamboo on it... I guess this is what's meant but I'm still deeply confused, and disturbed by the whole matter.

do the stu - ah via musicom's the only J album I have and I can't say I'm that inspired by it all to get anything else by him.

There are some great tracks on there- Cliffs obviously, I like Desert Rose (the solo in that song is really great), but a lot of it seems like dated and randomly strewn together songs... of course I know they're not but they just don't have too much that inspires me. I really like Manhattan (the G3 performances at least). I think it's the fairly random squeaky notes EJ plays from time to time...

BBKane - Fripp is a monster of a player when he wants to play fast... in terms of actual diffculty, rather than audible sounds per second...

Fripp's diary is hilarious... asking for a non-smoking sign to be replaced cause it didn't work!

someone said about hunting...

I eat meat, and I don't agree with hunting. I'm absolutely fine with animals being killed for food, and on an island sans civilisation I would be happy to hunt food down (if I could). However there is a difference between fox hunting (a cruel method of killing animals for pleasure) and hunting for meat (involving quick, not too painful deaths for animals involved). This is because we have a responsibility to look after the world (God's creation... see genesis...)

There are however bigger and more important issues, like abortion (which we've covered enough here in recent times) and like poverty where human lives are at stake.

do the stu - i know you're not the one to give up on the site due to unneccessary name-calling but just to confirm, me and the vast majority of the site respect you as a pretty straight thinking guy, and indeed have no problems with you :)

cuthbert - i have no problem with hunting an animal for meat, as long as you don't in anyway torture the animal. The animals are there for us to eat, but also to look after (look after in general, that doesn't mean votes for oysters). I would positively encourage some meat-eaters to go, hunt, skin, cook and eat an animal at some point. Cause every time you buy meat from a supermarket that has effectively been done- some people need to wake up to the consequences of what they're doing- by showing them the reality that animals die to become their food, they can gain greater awareness, which may or may not change their views on the matter- but they'd be better informed.

Some friends of mine and I are planning on doing this sometime soon... plus, when I went to Majorca at Easter I always wanted grilled rabbit... but never ended up choosing it... time to make up...
