Hey Joe, I may be way behind the curve on this and this may have already been discussed - but is it just a coincidence that the main lead lick on "Ice Nine" and "Cool #9" are similar?

BTW, I'm loving SBM more and more with every listen. Stellar stuff, as always.

To others - I like the Hagar era VH.

Good news Joe - count my 16 year old nephew among the newly converted to Satchism. He's into Satch Boogie pretty big, also Midnight. I'm getting him into Cool #9 to, I told him it's a fan favorite. Unfortunately this will probably not result in any money coming your way as he downloads all his music :(

Joe -

Be careful around Yngwie. Maybe I underestimate the guy, but he seems like the type of person that would love nothing more than to say something totally humiliating to you in a private moment together. Don't let him get you one-on-one, he wants to sodomize you man!

Does he still drive around Miami in his 80's era Ferrari? LOL

Joe for the life of me I will never understand why every time I see your name in print or on the internet (like on Real Rhapsody) why they *always* have to make mention of the fact that you were "Steve Vai's guitar teacher" (TM).

AS IF the student outdid the teacher - PUH-LEASE!

Vai music is regrettable, lame, goofy, stupid, pointless, unartistic, weird, forgettable...

Joe, I'm over on the QT website listening to the ITLIS Listening Party. Way cool!!!!!

Per usual it has taken a number of listens for me to really let the album sink in, I think I've reached that point now, and I'm hooked, I love it.

Joe, that wang-bar/echo/feedback thing at 2:08 of 'Searching' f*cking rules, that song is 10 minutes of guitar bliss.

Also, I wanted to comment that I think that you've really nailed things production-wise on the last two albums.

Joe I'm so jazzed for this coming Wednesday night in Columbus. I even managed to get a date, she had never heard of you but I promised her that you're not heavy metal! But 3 hours might be a bit much for her, I don't know, we'll see.

I hope I win the backstage passes, looks like my odds are currently 1 in 55, not too good, but I think it would be the coolest thing in the world to meet you, your music has been a big part of my life for so many years now.

I'll be in row 13, dark hair almost black, slight of build, bespectacled (but I may be wearing contact lenses, if I do I'll have shades on as a tribute), about 5'8".

Hey Joe, GREAT show in Columbus last night, I sat there with a stupid grin on my face the whole night as you kept playing so many of my favorites!

Apologies for the lame crowd, many of whom I would say haven't bought a new Satch album since 1992 apparently as they didn't seem to recognize a lot of the songs you played.

Thanks for digging out Hordes of Locusts, that was awesome, the little spoken intro was cool too!

Joe, I'm listening to the Power Cosmic 2000 Pt. 2 on my iPod Shuffle, what a great song, I still think EoC was one of your best efforts.

Have fun down under, hope you don't get LAMEASS crowds there like the one here in Columbus last fall. :(

Joe, there isn't enough volume in the world to do justice to "Searching". I think it's the best song you've ever done, it has become my hands-down favorite over the past year. I love the fat, loose bottom-end on your recent albums, and on that song especially.

lol, my iTunes followed "Searching" with "We're Through Being Cool" by Devo

Joe, enjoying a cannabis-enhanced listening of "Searching" here. It's like nothing I've ever experienced, and I am so convinced right now that you must be a regular partaker of the stuff...ha

Joe, Super Colossal is fantastic - thanks for another great batch of songs bro...

I see you're not coming to Columbus this time around - wise move! I was so embarrassed for my city when I saw you at the Palace Theater in 2004. I wanted to stand up in between the songs and start yelling at people "YOU KNOW, HE HAS RELEASED A FEW ALBUMS SINCE FLYING IN A BLUE DREAM FOLKS, DID YOU KNOW THAT???" lol

Joe, one day back in 1998 I was driving to work, and had Crystal Planet playing on my car stereo. It was shortly after its release, and I was on my fourth or fifth listen of it, when I spontaneously broke out into joyous laughter because I realized just how good it was. Well, the same is happening now with SC! Not to diss the albums in between AT ALL, but SC is clearly a cut above and one of your absolute best.

I started a thread on my EX-Jehovah's Witness discussion board about it with a link to the listening party, so I'm trying to get the word out bro :) I know the local radio stations won't touch it, because they suck.

Hi Joe - great stuff on 'Professor'...my favorites so far are Overdriver (I love the concept behind the song, lol), Diddle-Y (nice keyboard touches) and Asik Veysel.

Joe, I'm sitting here listening to "Chords of Life" from SBM...it has become one of my favorites of yours, don't know if that song is mentioned often but I love it. The outro solo is so melodic.

'Professor' has really grown on me too. Diddle-Y-Doo-Dat is a blast!

Do_the_Stu, what did Chris mean by that comment? Was he trying to say that Joe was a forgotten rock star? Joe has had a long and successful career, is still drawing decent crowds, and still has a large fan base that buys his recordings without even hearing a note. Maybe Chris could do a little research next time!

I'm sad about this Coldplay thing. I wonder how hard this is on Joe. On one hand, we hear in his music that he's very obviously a man with deep emotions. But, perhaps he has a "strictly business" side that he is able to compartmentalize, although that's difficult to imagine.

Joe, really enjoyed Satchurated. Great selection of songs, and the Montreal fans know how to rock. Galen has an awesome guitar collection. Teaming up with Allen and Mike was one of the best moves you've ever made, they looked like they were having the time of their lives. And Jeff was great of course.

Joe, disappointed to see that Engines of Creation is no longer available on iTunes/Amazon MP3/Google Play. I think it's one of your best releases.

As I pointed out in my review on Amazon, just about all of the one-star reviews were posted in the 3-4 months following its release. It was a weird, somewhat shocking first listen, but you can't help but appreciate the quality of the songs upon repeated listenings, and it's a shame that it's been put on the backlist.
