drafter37 - I'm pretty sure Joe's a Yankee fan. He's probably going for the Giants in the World Series, though, just because he lives closer to them and has played the anthem there and stuff.

Dave Mc - I was wondering the same thing myself...LOL. I guess by offering a different guitar they'll attract more people that don't want a signature model guitar.

Get a loaf - I didn't know it was an actual technique, but then again I'm not a drummer. So I guess it can be two things. Thanks for the correction. Also...wouldn't it be funny for me to go back and edit my original post to say exactly what you just said? That would be a fun way to mess with people's heads when they read T2J tomorrow morning. Anyway... Click here for some jokes...and you can click the button to hear your own rimshot (haha).

Everyone - Wish me luck on my test tomorrow...LOL.

Ok...that article I posted the other day said that Tony Bennett would be doing the National Anthem today. Well, he ended up singing something else. Fox immediately went to comercial, and now it looks like the game is going to start (without Fox airing the anthem). Was anyone at the game today? If Joe *did* do the anthem, it would make sense for Fox to show Tony Bennett instead (he's more popular). Or did they not sing the anthem before the game today, for one reason or another? Does anyone know?

Hi everyone. Thanks for all of the "good luck" wishes for my test today. I think I did pretty good. The day went downhill from there, though.

Question of the day - Why are women so freakin' confusing?

njbeast - Have fun in Amsterdam. I went to The Netherlands with my school 5 1/2 years ago. I had a blast. It's such an awesome country.

Mr Nick - You'll love the LISF DVD!
XCrystal PlanetX - You really can't go wrong with any Dream Theater album. Whenever people ask for a good CD to start with, I always suggest the two albums by The Liquid Tension Experiment. The albums are called I and II...LTE is a side project for DT's guitarist, keyboard player, and drummer. It sounds more like Satch than normal DT stuff, so it's a good way to make the transition.
The Local Person - Clarky answered your question at the end of his post. I think he said he's seen it called "side-sticking" (not a "rim-shot").

michelle - The thing you described is what I originally gave as my definition of a rim-shot. I guess that isn't the correct term, but it's the one that everyone uses. Oh well...it doesn't really matter.

Women are still confusing. ;-)

dragonchild - The link didn't work. Judging by the address that the link tried to send me to, you're having the same problem that a lot of other people here have had with links. If you go to edit your post, copy the text from your post and email it to me at ALewis525@aol.com I can help you figure out where you're making a mistake...

PhrygianDominant - What's the "mail to" command for Talk To Joe? I've seen you use it, but I've made a few guesses and can't get it to work.

Ya Yo Gakk - Someone said that Joe was going to play, and then I found an article that said he was playing something at a pep rally before the game. But then Fox ended up not showing the National Anthem on tv, so Joe might've done it after all. I don't know.

MegaBoyd - Ugh! I knew that...thanks for the correction.
LGU89 - The Giants are going to lose... :-) Go Angels!
PhrygianDominant - Thanks. This is a test...click here to email me.
drafter37 - I've been getting into Friends recently too. I don't listen to it every day, but I have been listening to it more and more often.
PRETORIANO - The song is Mind Storm, and it's done using a 7 string guitar.
evbro - Hi.

Hi everyone. I had a LONG day today. I'm glad I don't have class tomorrow...I get to sleep in. :-)

ovation1 - Clock inlays on a guitar? That sounds cool. Do you have a link?

dragonchild - Get some rest...I hope you feel better soon.
PhyrgianDominant - What would I have to do to get those MPEGs from you? ;-)
OCPS470 - I really like the JS album. I have to be in a certain "mood" to listen to it, but there's some good stuff on it.
linoleum - Sign up for the backstage pass contest.
schnitzel - You can buy one of Joe's signature model guitars at http://www.musiciansfriend.com/.
For Adun - That's a nice list of one liners. My favorite was: "Drought relief comedy night fails due to excessively dry humour".

Mr Nick - I'm not Boyd but I can answer your question. He was using the SkyLiner on the LISF DVD. I think he found his on Ebay...do a search for "skyliner".

T Lightnin - The age thing is up to the concert promoters, not Joe himself. He sadly doesn't have too much knowledge about this kind of stuff until it's too late.

Hi everyone. Sorry for being unusually quiet for the past few days. The network at my university went down over the weekend, so I've been without internet access in my dorm for a few days. It really sucks...LOL. I had 12 pages of posts to go through, and now I have 7 left. I should be completely caught up by this time tomorrow, but we'll see. If anyone asked me a question and they don't get an answer tomorrow, just yell at me again. ;-)

GO ANGELS!!!

Phydeaux 3 - Cool pictures...congrats on getting married.

ovation1 - I'm the tall guy in the center of the third row on the LISF DVD. I have dark hair and have glasses. You can see me best at the end of Disc 1...the camera fades out on me at the very end of Summer Song. I'm wiping sweat from my face. You can also see me a lot during the Call And Response thing after Surfing With The Alien...I have a goofy grin on my face. Oh, and thanks for the guitar picture. I wish I could see those inlays up close, but I can already tell that they look cool.
T Lightnin - There isn't much that we can do about the 21+ stuff. Joe can't threaten the promoter because he's involved with Clear Channel and they're HUGE. If he doesn't go along with what the promoter wants most of the time, he wont have a promoter in the future. Sad but true.
Dave Mc - The PowerTab files use MIDI...so if you have a media conflict it might be related to that somehow. Can you play MIDI files by themselves?
MegaBoyd - Congrats on getting a link to work...hehe.

Hi everyone. I'm almost caught up now...I have 3 pages to go...

Apparently I'm Disco Stu in the Simpsons thing that someone posted...LOL.

Wesanator / Scottyl - List yourself as attending the show on the road page and you might win backstage passes.

Narface - I'm sorry about your teacher / friend.
Drumbo - I still can't believe that Jonathan thinks the post didn't come from Joe.
stefstreur - The song "Manhattan" is by Eric Johnson, not Joe Satriani. It appears on the G3 CD, but it's EJ doing it.
kinger - I remember Paddington Bear...LOL. ;-)

I just heard that Jam Master Jay (of Run D.M.C.) was murdered today...shot in the head. I know most people here don't like rap (I can't stand most of it myself), but Run D.M.C. were actually pretty cool. I'm a huge Aerosmith fan, as most people here know, and Run D.M.C.'s remake of Walk This Way in 1986 helped Aerosmith get back into the spotlight. This really sucks.

Evil E - Yes, those are the shades that Joe was wearing.

michelle - Don't forget the LA and LV House Of Blues shows...they're 21+ as well. Blah...

Happy Halloween, Talk To Joe!

Sharif - Congrats on 20 posts...LOL.

kinger - Thanks for the games link.
Mr Nick - Disco Stuuu, not boo...I like it. ;-)
michelle - I remember you mentioning the all ages ICP thing before...that's kinda weird. Then again, we do know that Joe is such an evil person...I mean come on, he writes stuff like Thinking Of You, I Believe, Friends, and Love Thing. ;-) He's really corrupting the minds of our nation's youth, isn't he? Freakin' beer companies...ugh.
voodoochild81 - The fans are saying "Stuuu", not "boo". And Stu isn't on the new album because it's a rock record and Stu isn't really a rock bassist.

Hi all. I'm listening to Ozzy Osbourne's Bark At The Moon now...good album. Does anyone else have any favorite "Halloween" albums?

Also, I thought I'd tell everyone about this link. Clear Channel are the people behind a lot of the 21+ things.

drafter37 - I don't break strings...but then again I play bass and those strings are thicker than guitar strings...LOL. ;-) So I always change all strings at the same time. It's always best to change all strings when you break one, although I guess it's ok to only change one if it breaks shortly after you put a new set on. If you have trouble keeping new strings in tune, tune each string a half-step higher than normal when you string the guitar. Let it sit for a day or two and then tune normally...the strings will stay in tune.
kinger - I've spent most of my time playing Curveball. I played a game similar to that all the time in my computer class in middle school. Fun stuff. Have you ever played Collapse (at shockwave.com)? It's kinda like Tetris...and it's very addicting.
death cube k - Are you the guy with the Joe Perry Les Paul? Someone on this board has one, but I can't remember who it is. ;-) If you have the JP LP, do you have any pictures of it? Also...can I have your music link again? I never got a chance to download the full version of Gargoyles (my internet was down for a long time)... Thanks.

Ya Yo Gakk - I actually got that link from an Aerosmith mailing list that I'm on. They have put thousands (millions?) of Aerosmith fans through so much crap over the past few years. I've heard so many horror stories...it's insane. I can't stand Clear Channel.

Phydeaux3 - That's a cool pumpkin. Happy Halloween...

melzie - The Ultimate Sin is a great album. That's one of mine that I just don't listen to enough. I need to get it out again.
JS Clone 1 - Clear Channel is basically a big monopoly in the entertainment business. They are a concert promoter and they own SFX, which is a company that owns radio stations and concert venues. So the CC radio stations focus on playing songs from bands that are promoted by CC promoters. And the CC promoters design concert tours where artists only play in CC venues all across the country. So they're trying to own everything. If an artist chooses not to use CC venues they at the same time are choosing not to use CC promoters. So the CC radio stations don't play their music...instead, the radio stations choose to play music from bands who are using CC promoters and venues, so they can make the most money. Clear Channel is the reason why American radio has been watered down over the past few years (ever since the 1996 Telecommunications Act). They're also the reason why concert ticket prices are higher.

Well, everyone, I'm going away for the weekend. I'm spending today and tomorrow with a few friends, and then we're all going to see Aerosmith at The Hollywood Bowl on Sunday. It's gonna be a great concert. I'll be back here on Monday, I guess. Behave... ;-)

Karma burger - That tribute album isn't advertised on this site because it's not an official Joe Satriani release.

ovation1 - It's nice to see GHS becoming your SOTDs...hehe. Awesome.
death cube k - I'll download the song right after I'm done here...

Hi everyone... I'm back. The Aerosmith concert last night was AWESOME. I had a great time. If anyone wants to know what the setlist was like, email me privately.

Joe - Thanks for stopping by. :-)

Get a loaf - Thinking Of You is a great song.
McDave - LOL...The Mad Irishman. ;-) Also, I hope your son is ok.
Narface - Happy belated Birthday.
ovation1 - The rock section is labeled "loud" in Japan? That's great...LOL. Oh...Happy 200 as well.
crushingday62 - I bet Joe will do a G3 tour in 2003. The Kirk thing was just a rumor, though.
The Local Person - That Create Your Own Band thing was pretty cool...thanks.
alien surfer2002 - I'm sure Joe will do another G3 tour soon.

Edit - JSC1 - What was that about the Mind Storm with the dots over the O? Where?

brander - Cool. I love hearing from people about their first JS experience.

njbeast - Happy Birthday.
Mr Nick - It's not a race, but I think I'll reach 500 first. I post more frequently than JSC1, but he jumps ahead whenever I go somewhere for the weekend and don't have internet access. Not that it matters, though...I'm spending too much time thinking about this already. ;-)
kinger - I'm sorry to hear about your job. Now about the wisdom teeth, be sure to keep ice on your mouth. Keep it there for the first 2 days or so, even if it doesn't hurt that much...trust me, it'll make things easier later.
Mr Nick - I want to see the Beck / Page / Satriani G3 show. :-)
fret goblin 01 - Joe does have some music videos, although they're fairly old now. He has some for songs like Always..., Summer Song, I Believe, and Big Bad Moon...
JS Clone 1 - Thanks for the info. I looked at the pictures right before I read your post, though, so I figured it out on my own...LOL.
Sephiroth000 - Welcome to the site! Have you seen Joe live?
