Hi everyone. Well, the new site is cool and the new T2J is even cooler. No four hour time limits either...haha. (test) This is bold text . This is a link http://www.satriani.com/. (end test) Also...everyone that liked the old T2J. This is much better with the oldest posts first. You can mark posts as read, so you can always have things in order. It's much easier like this.

xrob - I think the 'edit post' function is there just to correct typos and stuff. If you have anything new to say, you should probably say it in a new post. ;-) Also, Joe's vocal song will probably continue to be Big Bad Moon. It'd be cool to see Red House or Going Down every now and then though. Or I BELIEVE! Hehe...

Zsolt77 - I'd go with what the venue says the date is. If you're still confused, check www.pollstar.com or maybe email the webmaster directly.

antwon - You can get new merchandise once the tour starts...

York - Go to the tour date archives and read my review for the 7/1/01 show. I listed the sets for all three performers and the jam...it was the same for all shows.

ThePsychoMonkey - Welcome to the site!

Vetteguy43 - Joe does cover songs during the G3 shows, but not on his own tours...

Hi all.

Jon - Great continued work on this Strange Beautiful Website. I think the black background here looks much better. Just a comment... The box that says "View Comments From The Last...". The text in the drop down box and the "Go" button are grey and very hard to read. Can you change the color there to black?

Al Surfer - Way to go with the bold step...LOL. ;-)

Quantum - I think PhrygianDominant said that the video file was 90 MB. He'll get it online if someone has webspace.

(test) Can we underline stuff as well? Hehehe... (end test)

Psycho Monkey - Always... is in either 3/4 or 6/8 time.

And again...everyone that doesn't like the new "old posts first" version of T2J... - The old T2J was backwards in a sense...this new way is the way most things are done. And besides, with the "mark read" feature, there really shouldn't be any problems. Read the new stuff, then mark it all read. Then when you come back, start at the top and read the whole page. Simple. ;-)

Hi everyone... Some other people have mentioned new nicknames...so I guess I should think of one too. Stu won't be touring with Joe and the LISF questions have slowed down, so I can probably get rid of this nickname for now. ;-) I'll probably twist a new song title into a cool nickname.

Once again, for everyone that doesn't understand the bonus track thing... The way the world economy works, it's cheaper for people in foreign countries to buy imports from the USA than it is for them to buy local Japan or Europe versions. To encourage these people to buy their local versions, bonus tracks are added.

ged - Yamboy's text is green because he's the webmaster. Yamboy is his other user name.

Vetteguy43 - The coil tap is a feature that keeps the guitar tone intact when you play at lower volumes. From what I've heard, it's more than worth it to save up and buy the JS1000 instead of the JS100.

Squares - We'll get new merchandise once the tour starts.

guitarded boy - Your address doesn't have to be made public, but it has to be correctly filled out in your profile. Basically, make sure the "First Name" and "Last Name" fields have your real first and last name, instead of something like "Satch Is Awesome" or "SBM Rocks!"... If you win the passes, you have to show ID at the gate to claim them...and your ID obvously won't say "Satch Is Awesome" on it. ;-)

Hi everyone...

Vetteguy43 / PhrygianDominant / The Local Person - Sorry abut the incorrect info...as you said, Paul, I was talking about the high pass filter. I don't own a JS1000 and I got confused in my head, LOL. I was just trying to help, so thanks for the corrections. :-) Vetteguy43, let us know when you get the new guitar... And also...about your other comment... I doubt a tab section will appear on this site because many of Joe's albums are tabbed in books available online (amazon.com, etc.).

gruskada - That song was mentioned on here a lot right after it came out... I've heard it and Joe's solo is awesome.

king916 - List yourself as attending your show on the tour pag and you might get picked as a backstage pass winner.

PepperBass - I play bass... I have one of Stu's Urge II's as well as a cheap (but very nice) Washburn. I play through a Korg PX3B into a Fender Bassman 60 watt kickback... What about you?

Pampersnake23 - Yeah it's an awesome surprise. I kinda tore the bottom corner of the box to get to it, but it's worth it. For those that don't know what the surprise is, don't read my next paragraph...

evbro - I didn't want to mention the surprise on here when it first came up (a few months ago) to give people time to discover it on their own...but I guess it's ok to spill the beans now... If you unscrew the bottom portion of The Secret Jewel Box, there is a small compartment that contains an extra CD. It's an interview CD that has Steve Vai talking about all of the stuff that he hopes to include in the box.

IbaNick - Yeah, I wasn't moving around that much at the LISF gig. I was in awe for the most part...LOL...I've never been that close to a band on stage before. I did a lot of moving around during the first set, but during intermission a lot of people tried to weasel their way up to the front... MegaBoyd and the other people up front didn't have to worry about it because they were up on the front railing...but every time I moved people would creep in on my space...LOL. I'm going go nuts at the KX/DT/JS show on 8/11 though. :-)

IbaNick - There's one more thing that I forgot to mention. Ya know that one camera angle on the DVD that's the camera on the robotic arm that sweeps over the stage towards Stu? That thing would always fly within inches of the top of my head...hehe...so I had to be careful not to jump up and hit it or something. That would've been funny...

webmaster - Thanks for adding the underline and fixed-width text options. We can do just about everything now. :-)

alien32 - I'm actually wearing a white long sleeved shirt under a black Joe Satriani tshirt. Go here to see a picture of me with Joe after the 7/1/01 G3 show. I'm wearing the same shirt at the LISF gig, with the white shirt under it. As I think I mentioned before, I'm in just about every establishing shot taken by the camera on the robotic arm. Other than that, the easiest places to see me are:

1.) At the very end of Disc 1. The camera pans through the crowd after Summer Song. I reach up to wipe sweat off my face as the picture fades out.

2.) During the call and response section of Surfing With The Alien on Disc 2. I'm smiling / yelling / singing back to Joe's guitar...

3.) If you have good eyes, you can see me in line outside before the show, in the extra footage at the end of the DVD. I'm wearing the same clothes, as well as a NY Yankees hat.

webmaster - I said something about one of the buttons on the site...maybe you misunderstood me (If you weren't talking about my post, I'm sorry for repeating myself). The six buttons (Post Message, View New, Mark All Unread, etc.) show up fine with grey text on a blue background. I was talking about the drop down box below those buttons...the text there (1 hour, 2 hours,..., 6 months, etc.) shows up as grey text with white background. And then the "Go" button is a light grey box with a darker grey lettering. I think the text in both of these areas is supposed to be black. It's just a small thing, but I guess it's worth mentioning. If you're still confused I can email you a JPG screen capture so you can see what I'm talking about...

Also...the pictures sound pretty cool...thanks. And the online listening party sounds like an awesome idea. :-)

Al Surfer - Yeah, I know Austin-peats don't count...haha. It was funny...I had a bunch of posts in a row where I either forgot to mention stuff, or people posted new things in the time it took me to write the previous post. I feel kinda bad, almost. It's good that the 4 hour limit is gone, but if I post too often Jon'll put it back up. I need to be quiet for a while, I guess... ;-)

paradigm shift24 - Trust me, this way will be much better in the long run. Once you get up to date with everything and use the "mark read" feature, all of the new comments should be able to fit on one page.

quasitar - I think Joe played Crushing Day back on the Surfing... tour, but he hasn't played it since. He's talked about it on the website here, after numerous requests by us fans. He basicaly said it's hard to get a live arrangement that works well with the song. Good news, though...Joe said that he'd give the song another shot on this tour. We'll just have to wait and see...

akreepish1 - The Urge II is awesome. It is beyond super cool...LOL. You can get any sound in the world with it...no joke. The pickups are wonderful and the fingerboard is so smooth...slides are a piece of cake. I love mine...I'm going to try to get some sound clips online soon.

wadep - I have a feeling that Joe's favorite Ibanez guitar is his JS1000 signature model. ;-)

roundy - Welcome to the site...it's always nice to see new faces around here. =)

PhrygianDominant - What newsgroup? You don't have to post it here if you don't want to...I understand. But can you email me privately? I read alt.fan.joe-satriani and it is so dead there. I'm not interested in the pirated stuff obviously, but if the newsgroup that you mentioned is pretty active I'd like to start reading it...LOL. Thanks...

Hi there, everyone. I'm sorry for my barrage of posts last night...LOL. I won't post that often in the future, I promise. :-)

Higain - You can find Additional Creations on ebay for less than $10.

philwisejr - I think Matt King here on the site tabbed out the intro. Maybe ask him to send it to you.

Guitarpsycho - Is Dream Theater any good? ;-) I can't believe you asked that question...hehe. Go buy their Live Scenes From New York.

shirow66 - That bluesy thing on the webcast was probably just a warmup jam track that Joe had...it didn't have much of a song "structure" to it. I don't think it was ever intended for release...

Quantum - I think Jon mentioned somewhere that Joe likes reading this T2J style instead of a threaded message board.

JS Clone 1 - We don't need a time limit...it hasn't really been abused yet. The edit post feature is probably there to correct typos and stuff... And the increase of activity here is due to more new visitors, I think. It's nice to have a few new faces here.

Vetteguy43 - I would suggest that you start slow. Use a metronome, and tap slowly... Focus on getting a clean sound at first, don't worry about speed...that will come later. You have to hit different frets in different spots to get the best sound sometimes...just experiment with it and you'll figure it all out.

alien32 - I don't remember who the guy in the white shirt was. Jeff gave his sticks to that guy's kids, and Stu gave a pack of strings to them too. I know he posted on here shortly after the show...search through the archives. I think Boyd knows who he is. Anyway, your girlfriend thinks that I'm cute? If you ever break up, give me her number, ok? Just kidding... ;-)

ziane - Tributes aren't only for people that have passed away.

TurkeyMan27 - Yamboy and webmaster are the same person... The Yamboy name was probably for unofficial posting and testing the site, and the webmaster one was probably for webmaster duties. But he uses both names all the time for both purposes now, I guess.

Cainester - You'll be able to buy merchandise at the shows...I don't know if we'll be able to buy stuff over the website, but if we are it probably won't happen until the tour starts.

Invigor - I don't think there should be any reason to have a time limit if all of the posts people make are intelligent and coherent (kinda like what you said). If we get bombed with cut and pasters, then yeah, I'd say we need a time limit...but not until then. The edit feature has nothing to do with the time limit. It's an "edit" feature, not an "add more to your post" feature. And the edit feature only changes old posts. It doesn't make the post a "new" post. If you edit your post, people that have already read it won't see the new information that you've added. As far as one person making two or three posts...I guess you're talking to me. I don't make a post until I've caught up with everything on the board. But if it takes 10 minutes for me to write a post, more people have posted during that time. I don't read those posts until after I post my first message... So after that, I reply to the posts that happened during my typing...sometimes that means that two of my posts end up next to each other. Last night it ended up being three posts... I could've combined two of those into one post, and I apologized for it.

Hi all... Happy Saturday. Has anyone seen the movie Memento? I thought someone said something about it here recently but I don't remember. I bought the limited edition 2 DVD set yesterday and watched it last night. It's really cool.

sharon - Info about bold text, etc., is all listed at the bottom of the "Post Message" page...right under the "Post this message" button. So, to make something appear in bold text, put [ b ] in front of the text and [ /b ] after the text (but remove the spaces between the []s and the b or /b. And then you do the same thing for the other formatting...just replace "b" with "i" or "u" or "link"... Make sense? And then your other comment... Did you say you want the most recent posts to appear first, like the old Talk To Joe page was? Things are much easier this new way. Click the "mark read" button below the last post you read when you visit the site...and then when you come back you can start at the top and work your way to the bottom. It's so much easier this way. ;-)

eye 66 - I think Joe is great the way he is. The studio albums are completely different from the live performances, in a sense. I expect the live shows to include more random improvisation. It's easier to improvise when you only have 3 or 4 guys on stage instead of 6 or 7.

xrob - I've made the three longest posts? What do I win? ;-) I wonder if there's a message size limit... Someone should try to make a post that's a mile long.

Mo guitar / FTZ - Stu is doing his own thing. He has 4 solo albums out as well as 2 with Frank Gambale and Steve Smith (with a third on the way). He's always been more than just "Joe's bassist"...

JS Clone 2 - I think the increase in posting is due to the sound clips and an increase in visitors...it's not because of the new format. Go look at the archives from when EOC came out. There were a ton of posts then. It'll get quieter here in a bit...

PhrygianDominant - Be honest...you didn't pick this username because it's musical...you picked it because PhrygianDominant is the hardest username to spell on this site. ;-) Am I the only one that has trouble getting it right?

stach - Honestly, radio in the US doesn't support instrumental music all that much either. It stinks.

Dany72 - The webmaster made a note about the correct date a few days ago. Scroll back a few pages and look for his bright green text.

I just saw my picture with Joe from the 7/1/01 Konocti G3 show on the main page. I love it when I see myself like that...LOL.

jcmtgh - Joe usually stops by here every few days to say something. Last week the site was redesigned, and Joe hasn't been back since. I imagine he's busy getting ready for the tour, so give him a few days and he'll come back. Each band member had their own color to post in...Joe used blue.

Did anyone else see the USA/Mexico World Cup match tonight? It was a great game...the US won 2-0. I think this is the first time that they've ever made it to the Round Of 8. It was a very physical 2nd half...I'm glad the US was able to pull it out. Congrats to them...

Well, I'm off to bed.

The Local Person - Yeah, some of that stuff was nuts (what they did to Cobi Jones or whatever his name is). He's the guy that they pinned in the corner, hit in the back, and stepped on his calf...right? I also thought some of the taunting Mexico was getting into was a little too much. If the only way you can win is by provoking the other team into getting yellow and red cards, it's pretty sad. Putting all of the physical stuff aside, though, Mexico played a great game.

gruskada - I don't think you can request Mind Storm because right now I think Starry Night is the only song radio stations have (the single). I think you have to wait until June 25. As far as why Joe usually picks the softer songs for singles...think about it. Mind Storm would only get played on rock stations. But something like Starry Night or Always... would get rock stations, as well as pop, jazz, etc. More people have a chance to hear Joe if a softer song is released.

Valdir - Additional Creations was only available in a few stores in the US. It isn't available anymore, but you should be able to find one on ebay for about $10.

gruskada - I know what you're saying too...but record companies are weird sometimes. It seems like in general they'd rather have a song that'll fit a lot of formats, instead of a song that "hits you really hard". It kinda stinks, but oh well... There isn't much that we can do.
