joe i just recieved my ticket to your san diego concert. this is soo cool. im puting off leaving for college, just because i have bought the tickets. as soon as the show is over the next day i leave home! but its one of those great adventures that i just have to do. i just bought the new album, i have to say that it is amazing in that it personifies so many different aspects of your musicallity. when i listened to it i heard a little bit of everything, and some weird stuff from somewhere else. hey i also bought an old record (dreaming #11), it has four songs on it - crush of love, ice nine, memories and hordes of locusts. i want to have you sign it if i get the chance, it would make a nice college dorm decoration. i cant wait to see the show and im prayin for backstage passes. take care joe and band and everybody. oh, and "what breaks a heart" is definately my favorite off the new album. -thegoose Curtis Smith.

hey all, and joe. guess what, i got a job working with bees this summer (just like steve vai) and ya know what, it is hard. but oh well, money for guitar and college. man im ready for the aug. 9 show joe. im gonna be there early so you can sign some of my stuff im taking to college and to see everybody set up. i love watching all that equiptment get set up, it makes me space out to a far off happy place. i have listened to the new album about,,, a million times, and track 9(what breaks a heart) is my personal favorite. the chords in that one part sound a lot like that old song by dire straights( sultans of swing) or something like that. needless to say that song makes me scratch my head, laugh and cry every time i listen to it. especially that ska/high pitch saw blade sound/ part. well im gonna keep working and waiting, all you guitarists out there keep jammin,, oh, hats off to matt thats awsome man! and joe- you da man ----thegoose curtissmith

for the lady with the question about tuning- here is what i do... if it helps you out great, but no promises-- first you use your el cheapo tuner and find E(deep). this may be hard. you are probably to low or down near D somewhere so you have to turn the peg away from you to get the string tighter and get that low E back to normal. if your quick tune is reading A#or B you are too high and need tune down(by turning the peg the other way). once you have the E tuned right you can use the E to tune all the other strings. fret the E 6th string at the 5th fret and then make the second(A string) match its tone. what you are doing is creating an A note on the E string. once you have A you can move from A to D by fretting at the 5th again and you can do the same to get from D to G. once you have those finished you can fret from G to B by freting at the 4th string.(this would be the 4th string 4th fret. once you have the B you can fret the B at the 5th fret to get the high E. once you think you ve got it check and see if both E's are tonally similar. it takes practice and once its mastered this little tool is priceless. so thats how i learned it good luck and if you got any other questions you can email me @ thegoose23@yahoo.com --oh, and hi joe and band--

if any body ever stole my guitar id hunt them down and probably do things id regret. the bond between musician and instrument is deep. you dont screw with it. you dont steel it. thats wayyyy low. and you dont joke about it. cause its not funny.

hey all. and joe. its my 19th birthday today. ive been a faithfull satchfan since 1999! ever since i heard (TMPHGT) it changed the way i thought about the guitar. it was instant... i never knew you could do things like that. i thought it was impossible to play metallica...haha, now my horizion has expanded exponentially. thanks joe for three great years of listening, feeling and truely enjoying. i hope to be a fan for many to come and to teach my children and their children about real music. - curtis smith (thegoose)
