Hey Gang! I just posted a couple new mp3's to my website if anyone is interested. One is a cover of "Raspberry Jam" I did about a year ago when I figured out how to use my GT-3's whammy function. It was my first time trying to play it all the way through, so....go easy on me. The other track is an ACID backing track I'm calling "Sounds like Boston" because...well, it sounds like Boston. I haven't figured out anything to play over it yet. Anyway, lemme know what you think. Compliments and constructive criticism are both welcome. Today is the DAY!!! Going to pick up two copies of Joe's new disc today! Can't wait for the Grand Prairie show! **Peace** KenC. http://kencampbell.iuma.com

Hey Gang! I'd like to get some feedback on two new tracks I posted to my IUMA site. One is a cover of "Raspberry Jam" I recorded about 10 months ago and just now got it put up. It was a one take attempt at recording it, so there are some pretty funny mistakes in it that will make you laugh. The other is an ACID backing track called "Sounds Like Boston". Drop in and let me know what you think. JOE: Break a leg on tour man!! See you in Grand Prairie, TX on the 16th of August! **Peace** KenC.

Hey Gang! I just got a new toy for my guitar. A Behringer V-Amp 2 processor. For $115 its the best bang for the buck I've ever seen. I've been trying for months to get good heavy rectified tones out of my Boss GT-3 with no luck. Bought the V-amp 2, plugged it in...and BLAM! I couldn't believe the insane tones I was getting through the effects loop on my Peavey Special 212. Anyone who is looking for effects and is shopping for a Line6....don't even go that route. The V-amp blows it away. Only things that I don't like are its weird shape, case is made out of hard plastic, and there is no on/off switch. If they made a rack mounted version it would really rule. Anyway.....check it out if you've been shopping around. **peace** KenC. http://kencampbell.iuma.com

Joe - Dude, I'm so pissed to hear that Pearly got nabbed. I know that you gotta be reeling still from the loss of Rainforest and Blue Donnie. This just adds insult to injury. I think you should hunt down the MUTHAFu|<|<AS who did it and pop'em a new A$$hole right in their foreheads. Sorry, but slime like that should just flat out be removed from the gene pool. If you need it though.....I could let you use my guitar as a replacement. Here's a picture of it: http://iuma.speedera.net/artists.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/Ken_Campbell/images/lg-133511.jpg. I could ship it to you at a moments notice. You could have Mike Manning put some Seymore Duncan Pearlies in it and you'd be no worse for the wear. Just let me know man. We're here for ya. **Peace** KenC. http://kencampbell.iuma.com

CHRISCEO: Hey man, I have a JS1000. The new necks on the JS1000 have the multi-radius fretboards, meaning, the radius is larger toward the Headstock and then slowly flatten out as you work your way to the neck pickup. Its a very comfortable neck and has a more "rounded" feel than the necks on the JEM77's and RG570's. The neck usually comes stock with 22 medium frets and THAT is proabaly going to be your biggest adjustment. Going from 24 frets to 22. You'll have to re-teach yourself some upper fretwork positions as you'll be lacking the extra 2 steps. You'll also have to learn to make higher bends at the 22nd fret, which can be hard on the fingers if you don't have good callouses.
Hope this helps, man.

Hey gang! How's it all going in Satchland? Good I hope. I posted a new tune on my website for anyone that is interested (Sorry for the shameless self promotion). I'm calling it "Walking the Path" and its really nothing more than an Idea at this stage. A work in progress if you will. Its mellow and kind of meandering. Anyway, I'd be interested in any feedback or constructive criticism anyone would be willing to offer.

Joe - Hey man! What is this? Grammy Nom #12? 13? Judging from the noms this year, you should have little problem winning this time. They really need to invite you to perform this year. Anyway, the longtimers here know how I feel about the Grammy's, so I'll leave it at that. But, it would be nice if you are finally recognized by those schmucks, seeing as how they've been stiffin' you for the last 12 or 13 years.
As far as setlist changes: "Bells of Lal, Part 2" is a must. Also, "Memories", "Clouds Race Across the Sky", and "Time Machine" would all be good choices.
Enjoy the next few shows. Hurry and get back to Texas real soon. We love ya down here.
**Peace**

Hey gang! Hope all are enjoying the new year so far.
I was kinda depressed last night and came up with a tune. I'm calling it "Who Am I", fitting since I was wondering that question last night for some reason. Its basically just a test track.....I haven't written or recorded any verses or done the fade out yet, but it sounds pretty good i think so far.
Constructive criticism is welcome, so drop in and let me know what ya think?
Joe: Thanks for all the inspiration man! You keep me playing!
**Peace**

Hey Joe, you did a show in Tuscon, AZ a day or so ago and you stopped off at a radio station and played "Stary Night". My friend Tim was there and met you along with his brother-in-law who was a D-jock at the station. QUESTION: What guitar was that you had? Its a JS, but I've never seen that finish on any of your guitars before. Is it new or one that's been sitting in your vault for a long time? Did one of your sisters paint it?

Joe: Planet Us kicks ass!! So cool to see you hooking up with those guys. I think this band is one of the dream bands people have been wishing for since the late 80's early 90's, before Seattle grunge came and screwed everything up (Except for Pearl Jam's "10", that album was a CANNON!). No one can wail like Sammy. Micheal Anthony's bass and vocals are awesome. Neal Schon and Joe.....in the same band? Holy Shiznit! Neal is an absolute bad ass on the instrument, just listen to any Journey disc or his "Electric World" solo album.....the guy is phenominal!
Question though: I know Neal is very controlling when it comes to his music and I know you are no different when it comes to yours. How do you think you guys will work together? Will there be a rivalry of sorts to see who's gonna take the "lead guitar" position on a particular song?
Man, I'm so hyped about this!!

CLARKY, Yeah man....I'm on the list to submit a tune....I'm trying to get a good recording of "MultiAxis" together.....but I'm having problems getting something down that I like. I'm beginning to think that song just sucks and has no future. I might bail out of the project if I don't get a solid track down by next week.

TO OUR TROOPS: "No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country. Men, the stuff we heard about America not wanting to fight, wanting to stay out of the war, was a lot of horse shit. Americans traditionally love to fight. All real Americans love the sting of battle. Americans play to win at all times. I wouldn't give a hoot and hell for a man who lost and laughed. That's why Americans have never lost nor ever lose a war." - George S. Patton
All my hopes and prayers go out to our troops and the Iraqi people.

I don't classify Viet Nam as a "war" for the US, because the government didn't allow the military in most cases to fight it the way it wanted, to fight it the way it should have been fought. I classify it more as a political fiasco that cost the lives of alot of our young men and women, my uncle included. The reason for US involvement was unclear. If we had fought it as a "War" and not a "police action", the rules of engagement would have been different and we would have squashed the North Vietnamesein less than a year.
Also, America didn't lose the war in Korea. The war was halted before we could achieve victory. That war, to this day is still unresolved. As you know, a cease fire has been in effect for the last 53 years.
Anyway, I knew some smart guy would try to correct Patton. Since I don't want to get into an argument, I'll concede. America's record is 3 - 1 - 1 (3 wins, WWI, WWII, 1st. Gulf War / 1 Tie, Korea / 1 loss, Viet Namm)
Sorry Joe, didn't mean to start a political discussion on a music site. Just concerned for our troops and those involved in the conflict.

Well, I'm a warmonger....decendent from a long line of warmongers. My family's blood is on the American Flag. I totally support what we are doing. And to all the protesters? I think its great that we live in a country where we aren't capped in the forehead for our ideals and beliefs. The Iraqi people haven't been so lucky, but that should be changing for them soon. Freedom, its a great thing! Its worth fighting for.
Of course, if everyone on the planet listened to Satch's tunes.......world peace would be right around the corner.
