i don't like yngwie because he plays the same shit all the time, if thats what he feels like playing thats great play what YOU want to play but ill listen to something else.... he has some catchy tunes but they are ruined by the lame singers, i really dont care for singers when it comes to something in a guitar driven song, i'd rather listen to the guitar and where he's going with it and what hes saying with it than some jackass with a mic... some yngwie tunes that i liked but were ruined by vocals = queen in love, you don't remember, i'll never forget (i dig the riff on that one), a potentially really good song called "i don't know" totally sucks balls because of the dude singing, yngwie had some good playing on that tune....too bad he tries too hard to be commercial. he has the ability to write good tunes but locks himself into a rut, i think he's got the harmonic minor scale down pat, why not try something else? then again who am i to tell him what to play... the guy lives in a kick ass house in miami and drives ferrari's, he must have done something right...
greyfox - yeah im like that... my mind races, i think about all kinds of shit and i cant get any sleep... sometimes its a pain in the ass cause i will go to bed at 12 midnight and have to get up at 4:30am to catch a plane to phoenix, and i wont get ANY sleep and that sucks cause i gotta drive 6 hours back home...if i have any vicodin or valium or something ill takes those, boom out like a light. be careful though u can get addicted quick, i figure if i didn't get addicted to cigs i have a good chance of not getting addicted to those either LOL.

GREYFOX- it's Danney Alkana, not joe or steve or yngwie...he's a good guitarist who did some cool classical tune covers and called the cd "rock the bach", its a nice cd and i listen to it often... i think jon should have that as a rolling ticker on the bottom of the site in RED "joe did not record beethoven's 5th, formula 51, or the top gun anthem"
edit - BTW congrats joe on the top 100 billboard debut, as you can see theres tons of people who crave your guitar driven tuneage...rock on, and on and on.

AUSTIN- great pics...that one that says "flying in a blue dream, i think" is definitely flying...i love that part where he hits that high note, then goes one note lower and plays it the same way... i love the pic of you and joe with the t-shirt, it looks like you guys are folding laundry HAHAHAHA i busted up when i saw it, thats where joe got the callouses!
listening to "sleeping bag" by ZZ top, damn he has a great sound on that tune... whats he doing lots of compression? it sound awesome

satch winning a grammy probably would do nothing for his career, it has little bearing on whether or not people will listen to his music... it's just not a popular genre, it's rap, hip hop & r&b, and a little country, even rock is dead though you will hear countless media outlets &personalities call everyone from britney spears to the backstreet boys, puff daddy to avril lavigne "rock stars"....joe winning a grammy is only recognition and praise from the powers that be in the biz, the true powers that be are us and we've already affirmed joe's greatness... no grammy award can ever replace the recognition his fans have given him over the years....cause when it comes down to it we really dont give a fuck if he wins one or not, it won't make his music any different

BOO.... ya yo here... whats been going on? i've been moving from one place to the other, still trying to get the internet hooked up over there so i come back to the old pad to use the net... my cousin came down from oregon for 3 weeks, did the disneyland thing... the guy is incredible on the piano...he busted out polonaise by Chopin, a bunch of Mozart, Bach, Beethoven and Schumann stuff...it's funny cause he taught himself by ear, and tried to join the school band (high school) and they told him he was better than everyone put together but he couldn't join cause he couldn't read music....so he taught himself LOL. he wants to go to a conservatory or something....my aunt told me he cried when he got off the plane cause he didnt want to go home, he hates home....but if you lived in oregon, then spent 3 weeks in san diego and had to go back you'd hate home too LOL. he even picked up my guitar and started playing classical stuff by ear, and he's never really played guitar so i gave him my jackson. i played the live in san francisco DVD for him and he was mesmerized, he calls joe a master, musical genius, a viruoso of epic proportions... i told him joe would say "nahh...i just play what i feel" lol... thats basically my summer thus far...still taking psychology classes at college, doing physiological psychology now... probably gonna take behavioral science statistics in the fall though i hate math with a passion... stay safe & healthy everyone, rock on joe...

couple of thoughts... i see joe is now charging for a meet & greet? might be good for those who would never otherwise have a chance to meet joe but to me it seems so lame... i would never PAY to meet someone, i'd rather meet someone for the respect i bestow upon them than the respect they bestow upon my wallet... in fact i'd be insulted LOL, i dunno whats up with joe pimping himself out....hope it's for a good cause.
another thought, it's quite sad that there must a list of what not to do when meeting joe but it is quite necessary! there are all kinds of people who just start talking a million miles an hour and try to monopolize a person's time....no class, joe is human too

AUSTIN - i guess luini and co don't like the fact that fans may save videos of joe....posted on joe's own site. with quicktime pro you can save the entire video if the author of the video allows you to do so needless to say the author did not allow it, we might sell the video afterall.... anyhow after using about 5 different stream recorders and finding that none of them worked on the rtsp protocol i went to my last resort --- RiverPast Screen Recorder .... it allows you to select a region on your screen to record to a video file (w/audio) using whichever video codec you want, but due to some video card's using hardware overlay (video is sent straight to the card to play using card's power instead of being sent through OS layer) you have to go to quicktime preferences and select "safe mode (GDI only)" and it will then play through the OS layer and allow riverpast to record it... i used divx 5.1 and it worked awesome, looked exacly like the stream did... if you need a serial # for either divx or riverpast email me.... vairox@hotmail.com ....that goes for anyone....theres no point in keeping people from saving the webcast, plain retarded... whats next...key2audio?

ZENFISH- word is EVH is playing like total shit on this tour, missing notes and playing sloppy...IMO EVH is done he needs to retire, if not for self respect, for the respect of the fans.... i recant my EVH for G3 proposal, in fact i would not go to G3 is EVH was on it....no way in hell

5 things i think i think about EVH:
1 - i think EVH has some deep set psychological issues, perhaps counseling may help
2 - i think EVH is too emotionally sensitive, some may say unstable
3 - i think EVH will never join G3, it's not his cup of tea, he doesnt have the same perspective on guitar playing joe & steve have
4 - i think EVH was undoubtedly the most awesome guitarist of the late late 70's early 80's
5 - i think EVH has lost "it"

ZENFISH- i love EVH's style, you can tell right away it's him by his playing... in my all time top 5 fav guitarists he's in there, but i don't think he deals with criticism well, perhaps it has made him self conscious which is why he always lashes out angrily when someone tells him "VH III" sucked, or "you can't sing" or "get roth" etc... EVH has never been good at dealing with people, he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that just takes criticism for what it is....who cares what people think? you play what YOU want to play, if the fans dont like it they wont buy it....but don't let it rip through you like a chainsaw with a V-8.... perhaps EVH really wants to plaease all the people all the time....
CLAARKY- i hope it's not true, but from what i see & hear it looks that way.....he doesn't have the spark anymore, the fire...the EVH drive.... it's as if joe satriani quit music and started a lemonade stand... would really make you feel ill, thats how i feel about EVH....i want to remember him for when he kicked our asses, not for when he played & looked like our asses.

OME- ZZ was with joe one of the times i met him, seems like a quiet kid....kinda like his father, but wait till he gets behind a guitar.... joe tends to keep his family private, which is fine....it's HIS family afterall, plus maybe his wife doesn't really care to be in public life, i wouldnt i know that....hell maybe she's antisocial like me who knows... rock on...

in other news i got a speeding ticket day before yesterday....was going 52 in a 30...grrr... i came home right away and did traffic school online, i was done in a little over an hour, hopefully they might dismiss my ticket cause i was so quick to make it right....then again i'm sure they'd love to fix their budget crisis by slapping all us college students with speeding tickets, i mean....we make so much $ we can afford it, right?

OVATION1- yeah, thats cool that phrygian sent that to him....jonathan knew it was joe who said that, im sure joe said it to him and that was the second time he had heard it, or more likely the 5th or 6th by that time with as many times as joe brought him on.... i'm not saying the dude sucks but his attitude does, if you dont like someone's music why play with them? i mean....would you drum for blondie? not likely, the guy coulda just took a hike and told joe to find someone who was into what he was doing instead of pretending to be and being a drag. i thought joe just thought he couldnt keep time and kicked him out....till i read that, just shows you the kinda people who lurk in the shadows of the business...pretetend to be your friend then sabotage your shit by being a lame.... jeff is a good drummer for joe, hes kinda goofy and plays great.... hopefully stu will come back some day to work on another project, the 3 of them really kicked ass together.

PACKERS- check it out.... yeah Kobe will walk, BUT he will pay and i'll tell you why.... the "victim" was only going for cash, she got upwards of $20k from some victim compensation fund.... by the way where the fuck were they when some assfuck hit my car 4 months ago? anyway what her and her attorneys (thats what they're in it for right) think is that if the charges are dropped then everyone will take a 180 and say "oh my god what an injustice, rich famous celebrity gets away with raping a girl" and it's cash in time making him pay millions in compensation aka "justice"....the sad thing is it might work, i can only say....thats one expensive whore.
SASSI- won't happen.... ed is ed and he isn't into music the way joe and steve are, ed does his own thing.... ed doesnt like to share the spotlight, look what happened with DLR...ed would probably let his insecurities come to the surface and view it as a competition which it is far from, so don't count on it...but hey if someone throws him down on the ground just right he might smack his head and come to a realization.

hey joe whats goin' down.....down down down down down..... just got G3 in Denver DVD....not too impressed, your set is great and sounds great, steve's too but whats with yngwie? when you all jam together someone mixed him out.....i can barely hear him, you and steve are right up front and hes way off somewhere, like hes playing through a can.....on the other side of the room. thats basically my only complaint, and the fact that it wasn't as energy filled and kick ass as previous video projects but its still pretty good....keep on keepin on.
been rainy dark and grey....but thats ok.....for some reason when its all dark and grey and rainy i get all excited....i hate the sun....too hot, too bright, too many people outside.....when its rainy no one wants to go out, but me....i find big puddles of water to drive through and places to do donuts...woo hoo. stay safe everyone

i'm totally pissed...... i wanted to order the Eric Clapton crossroads guitar festival DVD, even though it benefits that marble floored gold bathtub drug rehab for the super rich on the island of antigua but i REFUSE to..... they OMITTED jeff beck's one song performance, what the fuck? YOU DO NOT OMIT JEFF FUCKING BECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what kind of shit is that? i dont care if it "started to rain" you put him in the DVD god damn it...... i was pumped to order this thing, not only for the performances of all the other players (vai included) but because jeff beck was on it and getting video of beck playing is tough as hell, he doesnt put stuff out... this totally sucks, anyone else think that sucks? bah..... eric clapton pisses me off....

DO THE STU - how do we know he wasn't just cut ? obviously he wanted to be a part of what was going on in raising money for his "drug rehab" translate resort island getaway so why would he agree to be a part of raising money ONLY in showing up but not in raising money by being a part of the DVD ? according to a lot of those who went to the concert back's performance was by far the greatest, you could hear a pin drop etc.... maybe thats why he was cut..... either way it sucks and i won't buy it, eric johnson kicks ass, him and vai are the only real reasons to own it IMO although there are a lot of great blues artists on there.... but IMO it has two bad things going for it - 1 - raising money for a bullshit drug rehab (like IMUS does with his ranch) and 2 - jeff beck isn't on it, though he played at the gig.... it's like buying the 96' G3 dvd to find out eric johnson isnt on there.... it's just bad, as for clapton i think hes got major 'tude.... never liked him, theres something about the guy that rubs me wrong, a fake persona of sorts.... i bet hes a real asshole if you get to know him, hate people like that..... be real.
