Locrian Mode (H-W-W-H-W-W-W) Locrian mode is considered to be so unstable and unsatisfying that most composers consider it unworkable. There are few songs written in the Locrian mode, which has lead some music experts to label it a 'theoretical' mode. It exists because all seven notes of the Ionian scale could form modes in a mathematical sense, but the relationship between intervals in the Locrian mode is simply not that interesting musically.

more on the subject of the les paul 90th birthday party.... from an email to lukather -
Not filmed, they were audio recorded. The German radiostation WDR2 will air one hour of the concert within about 2-3 weeks. Later on there will be a cd release in Germany and Austria. We'll keep ya informed via the website.
so apparently it WAS recorded, no video though.... hopefully joe will make it to the CD so we can hear satch boogie on a les paul haha...
STEVEE T wasn't surprised joe was there... he's a fan, of not only his work but his pioneering techniques.... les paul is a legend....a genius.

JOE- cool, was reading up on Mozart at wikipedia (awesome place) and saw that as his last quote, then the pic of you in his house flashed in my head and i was like "AH HA!" since you are a Mozart fan i figured that might have been where you got it, rock on...

Extremist85- hey man.... to do that satch patented move you use harmonics....pretty easy after you do it a couple imes, i think he uses his left thumb and holds it over the E and B strings at the bridge pickup and plays the harmonic there, then pulls the whammy bar up.... experiment, you'll get it, i cant play one song and i can do it.
