Jazz guitar: try to find a place where you can turn up to ten for an extended period of time. Nothing helps more to improvising than "Feeling" yourself play at a concert loudness. And don't be to hard on your self or listen too close. Just close enough to enjoy what you are playing. Then you can experience holding on to notes. The lagato stuff will come with performance/practice. I sometimes critque my self to stringently when I play. Having an audience is next!!! Good luck, and play on. Joe: Some great questions! and great answers! Hope to see you at a private concert if I win "The Bone" contest. It's on my B-Day they pick the winner! Maybe i can get you to sign my guitar!?(Lets see if I win first....)KTF

JS1: I'm not sure why you had a hard time with my message. Maybe it was the other way around. I had thought you were going to change the trem on your guitar. Sorry. It's not like I don't customize my guitars. You should see what i've done to my pro. Count your blessings, everybody. it's better than grouse. KTF

Richard: No Info on the jem site? Ibanez custom shop site? I still have a Yamaha rgx 211 in parts in my studio. Have been having to much fun with my new Jacson DXMG. I wish I could be more of a help to you, but fear i would give bad advice. Good luck with it. Maybe the Satch family will give a good word on the subject that will make all the difference. Have my fingers crossed on the bone yard contest! Maybe I can have a private concert from Joe! They decide on my b-day. I will be listening. Joe:Thanks for taking all the suggestions we give and making any of them come true! Question: If you could play YOUR Favorite song>>>>>What would that song be?

Joe: Break a leg tonight! I'm sure the Concord show will be great! Hopfully the fans won't fill the hospital afterward. (Take it easy guy's!) Steven and I got a good amp buy on the 9th. Two GK 250's to play through! I'm stoked! I owned a rack mount version years ago, and was sorry It fried. Now WE can play clubs. I'm loving that Oreintal Melody more and more. That blue corsica that let you in to traffic, that was me. (You can tell the limo driver). Keep smiling! KTF

Paul: Good to have the experience of seeing Joe enough times live to have a favorite performance to compaire the latest to! Yes you have a much more discriminative ear, but that's just the perfectionist in you. Once you listen to the album a bit more, it'll grow on you. Keep in mind not all songs are going to please you all of the time. Count your blessings........... instead of rating them. You will be happier. Keep playing, you have great stuff. Take care of the kid (I know you do) and KTF Joe: Some how I think you've heard "Above the Numbers." Your stuff is WAY better! Peace

Sandman72: looking to improve your legato style? Practice playing in place one fret at a time in a row. 1234. then on the next string over(either direction) 1234. then use the ittalian rehersal method, go faster, and faster...until it's just plain crazy, or untill you crack up laughing. It's one way to biuld the tensil strength in your left hand. don't forgret scales. up and down Foreward and backward! Good luck, For just a start. KTF

WebMaster: I'm getting set up for the web cast today. 8/16/02 I'm hoping to get all the bugs out before the 'cast. Q-time 6 installed....just waiting for the Updates? Clarky: Paul, you would not be that impressed with my stuff. I'm having to relearn to sing after 10 years of not singing. College will help with that! So much for my range. Guitar is coming along, but I have to work on my drumming. I'll get a site yet and post all my goofy music. Some times I'll make you laugh( and you are supposed to!!!) More spoofs on the way. Enjoy the web cast T2Jers! Joe: Your such a creative Guy!!!!KTF

Sorry Clarky: i've had a hard time of it as of late. April I almost died from a viral infection: it still affects me:and I got a lousy review from freinds I used to play with. I don't mean to be down. I'll work on it harder and try to post some selected songs from Steven and myself once I get the help or $ to do so. Maybe then I can get an objective review. Thanks for lifting my spirits. i hope that you will see that my Northwest freinds did not "Get it" when I sent them my latest cd. I am learning all the time. I am first and foremost a 'student ' of the instrument even though Steven thinks of me as a teacher. My only regret: I wish I could perform live with Steven. solution: we will do just that. We recently acquired two GK 250's! They are sweet! I can run mine into my 4-12 cab(clestions-of course) and I made a custom 4-10 for Steven. He has not had the benefit of playing for the public.....I have in bands for the northwest. in everet Washington with "Pedestrian Polo" filling in for a guitarist that had commited suicide. My long time friend Frank, and his wife needed to have some one fill in to finish their gig schedule. We did a version of "Aint miss behavin ' " where we did "Rubber Ducky" as a middle 8. It's basically the same Chords! I'll keep a positive head on my shoulders now. Hope to post the tunes soon, for better or......The whole I dea is to have FUN! KTF.

Nick: I'm using the afore mentioned GK 250, with a Zoom GFX 707 as a pre, and I play my Bob Weir pro. That's all I need. Just get used to turning your amp up.(No one like a shy guitarist) Okay they do, but turn up anyway. My set-up, no noize! Experiment with different equipment to find the best for yourself, and your style. The more sounds, the better. I'm sure Joe would even say that! Stay Cool. Thanks again Paul. I'll fly right from now on. Joe: thanks to you for being a great teacher! You teach us all by just playing your best! KTF

Thanks Clarky: i've always known that, and yes music has enriched my life. I only hope I can get you a copy, or post this music for those who may enjoy it also...... Teaching the disabled has really imporved my playing. I have to find a way for people with concentration problems, and siesures. Despite all of that he finds a way to extract the emotion from his instrument. years ago we were in a local music store listening to a guy play Joe. he had all the notes and the phrazes, just no emotion....he did not own the song. This gave me the willies!!!! I complimented him on the work he had done and gave suggestions on being more 'loose' with it My student noticed that and once he paid attention to the drums, he improved exponentially! For most, paying attention to up and down strokes is critical. I've mentioned other trick/tips here in the past. One is doing trem tricks on a stop tail piece axe. yes it's possible, with the most radical trem stuff just suggested on a stop tail. Steven and i are concentrating on getting originals together, finding a drummer, bass, even though we do all that ourselves on our recordings. KTF

Clarky: Actually the seisures are the worst part, you have to "start over" But with Steven, he comes back in chunks. so'os I let him burn out on that.

Then onnce I got him to listen to the drums, I got him inot question and answer...and all is well in Jam land.

I always have to remember to do things backward, so'os he does it forward. I tried not to limit him in showing him stuff....i let him find it. he wanted toburn. My message self distructed! He's working on rhythym and timing to the Nth degree now. + we play all the instruments on our recordings. any where I can send you a cd? Put your address in my email, please. KTF Randell

Joe: More and more I'm meeting people in music here in the bay area. School has some interesting possibilities......Drummers, bass players and more guitarist. Some in bands, some like me, doing it all by themselves. Clarky: teaching the disabled is fun because it great to see them accomplish stuff they have decided they can't do. Now they burn past me........I do wish I could read better. I'm working on that. Stay cool and lucky KTF

Master Yoda: put your site on bookmark. Clarky: Yes it is good, but better for the student. I'm not an acredited teacher. I still have issues with reading music. I perform well in most cases, and on good days. You have picked up much more that I since 74 when I picked up the guitar to teach myself. and it has remained that way untill last semester at school, when I took a classical guitar class from Richard Florez. I got a 'C'. Not bad for one of the "distortion brothers". That's what my friend Frank and I were called back then. WAY TOO LOUD! At least for parents, GO figure. I would give my eye teeth to play as effortly as you sound. Besides, my student(s) have shone me how to keep at it! I learn from them, even though they can't seem to figure out what or how. I teach them what they show me right back. Sorry to learn that Joe has had another one stolen!!! I have had one taken , too. Doubtfull if the sherriffs will ever find mine. I doubt they even looked. and the thief probably does not know how to play it very well, i have not seen any one playing it yet...... I just hope that they did not mess it up very bad. :( We all will keep an eye out for it Joe! Peace

Yoda Man: I was saying i have a book mark on my computer so'os I can get to your music site. You sound great. I will listen even more now that you are marked. I have many people from t2j on the bookmark. Still looking into getting my own site so'os I can post my stuff. This is a top priority in my career search class. Copyrights and web site the top-0-the list for me for months to come, or until I get the proper info. Joe: One day you and I will lament on guitars lost/found. I'm not sure what I would do if i saw someone playing my stolen axe!!!!!! It has probably changed hands many time by now. To bad, too, I still have the locks for the trem in my tool box! You can come pick up a guitar from me any time, for an extended loan. I know you have more, but if your of a mind.........KTF Paul: I've come up with a really good band concept.......now I need to have try outs. I'll work to that after school. Thanks for your help on t2j. it has been invaluable to me. Peace

PhatMan: Aren't the trem bars on your type of trem push in/out? If the mount is loose, take the appropreate tool to tighten it from the bottom. if it is stripped: you've been playing it that way for a while! Try plumbers tape on it first, after un mounting it and then re-install. Goog luck. Super glue won't work: especially with your trem style!!! Also check the two plastic/nylon shims on the bar/arm. They may be worn beyond repair. Your local store should have some, or you could look into a custom shop.........Joe: good luck finding Pearly: my hope is that you do find it. Mindstorm & Mountain song are the best! Peace.

Joe :You have an un-official 'Pearly' watch from many satch fans here. Maybe it is time to put "pearly's" in a few more of the Chrome's. I can help with that if your guitar guy will let me help. I'll have to wear a mask & gloves so'os I don't get to much Sodder in my system. I have a couple of super 58's left and even a D'Marzio super distortion in cream. It's not that you can, it's that it is humiliating. Wait till someone finds the theif! Welcome back Plum Loco. Now look what's happened. Glad to see that Joe is taking this as good as he is. Time for me to put my band together, and get across to the school that I'm going to make this a job. Joe: you've been so pateint, with the fans, with the site, and the promotion, as well as the band. I hope you can put out a full out Steve kinda album (In a Joe kinda way) next just to make up for all you've done for us. I want to see your creativity take the forefront (even more so than this album) and show us what fun you can really have. The new songs are so happy. That's what I live for. As always these are just suggestions and observations. Best of: things will get better! KTF

Hey Joe: I had a really cruddy day today. If I did not have your album to listen to to take the edge off............. On to tomorrow. With all the guitars that I know that have been stolen from you and I and steve...ect. there should be a couple of bands well equiped! What ever happend to music stores? That's where the rest of us get ours, unles your Brian May, Who made his with his dad. I've attempted to make a few over the years, but my luthier skills aren't top notch yet. Hummm.....theres and idea for work! School is tight lipped about copyright info.....I don't know why. Traveling in sept, and I hope that things stay calm enough for a quick family get together. Treating my Mom for her B-Day that month. Lord knows our family has already been shot at during 9/11 last year!!!! In memory of Dennis Mulligan Ladder company 2 NYC. RIP. Save a seat at the table, Dennis. He could be a distant cousin. My Father is looking into that. We did not know that there were family in NYC till....... I start singing again tomorrow, in Itallian! I wanted to get my voice back in shape after 10 years...so I jumped in the deep end with a voice class. I'm like you....I would not like to torture my audience......but taking a tip from Marcus Martin:Guitarist, "Ladies and gentlemen, I've suffered Long and Hard for my music.....and now it's YOUR turn!." Once I pay all my tickets and bills, I'll look for tickets to one of your shows. Stay Cool.

My Girlfriend Carol got me a Hubble calender! Expect the photo's to appear on my cd's . As for the sound coming from your fingers..... absoultly correct ! + from your palm! Just for those who make use of plam mute, and there are quite a few. Two hands, two sets of fingers to get sound outa. We've already covered what the different substances picks are made of, but all in all, you don't want to have to much noise coming from a pick, unless needed. The chat got very blue in speak for a while the 30th. To many truckers? They talked like it anyway. Matt: I have some new stuff recorded. Have you gotten any more done on the web site. I'll check again tomorrow. Peace KTF
