One day it would be cool to upload pictures to your site, so'os guitar players and the like, could send photos to you! The voice class was fun, we sang 'row your boat' as a first song....to let the students get over the nerves. I guess the fans werent use to DT at the concert. Let it all sink in, DT will grow on you.......Pete: I had a hard time with your iuma site....probably my comp thou. I'll try again later. More people are hearing my stuff. The new teacher at school is a drummer.....KTF

Wes7777.....I have a similar problem. try not to use hand lotion, and don't use elixer strings......I have a hard time with phospher bronze strings, they turn every thing black! And it stains my clothes! I stick with D'Addario's, but that is just me. I had tried maxima stings and found them to be predead. My sweat killed them putting them on. I even tried elixer strings and cut the wrapping off of them in a heartbeat!!! My pick attack was to radical for them. Alot of acoustic players use them successfuly and they seem to come on Taylor guitars. There is not much you can do about the acidity of your hands, except get used to changing strings alot. My student/friend trashes strings just with his radical trem style! He hammers on the D, and G strings until they are flat near the 7th and 8th order harmonics. I don't mind....he pays me to change them. Glad to hear some fans getting to talk directly with Joe! Musta been great fro every one, including Joe! Joe: ever have a trem shift off it's mounts while playing?..........KTF

Jaws: it was good to hear that your adjustment problems on your JS guitar went well. Realy good to talk to you in the chat. T2Jers: if you can't open the chat, try closing out of your browser, and just use net scape, or nut scrape, what ever. it will load like a champ after that. be sure to use the last message before you log of...or U will start back at the beginning...... I had to do an autobio for my job search class. All the old bands I started......No one famous here. Remember...guitarist go through more G strings.....just dont get your (others) hair in the tuners and U will be okay. Peace

Michelle: Cats have a way of staying with you: Flint, our cat still jumps up on the bed in the morning even though he passed several years ago! Do you watch animal planet? You may find some solice there.......Js1: you'll love the classical stuff if you stay in that classical vien. it will help your reading and your chord recognition. Keep in mind the techniques you use on the electric may annoy the classical player mentality, but don't abandon it. it should serve you well in all. best of luck with that. itook clasical guitar and got a "C" from Richard Flores. A judicious grade concidering I had a hard time reading. +being sick at the end of the semester did not help. Joe, your the best! KTF

JOE: for my assignment I wrote a article about You. Here is some of it: "With sonic precision, fingers manipulating strings on metal frets, bending into a emotional legato along the sweet taste of rosewood, a light touch actuating a seventh order harmonic note, sings its way from the melodic frequencies, diveboming his bridge to unbelieveable depths amid the sullen spotlights, pownding rhythym, and solid grinding bass, high and happily into the awaiting cheering crowd. Such prose can only belong to the adeptness and speed of America's premier music icon, the master himself, Joe Satriani." Think I'll get a good mark? The assignment was to use discriptive verbage. Hope you like the initial paragraph. It's easy when you are the subject. Hey Nick Lee, I finally opened up your posted Photo's. Looks like a great time, you and your Mom! I liked conversing with you in the chat, even thought you were rather stoic. Try to use more that one word answers, okay. Be cool, Thanks Joe! KTF

Thanks to Jeff for the help with my home work! Soory to see such a large storm down south! Hope U R all okay. Master yoda: Most of us are envious that u at least can post your music! The rest of us being non-tech-oids have trouble with that stuff. NOT enough understanding of the tech, and /or not enough $ to complete the process. Like clarky said, maybe they are to busy listening!! One good thing...no one will be stealing your ideas..........You have a great sound. Keep with it. I know you will despite any thing I say. Try to remember not all people will love every thing you do every time. Joe has been hot with that of late, and look how long he has been at it!!!!. Bless you.

The security thing is if-y. Good luck. I would like to help with the guitar stuff ,too. You can gaurd them, i'll put on strings and tune them for you........Paul, most may have trouble with the logic/math thing. the emoptional content should suffice for most in explanation. Theory is great/ and integral but not all inclusive. I know you know that, I'm just being clear. There are a fist full of names for things in tab that I have not even heard of yet, and do on the guitar. It would be wierd to see my playing in tab. How do you write that you push the trem arm from the back this time and pulll up this time this way etc. Kinda daunting. But for perfectionist like us.......we will keep trying and sucseeding(sp). Matt: good to talk to you in chat!!! How do I get more songs to you? (I still have your address) Now i'm just waiting on some $ to send it. Steven has done well paying attention to the drums, and we have been solo taping songs. let me clarify that, when we record, if i start a song, I finish doing all the parts.visa/versa for steven so'os we know just who did what. Now we have a good balance of us and each other.......confusing? Maybe i'll get it straight for you in chat one night. Love a Cd of C.O.E.!!!! Joe's new one is first and foremost right now. I was listening to his album while traveling to/from Seattle recently by air. That was memorable.......peace all

Matt:!!!I forgot, any word on me doing guitars(Tech) for you? I also have an outstanding idea for a concert that I cannot explain here.(Hush Hush) would you like some vocals for your songs? any in the works? I know that you don't need them, your guitar does the singing. I guess that's what the well listened fan likes about us guitar players. Joe:I really like "what a heart breaks" as a tribute to 9/11 and a follow up of AWM/AWY. Once I get my article back from my english teacher, I'll send it here for your approval!!!. Thanx, Iambic ........awy.....no....awm....wait........I always get that backwards!!!!!! It's amazing I remember my own songs. I amazed my friend Steven yesterday by playing bass on RJDV fairly well. he did not know I work out on that song. (Ha Ha). That's okay, he's way ahead of me on the Vai stuff. Joe Good luck with what ever band plays the pre-party for the bone bash. Wish I had my band together enough to qualify. Studio stuff for me, for now. I'll keep working on it. School come first. Thanks again Joe for paying attention to our many suggestions and the like. You are great to even try any of them and I hope you had a blast playing with all those other guitarists. I know we all are! Peace ,Iambic

NJBeast: You may have mis-matched the impeadence of your amp and speakers. If your speakers are 16ohm and the amp is set at a higher ohmage, like 8ohm, for example, you will have the cutting out stuff you mentioned. Match those ohmages and you should be okay. I'm getting set to post my article from my english class that I had help from. Jeff (from this site)helped with my spelling and parralell construction issues. Thanks again sinnetor! Look for that tonight, for a start. It's not to long, and hopefully, not too boring. Peace

Joe: What follows is excerpts from a article I wote for a english class on You. # With sonic precision, fingers manipulating strings on metal frets, bending into a emotional legato along the sweet taste of rosewood, using a light touch actuating a seventh order harmonic note that soars into the upper stratosphere, sings its way from the melodic frequencies, dive-bombing his tremolo bridge to unbelievable depths amid the sullen spotlights, with a heart pounding rhythm, and a solid grinding bass blasting high and happily into the awaiting cheering crowd. Such prose can only belong to the adeptness and speed of America's premier music icon, the metal master himself, Joe Satriani. With his latest album, Strange Beautiful Music, we find the guitarist of the Berkeley Square days newest release a pleasure and a treat to listen to and experience. The master guitarist signature tremolo guitar wails are a top staple of all who study the instrument, listen to rock music, and all who enjoy the melodic legato style of solo guitar. This alone should identify Joe Satriani as the creative rock symbol he has become over the years. If you don't know who Joe is yet, you are not alone, it takes a well listened pallet and instrumentalist perfectionism to understand his playing. Keep in mind he is still very famous in the rock field and still he has people being won over by his web site and his musical rememberability. If you need vocals to find a song rememberable, Joe has several favorites you might like from the"'Flying in a Blue Dream" album. "The Phone Call", where Joe actually sings into a phone, gives this teasing break-up style song a comedic twist, Joe blazing his guitar over the phone for a scorching solo interupted briefly to ask, "Are you still there?" Even "Strange", a song from the same album, puts a irreverent appeal to his vocals. Joe's influence even reaches to the internet with his site boasting of an estimate able 37160 members. All these members can't be wrong in asserting Joe a Master. Recently at the load out of the Atlanta concert, he had his favorite guitar stolen! His signature Ibanez "Chrome boy" electric with a special designed Seymore duncan pick-up named "Pearly Gates." Not a new thing for Joe, having equipment stolen, and unusual names for his pick-ups. Special pick-ups (specialized microphones used to amplify his guitar strings through an amplifier) have been made for him, which he named affectionatly, "Fred." Even as we speak, there are members on the web watching auction sites to see if the theif will mess up and put it out for sale. .............Joe more to come.....I did not mean to stop here......I just wanted to break it up a bit. Thanks if you comment on my comments.......????? KTF Iambic ps.Jeff (sinnetor) helped me with the first line...Thanks again Jeff Oh....I got an A+

Thanx to freddyg , xcrystalplanetx, and satch3d for their responses! I'm not done ...yet.....Joe's inception to guitar great roughly started with "Not of this Earth" where his prowess first got him noticed in the general public nationally for his "Alien" improvisations. Now after many years, as some may tout, a "guitar God," Joe's students and friends have proved themselves guitar greats as well, with Steve Vai and Kirk Hammett in the lead of the charge in rock. Recently, in an interview in the pop music section of the local bay area papers, Joe was quoted as lamenting the sonic precision of the band "No Doubt's" song "Hella Good", saying that, "They're in the wrong key, and that bugs me." This quote from the San Francisco Chronical, may have sparked a lot of criticism. Joe can only be true to himself and his music. His comments weren't to discourage the artist or their fans, but ro remain true to a deeper sonic truth. Many of the guitars he owns - more than 100 chrome boys alone - have other special artists colors and artwork on them. Even his family has influenced the art work on his "Axe's" as the venacular is stated, from his wife Rubina down to his two childeren, with his young son marking in pencil with his dad on one special black edition signature guitar. Joe has garnered my attention when I heard about him even in my home town in Washington state, clear back to when he started the "Squares", one of his first bands here in the bay area. Founding G3, a concert that usually includes Joe's old student Steve Vai and a guest guitarist of renowned in the public eye. Eric Johnson was first to tour with them, a guitarist who emulates the late Jimi Hendricks, a early influence on Joe. Joe's latest album has Pia Vai, Steve Vai's wife playing harp on a song, and Robert Fripp joining him for some guitar tracks. You can tell Joe has an influence on Steve Vai, and Vai, Joe, as the songs on Joe's new album have a familiar ring to them. They are welcome continuations seeming to come from one of Steve's albums, "Passions and Warfare", on several tracks from the "Strange Beautiful Music' cd. Joe's original doublehanded tapping technique, rich in harmonics, with a special smoothness despite blazing fast staccato runs, and vigorous tremolo style, make him the man-"Alien?"-to watch for in the next millennium. Songs like "Mindstorm", show just how inventive Joe can be, with this song being a hands on favorite on the web site. Many times on the web site he has asked our oppinion of specifics for the album, from the style most favored by the fans, down to suggestions for guitarist to play G3 concerts with. Nearly all the guitarist mentioned from fans on the web site came out to play with Joe and Steve, just dropping by for a few songs at several of the concert venues during the tour. You can find Joe Satriani's music at your local music store, Tower records, as an example, on his web site, and in favorite cd player everywhere. His attention to fine detail, melody, harmony, Angelic melodic wails, and even a since of humor enlace his songs. I even happend to get some help with the opening of this article from a "Satch family" friend, Jeff Shirkey on September fourth, 2002, from the web site. Joe has been previously released on "Relativity Records" and is curently with "Sony" on the "Epic" record lable. Truly Joe Satriani can fully be admired as, "Guitar Master!"..............Hope that was not too long. KTF iambic

Linda & Harry Brett. best of luck with getting produced. have you looked into buying your own cd recorder and producing yourselves.? it would be worth looking into, as well as the government copyright site. I would love to here your guitar work, as well as many here. We have uncovered so many great players out there. If your are able to stand the tough touring life(some of us can't) you should be right up there with the top people. Do you have a full band ready at your disposal? if you do, there are planty of opportunities with starting your own show. Look to fairs and functions to play for, if you don't like the club scene. Find a catchy name and stage show idea to get it started, and your off. Joe: I have been trying to print out bio's for steven and I, and have problems with my limited software. I did manage to get the pictures from the Hubble on a few cd lables, and they are awsome.!! Break a leg at the "Bone Bash." wish i could go, but I have school. Say high to maneketti for me. I used to go to his uncles music store(now closed) back in the day. Peace

Drummers are always trying to yuk it up. A drummer I worked with used to throw his expended sticks at me on stage!!! He had a knack of always finding me, even when i would "hide" around others on stage. he would cut the tips of his sticks while double hitting his cymbols. One day he hit my guitar............needless to say that stopped right then and there. Joe: get your sleep. Rest up for the "Bone Bash." I have a mid trem in my voice class today. I wish I was more ready than I am. I'm up at 6:00 am to practice. I'm beginnig to have issues with Italian. It's hard to remember the pronounciations! SBM on in the background while I type. Looks like I did not make the curve for my pell grant. Now I'll have to find my own job my way. The state has been a lot of help, but they can do no more for me. Need a guitar guy as an extra? Maybe I can get in at the pavilion, with my previous stage work experience. I was pretty good at lighting, until they went computer driven. Peace. KTF

Clarky: I had planned on sending you a cd of mine, but my malidies and problems persist in the $ department. Christmas will be better. I'm still looking for local part-time work. Happy belated B-day. If I survive school, and get work, I'll find a way to post some tunes for you to review or just listen to for fun. I want to tell all who have sites posting links here, you guys(and gals) are famous to me!. It's hard enough with help to get a career going, as doing it all yourself. Try to remember it's not how good you are compaired to others, but how you personally progress. I have heard a lot of really great ideas and performances out there, so'os don't take yourselves lightly. most of the rest of the world is clueless as how to accomplish even that much. Joe: get the rest you needed? I have experience with that "lag" stuff too. You'll be back in the running and out there soon enough. Don't forget to eat healthy, and hug the family a few times also. Got to see your real player video/practice stuff. What's with galen being so quiet? Don't you guys let him speak? (Just kidding) Matt: we still need to figure out how to get a "plays like satch" concert going with the friends from t2j playing all in one place some how. Daunting task, considering all the countries everyone is from. maybe try to put it together in Austrailia just for fun. Peace, KTF

As for the having one riff, I ran into that once while taping a song I started on bass. I took the riff, expanded it on the guitar....and it came out sounding repitious. These things happen, and once I tape it again, I'll avoid that as a staple. Happy Birthday and posts to all T2Jers. Joe; any words on the bone concert? You can catch "Sammy" at Justin Herman today at a free concert in the bay area.!!!! Wish I was not in class. Your still the best Joe. KTF
