Joe: Neat new site look! Great new music! I'm kinda dorky with computers, so'os I could only download "Starry Night". Looking forward to your new album release! A definate 'Must have' for all Satch fans. Jennifer Batten for the next G3! Web Master: The Jam with joe thing, and the guitar teaching site ideas may be a bit much....WE do want Joe to tour! There are plenty of Satch fans to contribute...and then Joe can sign on and give advice when he's not on the road. That way joe won't end up with 6 jobs. You guys are the BEST! KTF Randell M

Phil Collins (Def Leppard) plays with no shirt, Because of sweating, I guess. On to the new songs...........Thanks again Joe:!!!!!KTF Randell

I would hate to think this could be a drag for you. Looking forward to the 'Listening party'. I'll do my best to be there, when I'm not looking for work. Hey Joe! Awsome album! I really like 'Starry Night ' alot, the more I listen to it. Steven is better now and we have a chance to start a band with some fellows from a local church. We've recorded so much stuff lately that we are having a hard time catching up on ourselves! We're not to good at practicing our own stuff. Got to hear/see Pete Escovito(sp) and sheila E. at the Pleasonton fair. Great stuff. Love that drumming! I hope you get a minute to post, alot of fans are grouse.(so what) Wish I'd gotten work this summer so'os I could aford tix to the Pavillion show. Break a leg. KTF Randell

Joe:! I finally got Q-time loaded right....and listend to some of the G3 I've missed! No more computer dork for me. I just finnished making cd covers and inserts for my fellow guitarist Steven Wilde. He does not look to good streched out...the program did it on it's own. I think he will like his picture on the cd, though. I'm glad to see you out and about, with no more postponements. Is there a way to send you a cd? I'm at leox9@hotmail.com Be patient, it's not the best link. Matt? How are you? Send me a note, please. Thanks Joe, I can think of no one else that would be so generous....KTF Randell

xcrystal planetx: Joe uses D'Addario EXL100's which are 10-42. A 009 is just alittle small for a trem to stay in ballance. A little to whippy too. I've tried custom sets like that and have always returned to the stock set. I use the same set size and have never had a bad set to date since the 70's! ( A little shameless plug for D'Addario!) Joe: Get some rest, and come back strong once you get back. Your awsome! No one can do it like you do. Guitar for ever! KTF Randell Matt: You deserve it...your a great player. Hope to jam with you some day. We can get that GWhizz concert going. (Check previous posts!)

xcrystal planetx: Yes, I am not all knowing. I was trying to give only what I know from experience, for me. Others have succsesfully used custom sets of strings/springs, just as 'Clarky' has reminded me. Good! My hands are just too strong now for (Me) to play that type of guage. I started on a 008 set when I was younger and still building tensil strenght in my left hand. Please feel free to use what you like for whatever reasons you feel to use. Creativity is everything. I'm 44 this year August. I still think of my self as a "student" of the guitar, even though I teach privately disabled guitar student(s). Sometimes if the rules don't apply, cheat! If it works, all the better. There is no wrong way to play. Just inapproperate. Best of to all in satch land. Joe: Great songs! Wonderful to hear you are having so much enjoyment playing this tour! Btw Clarky: Thanks. i love the disscusion! It's good to hear from alot of experience from alot of satch-ites. Be cool. KTF Randell

I have really grown accustomed to the HZ emg pickups! They are amazing! Joe: Slick is really good, can't wait to hear the rest of it...This album will be one of your best ever. KTF Randell

Well: I got a negative review from my northwest friends. They seemed to not like the power drumming Steven and I put on the latest recording.....I can survive a bad review...hopfully not my last...reviiew I mean. Joe: The more I listen to Mindstorm, the more I like that cut. Eight steps is great, but I'll wait to hear the whole thing. Thanks for putting them on your site. At least I can hear the sound bytes this way, now that I have Q-time loaded right! Matt: What was the name of that song you posted the link to here? KTF

Narface: I use stainless steel picks. The "Chirp" a bit, and wear out strings even worse. I use fender "abalone" picks now. heavys. I tried the whippy picks for a while...ended up with better pinch harmonics with the heavy picks. Back in 1980 I went to a Triumph concert. I tossed a stainless steel pick up on stage just before their "Blinding light show" Number. When the brought down the lights(physically) to the stage floor, Mike Lavin saw the pick glareing up at him. To My supprise, he picked it up and played his (Bass) solo with it.!!!!!!! I had made a necklace for Ric Emmett, and had a girl Place it on the stage so'os Ric could find it. Erlyer, some one had trown a beer bottle at the Backup band and seriously hurt the guitarist. I made sure that the band was at the far sides of the stage before I had it chucked up on stage. Ric May still have that necklace......Please, don't try this at home...or a concert now! Have you tried rock picks. made of several different minerals. Back in the 70's The Burns brothers used bread clips for picks...in a pinch. Joe: I glad the fans are being more positve here on the site...I was worried for a while. GB KTF

Back on to the subject of picks. I used Jim Dunlop Tortex picks for 12 years or more. Tri-picks, that way they could roll around in my hand and I could still get to a sharp edge to do harmonics. 1.0 mm were my constant companions, as well as the .77mm. I use the Abalone picks now. They have little alien faces. They look for harmonics for me while I play. Some have eyes on each side, some with both eyes on 1 side. Can't stand "super bullets", the strings. My playing style is to agrressive for that. D'Addario xl110's!!! They are the best!!! I've tried all the "coated" strings made, and they are usless for me. My sweat just eats them up. Joe: I signed up for the give-a-way contest! Satch fans sign up. KTF

Joe: I'm exstatic you could jam with those Purple guys! Wish we could have all been there. Record that stuff!!!??? Narface. I think the felt picks are for dulcimers(sp) , but I'm not sure. Seems to be a fuzzy dice kind of pick. I just remembered that there is an acoustic guitar in the Smithsonion, a solid granite, comes with stand...WAY to heavy to wear!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed on the guitar contest. Matt: What was the name of that song you posted here. I can't seem to find it now. Thanx KTF

Joe : Now I listen to most of your albums side for side. Just two exceptions on two albums. Sometimes I skip over Trumalum...and usually Sleepwalk. love that stuff, but not always each time. Still hve my fingers crossed on the guitar givaway. If I ever get to go to see you live, I'll plan to log on to meet you back stage. Take pictures, get monikers etc. Clarky has got a great sound. Love to hear him and Mister Mindstorm himself. From Austrailia. Just a suggestion. Break a leg the 11th. GB KTF

JSC1: Important!! Put the zero return spring assembly back in the custom routed section of the trem. The other two go at an angle, out from the "Claw" wide to the trem. I hope that helps. Congrats on your choice of a "S" body. Frank Gambale says they are the most comfortable! Try not to change the trems so fast (Only a suggestion) ! Sometimes that's what makes them special, because the guitars they are in have different capabilities. Joe: Have fun with the guitar giveaway! Break a leg ! KTF Paul: Awsome chops on your music! You make me want to try harder.
