Hello Everyone, Just wanted to make my first post on the new site. I can't wait till I see Joe live! I'm seeing the show twice. Ruth Eckered Hall and House of Blues Orlando. I saw G3 twice last year and thought it was awsome. I just figure why see the show once when you can see it twice :-). Peace.

Hey everyone, I was watching "The Screen Savers" on Tech TV and they said that they had Satch on yesterday. I was wondering if anyone caught that episode. Hopefully they'll re-run the episode.

Joe, I will see you at Ruth Eckerd Hall on August 21st. I can't wait.

ovation1: On Sleep Walk, Robert Fripp is playing the really cool ambient sounding guitar in the backround. I would like to find out more about him but I can't seem to find anything on the net. Joe is playing lead of coarse. He talks about the song a little in this month's Guitar World. Theres also a poster of Joe in the issue as well. Later, Mike

Hey everyone, Thanx for the info in Fripp. I'm so fascinated about the sounds he gets (especially on Sleep Walk). From what I've read it seems hes doing all these cool sounds in real time and not via a Pro Tools plug-in or something after the guitar track is recorded. What kind of effects does he use to get those great sounds on Sleep Walk? Later, Mike

I absolutely fell in love with EOC! It's definately one of my favorites! It is pure inovation. Other guitarists have tried the electronic thing by simply putting standard riffs to an electronic beat and calling it Techno but Joe actually created a entire new style. You wont be able to find a record like EOC anywhere. If you really think about it... there isn't really that much synth on the album. Joe was able to get such great sounds out of his guitar (via effects and Pro Tools) without a guitar synth. The album is a TRUE hybrid of instrumental rock and techno. No other artist was able to accomplish that. Myself being a lover of rock and techno absolutely went bonkers when I heard the album.

It seemed to me that EOC created a new fan base for Joe. I noticed people that aren't guitarists, aren't into instrumental rock, that in some cases haven't heard of joe really liking the album and buying it. Unfortunately there were many hard core Satch fans who didn't like the album becuase they simply wont accept anything that isn't pure rock to them. This discourages me greatly because EOC may be a side a Joe we'll never here from again.

Joe, I would love to hear more from the EOC side of you. To me that is some of the most inovative head turning music you have ever created.

Later, Mike

Webmaster and all, if anyone who uses ZONE ALARM and is having trouble with the webcast... Disable Zone Alarm and try the web cast again. I did this and was able to get the webast to work. For the some reason Zone Alarm and Quick Time 6 don't like each other very much. When you are done watching the webcast you can enable Zone Alarm again. I hope this helps my fellow fans. Later. Mike

Dear Joe...
I WENT TO THE CONCERT AT RUTH ECKERD AND WAS EXTREMELY SHOCKED TO HEAR ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED!
I am very angry over the entire situation. I am so sorry that guitar was stolen. You once described your guitar as almost another part of your body when your playing so we all know how much that guitar means to you. I really hope that guitar is recovered.
I AM UNBELEIVEABLY ASHAMED OF MY COMMUNITY OVER WHAT HAS HAPPEND.
Joe, you are my favorite guitarist and my favoirte musican. Your music has inspired me to bring music into my life which has made me a better person and for that I am eternally greatful. It saddens me and angers me that one of your main treasures was taken from you in my own home town. I am very ashmed of my area right now. Of all the places in the world... Clearwater, FL. That really shows how messed up people are. What I fear now is that this event will give you a bad impression of my home and possibly cause you not to play here anymore.
I enjoy your shows so much that I always see them twice. Tonight (8/23) I am seeing your House of Blues show in Orlando. I was lucky enough to win aftershow passes. You can't even imagine how excited I am. It's beyhond amazing. I look foward to meeting and talking with you after the show.
TO ALL FELLOW SATCH FANS.... WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?
To all fellow Satriani fans.... I live in Clearwater, FL where the guitar was stolen. Does anyone have any REALISTIC suggestions as to what I can do to possibly help Joe recover his guitar. Anyone... feel free to e-mail me as well.
I want Joe to get his guitar back. Joe is my Idol and his music has made my life a better one and by knowing he got back one of his most precious tools for his incredibly inspiring music... that would be satisfying enough for me.
Joe is a class act. I have never seen anyone so generous and kind to his fans. To see somone take advantage of his kindness is sickening to me. Joe... I hope with all my heart you get Pearly back.

Joe, see you after the show tonight. Later everyone, Mike

Friday night I went to Orlando to see Joe Satriani at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney. It's nearly a two hour drive from my area in Tampa Bay but the House of Blues is my favorite venue period. Also we go to DisneyQuest before the show witch is literally right next to House of Blues and play video games all day. No one can beat me at Daytona eccept this older guy who's been playing for years.
JOE, WHEN YOU COME TO ORLANDO AGAIN PLEASE COME TO DISNEYQUEST BEFORE THE SHOW SO I CAN PLAY YOU IN DAYTONA USE :-)
I went to House of Blues expecting the same old same old. Not to say that isn't awesome, it is. But I have seen Satch six times before and he was pretty much the same with pretty much the same songs. Boy, was I proven wrong. It was the best Satch show I have ever seen. Also the best mixed show I've ever seen with the best sounding PA. Joe's mixer had a digital console which looked like a DigiDesign but it was something different. He had the console hooked up to the PA at House and Blues and it sounded out of this world. It was all controled by software with plugins and all kinds of stuff. I stood behind the console during the show and was able to watch him (the mixer) mix the show... it was bad ass.
Satch's new rig sounded amazing. He was running into two Peavey JSX half-stacks. It sounds amazing. His new tone sounds even better than his older tone which is saying a lot. The day after the show my friend who works at Sam Ash called me to let me know they just got a JSX head in the store. I went down there to give it a test and it was one of the best amps I have ever played. "Fat" switches on both the two drive channels, presence and resonance and a built-in noise gate. The only thing I didn't like about it was the lack a gain knob on the clean channel (it only had volume). The amp head is $1200 and it sounded much better than amps that are more expensive.
JOE IS GOING TO SELL PEAVEY A LOT OF AMPS.
I liked the amp almost as much as my Tremoverb combo and if I wasn't able to get my Recto combo so cheap ($975) I would have gotten a JSX half stack. You guys should try this amp out. Be amazed.
Back to the show...
Joe Satriani is my favorite musician and favorite guitarist and this show completely blew me away and caught me off gaurd. I should have seen the show twice. It was "an evening with" concert which I haven't seen since 2000. It reminded me why listening to Satch's music for the first time made me want to be a musician. It was a set list for true hardcore Satch fans. He played most of the songs off his new album which he has never played live before and a ton of songs from older albums that he has either not played live ever or hasn't played in a long time. Songs like Lords of Karma, Motorcycle Driver and Physcho Monkey and this is only naming a few. This made the concert so fresh. The audience was in heaven. Satch's energy level was higher than I've ever seen on stage. He looked like he was really having a blast on stage. This might have been due to the fact it was only the third show of the tour but I doubt it. Also Satriani was improvising all over the place; a lot more than usual. I love to hear Satch improvise so this made the concert even that much more amazing for me. The concert was so captivating that it seemed to just fly by. I didn't realize how many songs he actually played and how long the show actually was until the day after the show; time flys. After the show people were yelling out loud "Oh my god! That was fucking amazing" Everyone who likes Satch should see a show from this tour. I have met Satch twice before but would have loved to have met him after this show.
