Just got my G3 tickets! A bit Disappointed in how far back I am, I shouldve picked up tickets yesterday.

anyone else going to the Phoenix show?

Car talk on satriani.com ? I like it :) The enzo is quick, but the bugatti is pretty much untouchable, 1000+hp? I think the enzo only has 660hp. If I could have anything, I'd go with a TVR tuscan, an Aston Martin Vanquish, a 360 Modena, and for good measure a Pagani Zonda :D.

But in all reality I'd be stoked to own a Z06.

This day can't get fast enough for me either! 3 and a half hours and counting!!! wooo yeahhhh!

I hope Vai's new DVD will be available at the G3 show, they say it won't be ready yet, but maybe JUST maybe!

British Comedy, The Goodies are my favorite. I grew up watching them.

Wales WIN the rugby world cup? :) Not likely! You know it's going to be between the 3 heavy weights, Aussies, All Blacks or the Springbox[sp?]. My bias opinion is the Wallabies all the way! hehe. They are actually playing a few matches at my home town, Wollongong [hour south of Sydney]. To bad I live in the US now.

BUT G3 IS PLAYING TONIGHT!!!!!! WOOOHOOO!

haha right on BIGTOE! How'd you score front row tickets? I bought my tickets the day after the release date and only ended up with like row 21 center!! A little dissapointed to say the least! But last G3 show I got backstage passes so I shouldn't complain! hehe, I still MAY get some backstage passes this year too, my buddy is a manager at Guitar Center and gave me his last year. I know he is going this year, dunno if he has backstage yet though

I meant to do exactly that BIGTOE, but I totally forgot about the release date!!! sucks. Yep my wife is coming, she loves Vai.

I just found out my guitar center buddy AND his girlfriend have backstage passes :( my wife thinks they won't give them up, but I think MAYBE they will, I can only hope..and bring my digital camera this time hehe.

BIGTOE, a cooking show? Is that on free -to-air TV? Interesting! Don't be up too late, the show will probably finish 11ish?

[edit] I seen Joe and Dreamtheater at the Dodge theater, it's an awesome venue, sound is great and so is the seating.

pick pocket hmmm that's a possibility BIGTOE!hehe nah he's a cool guy, he was gracious enough to give me his backstage pass last show, I won't hold it against him if he doesn't give me one this year. Just his gf! JUST KIDDING! hehe

Anyways, I am gonna take off, get ready for the show and get there nice and early. If you see a big guy with long blonde hair in a pony tail, wearing an 'alien love secrets' t-shirt, speaking with an Aussie accent, say hello BIGTOE..my name is Nick! enjoy the show, I know I will!!!! I'M PUMPED!!

MegaBoyde-

I totally agree, guitarevolution was great! I wasn't into Marty's songs much, but he playing was brilliant.

Chris Polland woah! awesome, I met the band after the show they were VERY cool. I spoke to Kofi Baker for a good while, he being british I an aussie seemed to get along well. Ginger Bakers son? how cool is that! I never knew he played with Brett Garsed on Tappestry!

Alex was very cool, the whole show was great.

AMAZING! what a show. Yngwie is a crazy man on stage, never seen him live, but I was impressed. Didn't play with his band much though!

Steve was incredible, as usual, one of the best shows I've seen him play. His opening piece, seemed to be improv, but it was perfect. 4 way guitar orrgy? :) THAT was cool.

Joe's sound was SO great, so clear, so much air, so much TONE! How long has he been playing Peavy? I am out of the loop! Does he run the Peavys straight? Or does he just use the Peavys for clean? Sounded GREAT either way.

The Jam was very funny! Yngwie took forever to come out, Joe started playing a blues riff, he dubbed it the waiting for Yngwie blues :) so Steve came out first. Jam songs, Joe 'Rockin in the free world' - Steve 'Little Wing' - Yngwie 'VooDoo Chile'. No enchore :(

I can't wait for the DVD. Wish I could follow them around the country. GREAT show! You guys are so lucky! I WANNA GO AGAIN!

Do The Stu -

Bummed? God don't be dude, it was an incredible show! Joe sounded brilliant, perfect, stupendous! His set was great too!

The Reaper was VERY cool :) I was really looking forward to that, and it was way better than expected.

BIGTOE - NO I didn't hear anything? What part of the show? My buddy from guitar center actually left after Vai [his wife had to work early] so he gave us his tickets, which were row 8 seat 3! So we were down the front for half the show. Also we never got there till like 6.50pm!! My wife takes forever to get ready, man I was PISSED. Never got backstage passes either :( my friend gave them to someone else this year, damnit!

But the show was brilliant!!! You didn't like Vai? He is my all time fave.

I thought the 3 were amazing! I thought the audience were great! Sure it would've been nice if Joe played some different material, but hell I would never complain after a show like that! some of you guys are crazy.

I'd love to know if Joe is just running those Peavys? Or if he is just using them for the clean tone and using something else for the dirty? His sound was superb!

BIGTOE- The only mess ups were with the jam really, everything else IMHO was just perfect! Oh BTW I told my wife about you and she said she remembers seeing you up front!

peter mulas- Can you post your website or some links to your songs? Did you play around Sydney much? I am originally from Wollongong, maybe I've seen you play! Do you know anyone from the Wollongong area?

BIGTOE- tis true! Women can be very observant! But I must say *slightly embarressed* I was expecting you to be a guy! hehe. It's very cool when girls are into instrumental guitar, there are too few of them!!

My wife absolutely LOVES Vai, but it was so funny, just about every song Joe played she would bump me and say THIS is my favorite song. Next song, no THIS is my favorite song. So on and so forth! She really loved Yngwies music too, she was blown away when I showed her some early pictures of Yngwie. He has changed so much!

peter mulas - Nice playing! Good to see some Aussie talent coming through! Which guitar store in Sydney do you go to? I was a pretty good friend of 'Charlie' [rip] at Guitar Crazy on Coogee Bay. But I must say, guitar stores over here in the US kick arse over any Aussie store I'd been too :)

Hey JOE! I know it's been a long while since you've toured Australia, however, do you prefer a 'general admission' gig [i.e Australia] or seated admission gig [i.e US] ?

I've seen you play 3 times in the US and 2 times in Australia. I think the atmosphere is so must greater at a general admission gig. I seen Vai 2 times in Australia too, the last time was the FireGarden tour, and it was insane!!! It was a huge mosh pit, that is SO much more fun than sitting.

Why don't they have general admission gigs in the US?

Thanks all for the explination on the general admission. I always ended up front for concerts back home. But I can understand why they don't like to do it much here.

Do The Stu- Joe played Crushing Day the first gig in Phoenix. And I read somewhere [vai site maybe?] that he played starry night recently.

Hey BIGTOE, whats up.

New video message huh! Looks like they've got the jam down much better now [I was at the first show].

Man I wish Joe played Midnight at the Phoenix gig :( does anyone know if he played it at the recording of the '03 G3 DVD? I hope it makes it on the DVD. Do you think they will put a few songs from each on the DVD? Or the whole show?

haha Yngwie reminds me of my old boss, he talks and moves [hand gestures] exactly like that, but my old boss is so far from a 'rocker'.

Thought I'd post this here :D Some guy got jacked by a car dealership, he won a bid on ebay and the dealership sold the car [trying to avoid the cheap sale evidently] Now this on every forum known to man [slight exaggeration] and people are calling the dealership, emailing them, calling the head mitsubishi dealership etc. Quite funny, I hope the dealership gets jacked.

Joe,

Great job on the new CD. "Searching" is my fave. Best wishes on all those tours this summer, you guys are going to be busy. I can't wait till you play Phoenix again.

Your new signature amp...were you playing straight through this amp on the last [Yngwie] G3 tour [just the Peavy with no mods]? Your sound was so great, the clarity was amazing I could hear every note perfectly. I will have to check it out at the store.

What "instrumental" guitarist do you listen to? I know you are a huge Hendrix fan, ZZ tops and even Deftones..very surprising [yet not!] But do you listen to any strictly "instrumental" type guitraists?

One more question. Is there any chance you'll do another stripped down album like your self titled? I am in love with the vibe of that CD, the drums are unbelievable, the production is so different...it reminds me of Extreme's album "waiting for the punch line" very similar striped down, creamy, dirty sound.

Anyway once again, the new CD is a beauty...take care mate.

rockarolla_70, yeah man that is a downer. Paul Hester was a funny bastard, crowded house is one of my favorite Aussie bands [I am an Aussie and I don't like too many Aussie bands!] condonences to his family friends, and band mates...poor Neil.

On a side note, see you Arizonan's on the 6th! Why do we always get the first show of every tour? Vai, Satch...always play Phoenix for the first date on their tour. Not complaining at all :) it's always a GREAT vibe.

Flashlight, do you use FireFox? If not, get it www.firefox.com you'll get zero spyware if you use this browser, it IS the best thing since sliced bread!

I've been using it for over a year, and had no spyware, very VERY few popups [maybe one or two, but they patch it quickly] it's so much better than IE.

Ad-aware is great for removal, as is "Spy Bot - Seek and destroy" you may also may want to install "Zone Alarm"'s firewall.
