Badazz, yep they were laughing towards malmsteen at the pittsburgh show too, but trust me, it was a "haha look at that demon shred" kinda laugh.. i felt same about yngwie got boring after 20 minutes, but what he does is at the top level for sure

The Prez, good pull off sound has nada to do with effect setup, if i had to guess cause i can't see you doing it, i would mess with your thumb position till you can get clean pull offs
can try that

The Prez a good practice would be to do pull offs with your thumb completely off of the neck and hanging off the bottom of the neck, try that

i've always pulled downward rather than slide sideward
that wouldn't allow me to have alot of speed ... weird
