Hey "joesux" maybe you should change your signin then? :)

For anyone who's interested, I've put scans of pretty much everything I got signed up on my site http://roo.emu.id.au. Follow the read about the day and see signed items here link.

I haven't had the photos developed, but when I do I'll put the choice ones on the site.

Actually, Tommy Emmanuel was the first person I mentioned as a G3 candidate to Jeff, Matt and Galen. I thought an Aussie guitarist would be a great choice and you have to think of Tommy first, he's unreal.

I think Tommy would be an awesome inclusion, I'm sure he'd be interested too.

jazzzzzzzy and michelle: I'd like to think he was happy to see me, but he is genuinely happy to meet all his fans. He really is a great guy, he just happens to be an awesome musician to! I know I was probably happier to see him!! LOL!

Stevee T: Yes he is..

Cheese101: Yeah, we tried to have a crap time but, y'know, bit hard to.. :)

Parda: "...and you be as god as possible..."? I think that sums it up! LOL!

Hey, who spotted the surprised chicken in the photos? Maybe if Joe comes out with a song on the new album called "Sexy Chicken" or "Chicken Ho" or something we'd know what the inspiration was!

Hey Joe,

No worries mate. I thought you'd enjoy them. Remember the Allans Always? that was cool. How many times have you played in a record store?

I forgot to mention I was talking about "Searching" with Jeff and its only in the last few days that something you'd said a long time ago about the tab books really sunk in. How you'd looked at them and thought how strange it was that they'd tried to accurately record a snapshot in time that way.

I think I understand a bit more about the connection or inspiration you draw from hendrix. <Flame retardant suit on> I personally prefer your music, he was great... but I get to see you in concert. I could really see you guys having fun, especially with songs like Searching. I really enjoyed this tour waaaay more than the 1996 shows, they sounded more reserved. I only got to the Mar 17th show in Sydney, but that rocked, so cool to just get caught up in the moment and have you guys play around with most the songs, more than just intro and outro stuff... Unreal...

Hey Webmaster Jon, same Jon? You've been running this thing for just a little while then? I remember the early days when Joe answered almost every message. Now you log on a week later and you have a thousand unread messages. I mean OK fine to put up something Joe related, but the online diary and the reproduction of totally unrelated news stories is a bit over the top isn't it? Thought of running two areas? a moderated "Talk to Joe" and an unmoderated "Joe Fans" area?

I guarantee you would have NO problems whatsoever finding some of the more serious fans online to volunteer as moderators, they'd do a great job, they'd work for nothing and Joe could still skim the Joe Fans area if he wanted to. the moderators could just help to filter the notes to Joe to help him stay in touch a bit easier.

It just seems a mammoth task for Joe and I know he wants to give something back, but if he hasn't started dreading the log-on already it's just a matter of time.

Worth considering I reckon,

Hey Joe.

Good to see you heading down under again for G3 this time! You got it together, well done.

Hope to try and make it to a show, we are right in the middle of a major deal (mucho millions) for work until mid December, but hope to steal away for a day or two, perhaps to Melbourne over the weekend, get 2 shows in then.

Can you please let us know where any store or other appearances are? This would be great info for all fans. Maybe we can catch up again, let me know.

Give my regards to the band, and keep up the awesome work.

Hey Joe!

Long time no Hear!. I saw you've posted a tour downunder again in July. Please get in touch, will be trying to attend every show again since I missed the G3, love to catch up again.

If you are working on a new album, don't forget to use my "song titler" if you are stuck for song titles:

https://roo.emu.id.au/Satch/titler.html

It came up with these:

- Monkey on My Memories - The Clouds - Flavor Mind Ride in the One Way (part 1) - Driving (part 1) - I am Rubina's Crush - The Big Slow Down to Memories and Satch Boogie Bop - Z.Z.'s Speed Friends - Ceremony with #2 - My Cool Feeling - Up in a Snake Jam - I am Cool One Strange

I'll update the source words soon with your latest album titles.

Have a great one! Roo.

Joe,

You bloody legend. You completely blew the top off Thebarton last night! Joe, Jeff, Stu and Galen you ALL owned it! I was holding my breath for Searching again, but it never came! Please add it for Sydney and/or Brisbane. Have fun in Melbourne.

It was pretty damn cold wasn't it?

Galen, don't take it personally, I don't think Jeff was trying to kill you, but it looked damn funny from where I was, pity I didn't get a picture of that! Maybe he want's you off his pedestal of glory? lol!

Thanks again for being so accommodating with the signatures and your time Joe. It was good to catch up again. I asked about the snowboarding as I also started back in the Kidwell days, I can understand how you miss it, but I know you made the right decision, I blew my shoulder out last year and I don't think a layer of Aluminium foil would have helped protect me.

And to Mike the crazy dude, have you stopped talking yet? SHUT UP ALREADY. No, just kidding, you keep talking all you want.

Catch up with you guys in Sydney on the 14th.

Oh, we were talking out the front before the show, how about all the satch clubbers bring rubber chickens to Sydney on the 14th?

We'll have to synchronise it so they all rain down on the stage at the same time. How about after the first song?

Maybe it should be a condition of entry? No ticket, no chicken, no entry.

Do the Stu:

Actually, first time I saw him play live and met him in person was during the not-so-well known whirlwind 2 day "Joe Satriani" tour Jan 1996, he played Metro in Sydney, and then Allans daytime store appearance and Melbourne venue in 2 days, then flew straight to New Zealand the next day. PHEW!

He has also toured well before then (but I didn't know about him before 1994 or so). I know he toured a couple of times from discussions about him playing outdoors in Adelaide, and a recording I have from him at Lewllyn Hall in Canberra around FIABD tour time, not sure of the date (1989/90/91?)

http://roo.emu.id.au/Satch/llewellyn.html

I get to see him again at the Enmore during ITLIS tour with my brother and also met Matt, Jeff, and Galen for the first time there.

http://roo.emu.id.au/Satch/tour20050317pics.html

And now, after that awesome show last night in Adelaide, I'm looking forward to the 14th in Sydney and the 17th in Brisbane - If my ears stop ringing!

What .. is your purpose?

Oh, and he did both Bamboo and an absolutely AWESOME searching during ITLIS at Enmore!

I was fortunate enough to hear searching at that venue on that night. Before then I hadn't really thought of it as one of my favourites. But now the album version reminds me of that night.

I should think of a new word, but for now all I have is : "AWESOME"

Also, Joe playing guitar with his mouth was a funny treat last night... I thought "he won't be corny enough to do it again!"... BUT I WAS WRONG!

Oh, forgot to mention something from the meet n greet.

Someone asked joe what he likes to listen to on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings, yknow, like mellow out or party stuff.

He replied he has tunes always racing around in his head so he doesn't tend to listen to other stuff much, it would get too busy and confusing in there.

To which I said "Hey, you listen to Joe too!"

So everyone, Joe is a Satch Fan!

He actually replied he can't get the little dude to shut up.

LOL!

Hey, I just discovered an older interview in 1999 on this site: http://www.guitar9.com/interview38.html Joe mentioned feeding my Collection!

In case anyone is interested, my collection site has been neglected for a while now, I have still been getting items here and there. I am looking for a good piece of software to re-vamp the site. I'd like to properly catalogue all items and tracks with mp3 extracts, etc. Just having trouble finding the right software, anyone got any suggestions? Something perhaps PHP and MySql based, with a web management fornt end, allows me to upload track list/artwork/etc and mp3 snips. Maybe a good music shopping cart software? The Amazon type site would be good. But so you can search on tracks "Surfing" and get back all albums with the MP3 snips so you can listen to all the snips one after the other to compare, sort by date, etc...

Still working gradually on getting everything signed. It's a long process.. Probably got through 1/2 the collection now. I can't have Joe's poor hand fall off can I ?? :)

Will give Lucas the CD tomorrow. He'll go ballistic! Apparently he was asking my daughter every day at school if I'd got it signed yet.

Thanks again Joe, and can't wait to rock agin at enmore on Monday.

BigBunny: http://roo.emu.id.au/Satch

Thebarton was a really cool venue, reminded me of Enmore, lots of character. I love those places.

It is fun following the tour, I haven't done that much, I thought I would this time, I got enmore tomorrow night and Brisbane on Thursday. And my ears have just stopped ringing.

Blowtorch: Actually, no disrespect on my part, but isn't focusing on the technical and ignoring the man going too far the other way? That's great you are so into it, power to you. But many of us aren't. I mean, the music is comes from within the man, and Joe is a genuinely nice guy. Everyone here shares a common interest in the music. I doubt anyone here is just gooey eyed for the bald guy, no matter how dashing he is... LOL. Sure, they discuss other things, but that's what people do. Discuss the shows, discuss technique, swap videos, it's all good.

Awesome show last night, acoustics in the Enmore were SOOO much better than Adelaide at the Thebarton, probably due to being smaller, carpet, more people. Or at least there appeared to be more people.

Galen and Jeff, good to catch up, was a bit disappointed I missed catching up with Stu again. Man, Stu's solo was the best I ever heard last night. You guys owned it.

Galen, thanks again man, I have one of those for Stu as well, hope to catch up Thursday. The quality on that was pretty good hey?

Big Bunny, I'll try and remember to ask about the Notes for you guys on Thursday, no promises though, if I get the chance I'll try to remember..

Whos going to brisbane show? I know there's an attandance list, just want someone to reply, I'm heading up there and will be moshin it alone.

So as they left the stage, I was standing there minding my own business and a "galen" pick smacked me fair between the eyes. Good shot. I didn't know you had signature picks.

Do the Stu: Not on Monday in Sydney. The first half of Stus solo was all different. Very cool.

I got to half way through and realised everyone expects the country music finish. I dont mind either way, but he hamms (!)it up very well!

Actually, did I mention this? it must be hard being the support act for Satch AND being a guitar soloist. BUT, the guy they had on (heavily Vai influenced) was actually pretty damn good, played all originals, except for a very fun Bohemian Rhapsody cover to finish. Very entertaining. Poor guys had problems on the lead for the last songs, started crackling up. But he held it together.

Did I mention the support for Adelaide was complete garbage? The band was fine except for the moviestar wannabe front man/lead/lead/lead/lead/lead/etc. Get rid of him, get a new front man. Sorry, Im not gonna sugar coat that. I couldnt do any better, but 50% of guitarists probably could.

Lookin forward to the Brisbane show. Someone tell me if you're going, Im heading up solo. Want to get near the front. Sorta disappointed its gonna be the last one though. Hopefully only a year or so till the next tour.
