Watching Tony Macalpine's Instructional Video.I dunno, he has a horrible tone, uninteresting phrasing, and hes kinda noisy.Lotta string noise and stuff.Some good licks here and there.

Mike-I didn't really like what he did on that DVD.I mean, that sweep tap lick is the exact same lick he uses throughout his instructional video, which came out like, in 1989.Whenever he does it, I hear open strings ring out, just kinda annoys me.Although I cant sweep very well with my pick over the fretboard like he does.Thats just awkward.I have heard him do some Chopin on the Maximum Security album, so I know he is a good pianist, but that DVD key solo is awful, to my ears.Im just mr.Negative, I guess, lol.

I dont wanna go on a tear bashing Tmac or anything...I had a friend in Hawaii who always swore that tony destroys everyone, so I guess I'm just a little hyper aggressive in my critique of him because of that.

He is good though, and has a few really cool licks.I like his use of tapping to do maj7 arpeggios, and I dont think he is an Yngwie clone at all, like many say he is.He smokes YJM like nothing, as far as I can tell, except his phrasing is pretty bad.

I hope Zakky Wylde doesn't do G3, EVER.Cant stand him.Pattern player, bleh.

Vai did not steal anything from that guy, you know that the 7 string is hardly a new invention, and Vai never claimed to invent it.I have read him mention SEVERAL times that it has always been used in Jazz(George Van Epps anyone?), and an old version of the 7 string originates from Russia, and some classical guys have used them forever.(Big run on sentence, but whatever)

BTW, and advice on ideal settings for the Effects loop trim levels?There is a trim level each for the send, and return.I want to use my delay pedal through the effects loops, but I can't quite find the levels I'm happy with.

Cube-Naw, there are 2 knobs on the back, one for send, and one for return.Ive tried messing with them a little, but I can't get my delay to have the volume Id like.I wanna be able to use it for either slap back echo(like...I dunno, Cathedral or Big Sur Moon) and Depth for my lead tone just by adjusting the delay time and delay volume on the pedal itself.
